Will riot's rumoured "can't play in our league if your organization has a dota/Hon team" eventually extend to banning sc2 teams as well? Or will blizzard eventually have a similar rule against dota/hon and LoL owning teams competing in sc2 tournaments? Will this extend to either blizzard and riot saying tournaments can't have their game if they run their competitor's game? What would MLG chose between sc2 and LoL? With teamliquid covering dota and blizzard all-stars coming out I don't think you can say that the two genres are completely seperate and they don't see eachother as competitors for marketshare. Especially if LoL really is getting more popular than sc in Korea. Doesn't this really hurt the whole growth of 1 esport game helps the growth of all esports games thing people say? Could be interesting if Blizzard issues a no-Dota, no-LoL, only-Blizzard-Allstars rule with the threat of taking away SC2. That would be quite a pickle. And no, I don't think that'll happen. except blizzard allstars isn't going to be a competitive title.

Bet you it comes out with HotS. Also willing to bet that Blizzard does not want to dive into that field to hard. There are some DEEP(Valve = SteamMoney + Riot=SKINS!) pockets fighting in that space and Blizzard has enough going on with SC2.

There are some DEEP(Valve = SteamMoney + Riot=SKINS!) pockets fighting in that space and Blizzard has enough going on with SC2. It was intended to be released with HotS, but was delayed, if I remember correctly. I don't think they're going to do much with it either, other than trying to take advantage of the hot genre. I said that in the original post. But I haven't seen any definite statement of their intentions anywhere.

Now I'm super worried about what will happen if blizzard doesn't change their plans for dota esports and riot strikes back at both all-stars and sc2. A war between the game companies forcing exclusivity against eachother would be very bad for everyone except the game company that wins. What if blizzard tells teamliquid to not cover any mobas except blizzards or tsl 5 won't get a licence and their players will be banned from all tournaments? Scary!

I think it is very likely that buisnesses will do things that help their profit and marketshare. Why would riot be so willing to blacklist valve but not blizzard?

Riot would be trying to damage an established competitor. They're basically equal rivals. Blizzard would be risking SC2 in an effort to unseat either a single extremely strong competitor or two top dogs, depending. Starcraft-as-eSport will always be more important to them than their mod-as-eSport.

I probably shouldn't respond to your question on this thread and get off topic, but just to set the record straight, Riot WILL NOT be forcing organizations to be exclusive to League of Legends. I'm not sure where this rumor started, but that's exactly what it is, a rumor.
