Dreamhack winnre, Naama leaves Mouz and joins up with the team Virus (featuring Satiini). Pretty strange move in my opinion, as he's leaving one of the top foreign teams and joining a pretty random/midlevel one....

Isnt Virus a finnish clan? Anyway it doesnt seem like the best decision he could make since Mouz has better players...

"My time in mousesports was great and I´d like to thank all in the team for being awesome. Many teams in e-sport seem not to be reliable and professional but mousesports is the completely opposite. Everything that was promised for me was done and I have no bad word to say about this team and thanks for letting me go even though I was contracted." - Naama

That's interesting. I wonder what made him leave, what does Team Virus have to offer?

Weird move indeed.
Maybe he had problems with Mouz (seems not but still he probably wouldn't say it out loud even if it's true anyway) or Virus is planing to get bigger and offered a better contract etc?
Either way , good luck to him!

Maybe he wanted to be on a Finnish team? I don't know anything about Virus, but Satiini is another Finnish player, and it makes some sense for players to want a practice environment in their native language. Only speculation, though.

Edit: Virus is apparently a team started by Satiini, and most of the players are Finnish, but they call it a French team and use the french flag.

while this seems a strange decision i guess if virus are gonna invest and become another top level team then this is only a good thing

Teams only have a limited budget to fly people to various one off events. I'm guessing Naama joined Virus so he can be the team's star player, get sent everywhere, and not get overshadowed (or at least constantly compete) with Morrow/HasuObs.

E: Naama is one of the more interesting terran players to watch. If I'm right, I think it's a good thing.

Maybe it has to do with the "contested" rule of the NASL limiting each team to have 5 players in the league? With Virus, his spot will be ensured no problem.

However, I only see 4 pretty good players in Mouz from my perspective : MaNa, Strelok, HasuObs and MorroW... Could it be that they are adding a 5th big name... White-Ra HAS to find a team to play in NASL... *wonders*

Does anyone know how long White-Ra's sponsorship by Duckload will last. i.e. could he be returning to Mouz full time in the near future?

Purely speculation: Maybe it's because of NASL?

5 players: HasuObs 2270 pts, MorroW 2178 pts, MaNa 2144 pts, Strelok 2115 pts, GhosTa 1973 pts.

vs Naama 2140 pts.

You must be talking about dietrich mateschitz, the co-founder of Red Bull energy drink company. to which i say.. WHAAAATT? i've heard nothing about that :| do you have a source? I wouldn't call outright bullshit on it because red bull have always been about sponsoring the less mundane sports.. but dietrich is a crazy marketing guy, you'd have thought he'd be drumming up hype all over the place if he actually owned the team.

Also, he's most definitely a billionaire, not a millionaire :x

Red Bull seems like legit sponsor so why does their site look so bad?

A lot of these mid level teams should step it up and get a great website, like Fnatic.

Well, you're able to vote for him. I don't know if that's a definite indicator of whether or not he can participate though.

Could it be that he just doesn't want to play SC2 at a high level anymore or at least at the moment?

I do remember him talking about wanting to finish school first during Dreamhack, and then his brother (Sein) said in his Assembly interview something about Naama not really being in the mood to play or practice much since his Dreamhack win.

do you realise how big of a sponsor Red Bull is? I'm not even sure how virus even managed to get a sponsor like red bull with a site that looks that poor..

and websites don't cost as much as you think they do.

Well if you look at some of the top players match history, you'll see that they practise against many players that aren't on their team, so I don't think this would stop him from playing games against mous players. I watch Morrows custom games sometimes and it's not too often I see mouz players on there.

Since both Red Bull and Halo 3 have been mentioned here i find this quite fitting. Red Bull have had the Halo pro Walshy (formerly on final boss) sponsored for quite a while now, so it doesn't really shock me to see them moving over to Starcraft as well because it is a much bigger game.
OT: Strange to see Naama leave Mouz, always thought that he would have been one of the people to stay on it, but i guess if he leaves he leaves

In an interview for the Finnish e-sports site sett.fi Naama says roughly the following:

"Virus Gaming contacted me and made a damn good offer. After a discussion with the managers of mouz I decided to join Virus. In Virus I get the same benefits as in mouz, but considerably better support (money?)."

