thats.....obscene... I'm a bit worried about the sheer number of VODs available for the entire tournament, and possibly for all 3 seasons of the tournament. It's absolutely insane to completely follow, especially compared to other tournaments like GSL and others.
Then again, the more games, the better (possibly). The more games that are casted, the more likely an especially epic game will come out, which is especially good for casual audiences who thrive off of watching the occasional epic Clide vs Leenock VOD instead of every match of GSL live.

Time needs to be refined once NASL starts.

I'm disappointed, was expecting some decent balance discussions, but they didn't take idra too seriously and trolled.

Yeah, I really wish they would have gone more into that balance talk. Idra definitely has some good points and I feel like more real discussion could have been productive. Otherwise, awesome show.

Day9 is annoying when he says he cant take balance discussions seriously. I mean he doesnt play the game nearly as much as the other players yet he immediately dismisses Idras claims of imbalance.
I am pretty sure Idra is more of an expert of sc2's state of balance since he plays sooooooooooo much, yet day 9 wont even take him serious and just instead says "im gunna have to resort to trolling any balance discussion"

This SOTG was a lot funnier than I thought it would be without Geoff.
Especially with the Zerg UP talk by IdrA.
|
ah so that post was the TAKATAKATAKA at the end of the podcast.
|
Nobody tried to argue why idra is wrong though, he just got
"well fruit won a gsl 5 months ago...."
"Morrow and Dimaga are doing okay I guess.."
|
I feel the same way as Idra about the early game volatility being a huge problem for zerg. I feel like many more bo3/bo5 series happen where zergs die to a stupid cheese or timing attack then in tvp.
Also, Day9s style of play is a ton of fun. In ZvP lately I almost always go ling/upgrades, blings situationally, mass expand, and shoot for a broodlord/infestor/ling mineral dump army in late game. It's a blast to play and very effective at a fairly high masters level of play. Definitely am not sure at all if it has any real high level potential, but for the vast majority of players that mostly ladder for fun it's a great style.

idra said some really good words towards the end

funny show, kinda bullshit no one too idrA seriously

That's why things like SC Center will be super clutch. You'll get to know the next day what matches were 'can't miss' or at least worth watching. There will be plenty of places to clue us in on what's important I think.

Think it werent discussed enogh how bad the open bracket / seed part of mlg is really unfair specially over a 3 day competition.
Also idra brought up some really really good points.
|
People don't realize theirs a smaller sample size of Zerg players, especially at the pro-level
|
I think one of the great things about the show is that it is very light on the balance discussions, which I prefer honestly.
|
Balance is such a touchy subject. You really need to preplan the discussion and back it up with some statistics.
It's wrong of IdrA to blindly call out imbalance and it's wrong of day9 to laugh at him for bringing it up. For SotG it's best to avoid it unless you plan to discuss it in depth.
