I think most of us knew the dates and locations from earlier posts, but from what I can see this is the first ever official release.
Interesting choice for the finals in my opinion. I'm guessing Providence will be there "NY tour."
GET PUMPED

Can't wait for MLG to swing it's way to the east coast.
GOGOGO!
Oh man that's super exciting
This might be a stupid question (and if it is I apologize) but can anyone register for an event and participate to play? Or are there prerequisites? Is it just a matter of paying your participation ticket and start playing?
I looked on the website and I have not seen anything to the contrary but I was wondering if anyone here knew.
come back to DC next year
Decent. Can't wait to go to Columbus! Tyler fighting! and hopefully the relay race is good too
we need an MLG NYC event.

I am pretty sure anyone can participate for the circuit events, but it would be first come serve. This is NOT true for the national championships.
Can't wait, I might actually be able to go to the Providence championships.
Fuck ya, providence baby thats like 20 minutes from where I go to school.
Ill leave my mark
I have a bad feeling that I'll be jammed up at work from August 26 to the 28th...Kinda like last year
Locations don't really cater towards anyone in the midwest which is unfortunate. I was hoping for something in Chicago, St. Louis or Minneapolis
Holy freaking jesus PROVIDENCE?
My Hometown just got that much more amazing.
Thanks for the info. I updated my Thunderbird.
The dates I read somewhere previously were mostly the same. Some minor changes and the finals in Providence were added.
Always nice to have the schedule for the whole year to tell the family they have to adjust their birthday parties.

I talked with MLG Lee and it won't happen for a while unfortunately. The costs (especially for labor) are way too high. Same reason why MLG is not in any major US cities.
They need an MLG event in Washington =(
I really hope they decide to come back to the DC area
Was very disappointed when I saw the line up-- it was so nice to be able to spectate somewhere close to home.

Same here. Chicago would have really been sweet.

I could see this in Los Angeles and New York but most other cities are fairly reasonable in regards to costs.

hey wtf i didnt get any stipends last mlg :D
AWESOME i just happen to be in florida for that particular weekend woot.
Anaheim in the summer fuck yea. Woop im fucking going. i prob wont be sober.

Columbus isn't too far from Chicago, but Columbus works for a lot of the Midwest
Right when I get back to university MLG comes to Raleigh. Yes Please!
Was hoping for a NYC event to go. Providence is a little far to spectate.
I was really hoping for Indianapolis or St. Louis at some point.

Chicago has the worst labor costs I believe

did you place top 16?,
EDIT: nvm stipends don't kick in till third event, perform well at Columbus and you'll get stipends for the third event.

This is going to be real bad-ass, even though I won't be there live :D
Is Rhode Island actually an island or no?
no rhode island isnt an island
MLG Anaheim baby! So excited!!!
I was really hoping for another DC event... =( Oh well, there's always next year. I'll probably make it to Columbus at least!
I'm ridiculously pumped that the finals are going to be in RI. I won't be competing but I'm definitely going to come observe and meet up with some TLers.
Woo Providence, about time something good comes here and not Boston. Providence to NYC and vice versa is only a 3 hour drive for people from NYC if they really wanna see MLG.
7 Hour drive to Columbus from here...don't see it happening

Chicago's certainly aren't awesome but for the setup labor you are probably looking at for an MLG event LA and NYC are the worst. There is a reason a dinky house in chicago is like 300k and in LA it's 600k. But by all accounts each city has venues not within city limits that could have easily been used, Chicago for sure.
Anyways, the rest of the venues are great and all and VP will certainly be attending. Just wish there was a more Midwest venue.
Yeah, more of those "hugely successful event" like that in Dallas please.
I was just in Anaheim for a YCS(I was one of the 3 score-keepers for the event) and flew into John Wayne in Santa Ana. Getting from Airport to Hotel is $10 a person via Super Shuttle. You can book them for Hotel to Airport also. I booked the round trip and for 2 people it was $36(they did a discount). I can't remember if the discount was for 2 people OR because I booked both ways.
Anyways.... Super Shuttle worked for me
I have at least a 10 hour drive to Providence (closest city for me) hope it's worth it.
does anyone know how much the entry fee for MLG is?