Here's a link to the article in case you want to Google translate or something: http://www.sett.fi/?q=node/635

well virus is still quite a decent team, and has many divisions for different games.
Also you have take into account that in mouz he was pretty much the "worst" of the top players (morrow, strelok, mana, hasuobs) are all probably getting more team benefits than him, where in virus he is pretty much their #1 player and will probably get rewarded accordingly.

FYI redbull sponsored our paintball team... we only played regionally too.. . so its not exactly hard to get a sponsor if you can help them get there name out and attend events.

If my memory serves me right there was an interview with morrow a while back where he basically said that mouz couldnt afford for him to go to some tournament, when asked about why he didnt attend it. Probably similar situation for Naama and from Virus he now gets better support allowing him greater reach in terms of travel.

Hmm. After dreamhack he kinda fell off the map, where as the other strong terrans stayed strong. Maybe mous didn't feel like he was worth it anymore

Actually I feel like many EU terrans have that problem. Cant think of a single dominant terran player (besides obviously Jinro), with Demuslim being unable to play and Sjow being pretty inconsistent. Its pretty safe to say that the terran domination that existed a few months back is over.

I do agree with that, but I literally haven't seen him place in anything. Kas/Sjow/Strelok/etc were always in things and placing moderately high. I saw Naama, maybe a quarter as much as each of them

o.O weird change by Naama... with him and WhiteRa leaving Mouz looks not so strong...
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

lol guys, did you really think a fucking F1 boss would sponsor some unknown SC2 team without anyone noticing? As for redbull sponsoring them - it isn't even listed as a main sponsor so I wouldn't have high expectations about money they're getting from them (if redbull was serious about it, they would probably form own redbull team.. redbull.Ra, how cool is that, right?).

I`m always sceptical when a new team promises a super-duper salary, infinite travel expenses and so forth. There is an endless list of teams that disappeared sooner than later. So it may be doubted if it really is smart to depart from an established team to a newcomer mainly due to financial reasons. But apart I guess that there are different reasons as he really started to slack after Dreamhack even though his brother mentioned in an Interview that Naama went for full-time pro. Prior to that he looked to fill the gap of Morrow as Scandinavias most talented Terran. And now he joins a team with Satiini who seems to be the most disliked Pro in the Euro-scene...

There has to be some reason.. whether he just thinks the Virus guys are cooler or that mouz is running out of money or he wants to hit up NASL..

Either way seems like a pretty strange move..

In the first page someone mentioned that the owner of virus is a millionaire who owns a F1 team or smthn. Wouldn't be surprised if he does, if they have Redbull as a sponsor. I guess Redbull isn't the easiest sponsor to get anyway.

Well, good luck to naama.

Virus have always had mercs in their team, but just a couple of months ago they were a French team with some Europeans, Wibang being the only Finn. Them having a rich owner makes a lot of sense now since they have basically bought a new lineup to be able to compete on a higher level. I still believe this is a questionable move from Naama though. I remember people laughing at Satiini for joining Virus and not a better team. Now Naama, wtf?

It's probably mean that his contract was ending ans so mouz offered him a rather low amount ( considering his performance it's nothing strange here ) while Virus decided to hire him for a larger amount due to his past achievement. I believe he is dying starcraft 2 star. Did anyone seen his performance vs socke ? It was really pathetic

I saw it coming....

Geez, can't people be more clueless?

Virus is a French organization, which recruited few unknown Finnish players. Then, these players persuaded Satiini to join Virus. In the end due being pretty good clan from player's point of view more top finnish players joined in. Including Naama's brother.

Now, the already mentioned Korean visit also might have gone very well, which would explain a lot.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the NASL's 5 player limit.

Mouz could field:
Morrow
Hasu
Mana
Strelok

And Im sure im missing someone

Maybe he figured he would have a better shot on virus.

Basically Virus made an offer significantly better than Mouz's. He said that with Virus's support he can go on more lans and improve back to his earlier form and so on blah blah.
