Its that simple. If they have a scoop, they publish it, before another journalist does. http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/01/16/editorial-does-esports-understand-journalism/ Great article, really spot on. 1. t Slasher could not announce the player better than teams because they had a whole team preparing a big announcement, so its not better for the viewer. 2. It's not better for teams because it removes hype and then the teams get less views and less exposure to the sponsors wher 99% of the revenue come from. 3. It do not add any extra information to the viewers because Slasher does not do any real journalism around the news. Then alex asked Slasher if it wouldn't be better for everyone if he waited until EG/teams announced the signing and then Slasher could used the EG videos etc. on his page, and add extra value with interviews, analysis, etc.Slasher responded with not answering the question, and then he refused to talk about or understand any of the points made by Alex, and he did not want to do anything different if he had another chance. The conclusion of this was that Alex then said that in the future his team and a lot of otter teams would not talk to slasher since he is only thinking about himself, and not cooperating with the community to find the best solution for everyone. My thoughts about this is that I ratter want to see the announcement from the team and not from slashers tweets or someone posting the tweet on forums etc. For example I loved the Thorzain video, and especially since it came as a big surprise. I do also want to read an interview with for example JaeDong or Alex after EG signed Jeadong. Why slasher don't want to provide this for me is very strange. And when he compare a interview like this with an interview from a tournament it is not at all the same. I think a lot more people would read the interview with Jeadong after he signed, rather than Idra on IPL5. Just as an example. So come on Slasher , talk with the teams and find the solution that's best for everyone.

I think people are more concerned on how EGWheat's shows are quickly becoming a ground for various EG members to gang up on an individual in the hope to prove their utterly worthless points. (and the fact that he thought LO3 was a good show this week just astounds me) Alex needs to sort his team and attitude out, because both stink pretty hard at the moment.

Wow, People are STILL thinking this was a gang up in any way? Wheat never said his opinion and just facilitated. The players barely spoke. It was Alex and then TB, no one else. Get real. You're the one making drama out of nothing by calling it a gang-up.

In fact Alex specifically asked his players to remain silent during his exchange with Slasher.

Good to see someone else not immediatly devilizing EG, which is easy to do, if you haven't watched the show....

They're mad at Slasher because "he only does things that benefit himself and nobody else in esports". This is coming from Alex Garfield, the CEO of the team that's known for buying all their talent. This is coming from the team which poached Puma. Did they think about TSL when they did it? Did they think about esports? No, they were like "you didn't make him sign a contract, fuck you, we're signing him". It's so ridiculous to see them on a EG show, with 3 EG players, all wearing Siberia headphones and drinking Monster at regular intervals, and hearing Alex rage at Slasher because "he only does things which benefit himself and not anybody else". I don't understand how someone with that kind of mentality is the CEO of the most successful team in esports.

It was their announcement to make, not his. Quite frankly, if I have to chose between a journalist getting the money to stay afloat, or an actual team, I would always side with the team. The idea that you're bashing them for promoting their sponsors is laughable, which is why they are running 2 team houses and you aren't.
