I'm not comparing it to Livestream though, i'm just saying its not like theres artifacting and shit all over the screen. I realize it's still pretty horrible quality, but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.. it's still watchable.
But of course I would never ever pay any amount of money to watch that crap, and they will also need to improve free quality if they want e-sports to be taken seriously at all.

It could be a marketing ploy you know, isn't pretty much how gaz price works? it goes freaken high, everyone complains, it goes higher, everyone complains even more then decreases a little bit then everyone is happy...

ill pay the 20. completely 100% reasonable. 20$ for vods and stream... completely worth it.
To be honest this is so incredibly awsome of them to do this. They actually listened to everyone and compromised and came up with a fair deal in my opinion. This is a very good sign of things to come, I think. It is very cool to know that they are actually reading and reacting to what everyone has to say, very rare in a business to go "u know they are right...". Truely good news imo.

I'll buy the season pass and get access to the VODs. I'd have to stay up until 3 a.m. if I wanted to watch the games live. $20 seems reasonable to me so I'm happy with the deal.

|
I decided to pay the 20 bucks after this came out. Not because of the vods or anything but because I appreciate what they are doing for the esports community. One good turn deserves another.

Problem is that I can't find out whether I want to buy a HQ stream because the previews on http://www.gomtv.net/2010gslopens1/premiumzone/VideoSpecs.php don't even work for me. Do they work for others? i downloaded gom player, but cant watch any of the videos on their site... dont know how to fix

haha its not "making love" its just really really rough angry sex ?
hahaha

Great news. I have no problem paying $20 for the combined package.
|
It's a shame that the VODs won't be free, though. Often times I end up having to miss out on watching them live. I hopeI'm sure an enterprising individual will find a way to make them availible for free...

Haha i think this kinda "just as planned" move from GOM.
Average TL'er "Oh boy we made them drop their price from 50 to 20 TL wins the internet again !!! "
I still think its overpriced for the quality they are offering but im curious to see another poll if you would pay or not with the price of 20$ .
Oh they are offering LQ stream for free which is good too !

And to watch football (soccer...) each weekend I have to pay 32€ a month. HD version costs even more. 240$ for half a year. So 20$ for SC2 is not that expensive. People said they paid 10$ for the MLG weekend. Well.. that's 40$ a month - even more of a "ripoff" than gomTV...
If you dont want to pay - watch the free stream. Yeah, the quality sucks. But it is good enough.
To the "just ustream / livestream" - yeah. And then we get something similiar to day9s show #170 (?) where nothing works for ~45mins. And gomTV just says "we deliver the stream to ustream/livestream, the problem is at their end, not our buisness". Wonder what reactions they would get then....

It's still clearly unreasonable to pay that price simply for a months worth of vods, pretty sure thats more than my internet costs per month and its for not even pro players.
|
There you go, TL has done it again. Shake our fist at capitalism.
|
Thank you GOM, thats all I have to say, and hopefully I can pay up for future content to help support awesome tournaments like this one. ^_^

At least now somebody will probably just record the streams and release the vods for free without having to pay upfront first. Really glad GOM's caving in. I wish they'd just release their vods for free, but now that's it's not even going to be hard to find them for free I'm happy

And to watch high quality, professional brood war for SEVEN full years I've had to pay exactly $0.00. Any amount of money is too much money to me.

Extremely happy to hear this! They're going to get WAY more people willing to pay 20$ for a HQ stream than they would have gotten for 30$ for any stream at all. Smart business move on their part.
