Ah I was really late this time, so many players couldn't be verified. Part of the problem was that the parse was from Monday at 7:30 AM and it wasn't posted until 13 hours later, and the other part was I didn't start tracking until 26 hours after that =] Instead, this week I'll focus on the new divisions that were found.

E-Rank (modifier: +315) Sentry Pi Firebat Bravo Azimar Charlie Samiku Pi (this was found last week but it wasn't on SC2Ranks)
Unknown Tier: Reaver Gamma (possible E-Rank?) Zerus Romeo (possible E-Rank?)
Sorry for the relative lack of information this week, but at least we got something. It's quite difficult considering many players are playing many more than 25 ranked matches per day, in addition to any 2v2s or custom maps, over this holiday vacation.

Ok so I'm 2600 in an E rank division. Does that mean that I roughly measure up to a 2300 in a S rank division? Should I say I'm 2300?

Some new information that I seem to have noticed that i'm unsure if your aware of is that if one were to check their opponents match history of the point exchange, independent of bonus pool if you won and gained 8 points, you should be able to check your opponents point change and instead of losing 8 points they lost 6 points.
If this is universal across the board and not a calculated occurrence based on the current MMR calculation this could shed some light on why more games = more rating. As even if your percentage was a flat 50%, you would still gain an average of 2 points than lost, including bonus pool inflation.
Can anyone confirm/deny this observation?
You do not net gain points from playing games, look at how many points your opponent lost when you win, it will always exactly equal the pre-bonus points you gained.
That's actually not true. Points earned and lost are not zero sum.
However, that doesn't make the ratings inflate, either. Your points simply drift toward your MMR. Just as it's entirely possible for both players to see the other as Favored on the loading screen (and therefore potentially earn many or lose few points, creating the illusion of inflation), it's just as likely for both players to see themselves as Favored (meaning there's a risk of losing many points or a chance of gaining very few).
It all depends on what your MMR is relative to your current rating. If your MMR is much higher, you will frequently face Favored opponents which will give you the opportunity to increase your points much faster. Conversely, if your MMR is much lower, then the MMRs of your opponents will also be lower, and the chances of you being Favored in your matches increases, which means your points will likely drop.

Blizzard has done their worst to the EU top 200 this week and has butchered our attempt of backwards engineer their system. However a bit has been lured from the numbers:
Korhal Juliet is very likely class S :S Overlord Hawk is most likely class E or below :S Kalethi Pepper is class E Tabrenus Whiskey is class E

Top 200 Sea is online.
TheMuscle is indeed on the list this week, Comma isn't though, but you can confirm it's division I guess. I won't do that though

Was just looking at the SEA list and compared it to the sc2ranks one
http://sc2ranks.com/masters/sea
Looks way different especially the bottom half. Over 100+ players are not there. In some cases, some players are 3rd or 4th in their division but is in the list while the 1st and 2nd places are not inside.
For example : player DemonSpirit is in 178 ranked 6th in his division but the 4th and 5th place Lich and Canon is not in the top 200
Might be a result of them playing more games after the list is announced but seems unlikely considering how much of these occurences are there in the list.

Guys, I might have just discovered a way to know the rank of any diamond division, being them on top 200 or not
I'll keep you guys informed...
Edit: I think I confirmed there's no G diamond division. I'll show you my work later though XD
|
SEA data was taken at 2:00 AM SGT on the 29th, it's currently 9:45 AM SGT the 30th so the top 200 list is over a day old.
I just did a quick look over and everyone in DemonSpirits division is on the page, not necessarily the same one (since they have more points), but they all show up.

Yup, my Division Tassadar Upsilon is E-Rank. (By comparing TheMuscle's Points)
HOWEVER. The cut off for Top200 is 2034, my points at were 2519. Maybe there -is- another set of prerequisites for being in the Top 200...

I am trying to answer this one right now:
The tiers defined in my post could only be determined due to the Top 200 listing, but how would an average player manage to determine his division's tier without a global reference point like the Top 200?
Everyone gets promoted to diamond from platinum (ok, some actually get promoted from gold, silver or even bronze, but most people do get from platinum). Also, everyone loses an amount of points when they get promoted. I am pretty sure that someone that goes to a rank S loses more points than someones at rank F, 378 points to be exactly. I am trying to proof it, but it's hard to collect the data from the exact point before and after promotion, plus the points he did lose or gain in that match >.< Also, there might be 2 ou more tiers on platinum, making it harder to evalutate >.<

Look at the players in your division, check out the players near the top and then the ones at the middle and then the ones at the bottom, notice a pattern? it's almost universal in every division that there is a direct relationship between games played and division rank.
Actually aside from the people who have played so little that they've way underspent their bonus pool, I've noticed a lot of people with far less games played higher ranked than those who have cranked out two or three times as many

i cant seem to find the division Arbiter Lambda, i know our division is fairly new, less then a week old, but was wondering where we would be placed accordingly.
According to SC2 ranks we are ranked #18, I was a tad confused on how you determined the modifiers, but if you could add ours in, that would be splendid

So many players asking this... and now I can finally give an answer, though its not 100% confirmed, it's probably an E-Rank. (I am 90% positive on this one)

How can I find info on my division Gantrithor Gamma? I think it was created some time in October.
|
Though i understand the reasons for asking: It would be a good idea to refrain from asking about specific divisions.
1. We don't have enough data yet to determine how every division is ranked
2. It is not helpfull in finding out specifics about this phenomenon
However please leave comments or ask questions if you don´t understand the system. Provide data for your own profile from moving up or down in divisions, you having enough points for reaching the masters league according to http://www.sc2ranks.com/masters/us or whatever region you are in, but not being in it etc. All of this is positive for further developing the theories.

I can't even try in a division this old. I can make an interesting guess on divisions older than Dezember 21th +/-, thanks to an faster refresh rate on sc2ranks since that day, or we can confirm it with recent top 200 (if any members are on there, obviuosly). It's not the case for this division though
Also, with the reset and most people getting to diamond directly, it will also be impossible to guess its division by promotion points lost, sadly.
Most diamonds division on US, Europe and Korean servers aren't getting it's rank discovered, ever. Maybe one day the guys at Blizzard will change the system so it'll have only one tier per league, but I guess they won't do that... Unfortunetally, after reset and with the new master league, we will even lose our top 200 refference, and we might means the death of my project on almost completely discovering everything about the system

I don't see how any of this cross division point modifier makes any sense at all. I am a 2400 pt (and climbing) diamond player with over 500 games played and I don't think I've even played someone from within my division yet. I have, however, consistently played people of "higher ranked" divisions and beaten them (but not always ;]). It simply does not make any sense for modifiers as the game is balanced by your MMR and point acquisition, and loss, based on that.

if anyone watches "the event" you know how they mentioned secret alien maths and thats how the guy "thomas" has lots of cash money. I have a feeling that the govt is hiding "the event" from us and this guy (excalibur_z) is thomas. Its clearly a sign, i mean conspiracy theories are born from loosely tied facts. Lol. jk.
excalibur, ur work is amazing sir I hope you were doing this for college or something b/c the time and dedication for this must have been enormous.