This this this. Chicago would be awesome. I'm hoping for next year.

If it wasn't answered already, anyone can buy a pass online and play. You don't have to do anything other than buy the pass and show up on time.
The only limiting factor is that passes can sell out quickly. So if you want to get a pass, enter all your payment info on MLG's website beforehand, and log on the minute passes become available. There were instances in 2008 with Halo 3 where passes sold out in like 10 minutes.

July 29-31: Anaheim, CA – Anaheim Convention Center
I am excited for this one, I love any sort of eSports event that is close to me, I always attend.
Awwww they made the finals in Providence so that the people of Rhode Island could say that something HAPPENED this year! How thoughtful of them! It's almost like RI is an actual PLACE now. Mmmmbut not quite.
October 14-16: Orlando, FL – Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center srsly. Gaylord Palms Resort?! :D:D

They get money from the games that they use (aka that's why CoD is on the PS3)

they had a canada event back 2 or 3 years ago I think it could happen again.

I think I can actually amke the Anaheim one. i'll be in socal.
Come to Denver please!!! We host the Great American Beer Festival... I'm sure our Convention Center could also host MLG.
Even if there was an event sort-of-adjacent to CO I would make the road trip....
Party in Anaheim! Long flight but worthy of a partial vacation!
Me and 4 of my friends are all going to be flying down to Anaheim and getting summer jobs to pay for it, we're meeting a long-known friend of us all who lives in California there =D this is going to be so much fun. So worth the money we'll be spending

I was reading this and saw Anaheim and got depressed because I just moved away from San Diego (which is close)...but then I read that the championship is in PROVIDENCE! Moved to Boston so it's close enough for me wuahahahaha. See you suckers there! Is it possible to get a sc2-only pass haha?
If you get a spectators pass you can go wherever in the event that isn't for Pro Players only. As for competing, I'm pretty sure the National Championship is invite only, you have to qualify by performing well at the other events (which are open entry).
You can't just pay half price to only see SC2 though, the whole event is on one floor in a convention center, so you gotta pay for it all.
I will compete if they go to D.C. =p
YES I CAN GO TO ANAHEIM BECAUSE ITS NOT DURING SCHOOL!!!~!!!! currently fist pumping like a champ in my room. My parents are looking at me weird <.<

IT would be really cool if they did Midwest too! Am from Minnesota. ANd i saw a post Star craft has a huge community in MN. ANd i think it would be cool for a couple of Midwest Places. They hit up the west and east pretty cool But OH? Who lives there? LOL Seriously tho....
MLG National Championships will be held in Providence as long rumored but will be a normal tournament style format, with top 16 in the championship bracket and up to 256 Open bracket players fighting for the 16 open spots to move into the championship bracket and challenge the best for $50,000 USD First place prize!!
Really excited and hoping to see some HUGE Talent from all over the world compete since it's a little bit more money then a whole month of GSL crammed into a 3 day tournament! =)
again, National Champs in Providence, RI, USA is NOT invite only, its open to all to register..
Something's wrong...I don't see a Boston on the list!
Maybe next year
Let's hope they have their thing together in columbus.
They need MLG in Europe!!!.
Anahiem at my birthday :D hell yess

Hey... Just wondering if you could move MLG Raleigh back one full week to the first weekend in September? See, I'm on holidays as of September, so it would be more convenient for me to watch from here in Australia, if I don't have work the next day.
Thanks for the consideration.

I looked on the website and I have not seen anything to the contrary but I was wondering if anyone here knew. There are no prereqs required in order to play at an MLG Event. They are open to everybody. You'll just have to purchase a Player Pass to be entered into the competition.

This is our 2nd time going to the Gaylord Palms Resort (last was in 2009.), and the 4th time going to a Gaylord Resort (Florida 2009, Nashville 2010, DC 2010, and Florida 2011.) They are great resorts/hotels.

That was cute A far better response than I was expecting... For the record, I was clearly joking
Wishing all future MLGs the best. Clearly leading the way as far as LAN events for SC2 go in NA.
