I was thinking of binding it to backspace to make cycling through bases a bit easier.
Does anyone re-bind their caps lock key?

You can bind cycling through bases to caps lock ingame. I do that, and I'm sure plenty of others do anyway Just go to escape menu and click hotkeys.

If you are not using your F1-key frequently I can only recommend to rebind the camera positions to F1-F4 and put the idle worker selection somewhere else. Since your Hatches will be in the middle of the screen when you click on the portrait once and your group selection will not be overridden by accessing a saved camera position this is by far the easiest way for injects or accessing a base fast.

What I'm trying to do is to change my caps lock to work as my control key. Edit: After searching some more, it seems like this isn't allowed in most tournaments anyway, and when I changed control and caps lock with my razer drivers sc2 won't let me use that, so I guess it might be against blizzard rules as well.

I use this kind of system, where w is my select idle workers hotkey.

I used to have my 'Attack' command hotkeyed to caps lock because I have the 'A' key as one of my control group. Downside was that caps lock would alternate on and off throughout the game, so 50% of the time I'd be yelling when I went to type something to allies. Ended up changing the registry so that caps lock was switched with the tilde key (~), and then made the Attack command hotkeyed to tilde.
