It definitely has hyped it 10x more for me ... and it's only the opening round =). If anyone wants to analyze TLO, Torch, and Artosis' opponent that'd be great as well!

Edit: Even just starting up a thread introducing the Korean opponent and finding some replays so the TL community can comment on them would be pretty cool and potentially helpful to our GSL heroes.

I was actually already on it, but didn't decide to post a thread on each person because info on them were lacking. I'll add it to the OP since u asked.

Well done, hoping Idra will be ready. Hes the better player, lets hope that he is also the better gamer.

IdrA held off his repaers first game and the terran kept sending in small forces that idra beat easily and just outmacroed and won, 2nd game on DO guy tried ghost drops with nukes idrA went mutas held it off and eventually won after killing off many drops and small attacks.

I didn't catch the first game in its entirety due to stream issues but seemed like Idra comfortably stomped terran fairly standard bio play with ling/bling/muta on Xel'Naga.

Desert oasis was kinda cool, ghost drop rush with a nuke on the main, but Idra didn't build a single pair of lings for the first few minutes of the game so his macro just outshot by a long way, destroyed a few one-base marine+ghost drops with muta play on Desert Oasis to force a GG.

Basically this guy was nowhere near the standard of Idra.

Edit: Slow typer at 4am =P

terran looked like trash game 1.

Game 2 he had some cool ideas but after they KINDA worked the follow up was bad.

Congrats to IdrA taking care of business on the big stage but that was a fairly easy first round opponent I'd think. That or he made him look easy hehe

Yeah also the nukes were rubbish, there were 2 nuke drops, killed 2 workers? and 4 extractors, 2nd ghost got surrounded by Zerglings and fully loaded Medivacs got owned by Mutas.

You have to give it to him for being creative though, the nuke drop came SO damn fast, definitely the most original thing to see since release imo. I could see it really flustering someone who wasn't expecting it.

it was definitely cool nukes, but they didn't really do too much and the followup left him dead.

Idra is way too fundamentally sound to beat with cheeze/gimmickry if you can't back it up with a seriously high skill level. I mean, originality is great and all, but this is a guy whose trained for 12 hours a day to basically make the exact same build viable in almost every matchup against every strat--the element of surprise may help a little, but ultimately you're gonna have to outplay him even if you do throw him off his game, and there aren't that many players right now who can do that.
