First post, just thought I'd say that I enjoy the show.
Anyway, regarding the disconnect issue whereby the game is automatically replayed unless the opponent concedes, that's actually come up in Halo a few times. For instance, last National Championship a match deciding game was ended literally a second before the game was won and the game was replayed leading to a loss for the team that would have won and then a loss for the series. The community was obviously pretty mad but MLG didn't change the rules, which have been that way since. . .2004, I think. Basically, what I'm saying is that you shouldn't expect MLG to change anything regardless of what happens or what people want. They do what they do and they know people will still attend their events and watch their streams because overall they have a great product.
Of course, MLG has never really had a lot of outside coverage like it's getting with StarCraft II so maybe they'll listen more. MLG has traditionally controlled almost all the media about its events and teams but SCII is a lot bigger than MLG so if there's any game that can change things I think this is it.
As for series continuing when players meet in the losers bracket having played in the winners bracket, I get your point about both players having earned the right to be there, but the simple argument that a player who goes 3-2 (2-0, 1-2) over someone in a tournament should be the one to advance over the guy who goes 2-3 is rather compelling to me. I wouldn't be opposed to a rule change but I don't think the current set up is stupid.

Anyway, doing exactly the same build over and over again in a tournament is not good. Doing it most of the time is fine, but you do have to vary a bit.
I said ZvT specifically, not ZvP (where we saw the spine crawler push with roaches/hydras). And now hearing the Machine backstory, it seems even more petty. Understandable, but it doesn't excuse or call for continuously bashing him on the podcast.

people need to stop saying that select cant tvz just from seeing 2 games. its irritating how fast people assume things, didnt he play some dominant tvz in both tl opens, and didnt he beat sen 3-0 on sens stream. the problem is he almost always went 10 rax, and the patch screwed him over 1 day before the tournament. give him a week and then check out his tvz, his lategame was VERY impressive from all the games ive seen of him.

I havn't watched SC:BW in a while, but is Flash still going to the exact same mech build he goes every game vs Protoss? I find it ironic that two ex-BW players are the ones whining about a lack of build diversity, which makes me think they aren't a fan of Select because hes a Korean playing in a local US tournament or because he isn't a member of the TL.

Incontrol said that it's a build that won't work as well the more that people are familiar with it. Once nony/huk/kiwi get enough practice preparing for it then it won't be an issue at the next lan, and select doesn't seemingly have any other strategies to fall back on. I think he said the same thing about lastshadow and that was pretty much true for this event. People are reading into it a bit too desperately, nobody on the podcast implied that getting 2nd at MLG also meant that he was terrible.

They're not actually bashing Select. They're just joking around.

Having problems downloading this, can someone mirror it somewhere?

I demand more serious responses to these podcasts. I actually only do it for the controversy.

Doesn't seem like you guys read my post. He bashed him already earlier. But Geoff is given a 2nd opportunity to comment on SelecT on SotG and uses that to backslap him yet again. It just seems that Geoff can't even compliment him on one thing. Geoff was not joking either - you can hear his voice change when he's in a funny mood. But in his discussion of SelecT he was quite serious and the antagonism, IMO, is really uncalled for.
You guys can gloss over it all you want, but it really stood out from what was a rather laid back podcast.
*Hi Geoff :D

Can someone please rehost the podcast? The server has completely crashed.

The podcast would be awfully boring and uninteresting if the casters didn't at least occasionally say what they really think. Sorry if not everyone was impressed by SelecT.

The way they talk in the mouth of each others in the last podcast was annoying as hell. I love the podcasts but stuffs like that sucks
