I don't really think State of the Game is really a serious strategic SC2 discussion type of show, so it's not really important that Taylor has recently had success or not; it's more important that Taylor has a pretty good personality for the show and has enough skill level to talk coherently about SC2 news.

It's a reasonable and completely subjective opinion. But yeah, Painuser is just as good as any other guest you guys have had on. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him or anything.

No, he said DT's are a much better unit than banshees. It's simply untrue, and as a random player, I have to say 100% that I'd always prefer banshees to DT's, in almost every situation.

Requoted for truth. IdrA is necessary for the dynamic. inControL is probably the funniest person ever. Tyler waits in contemplation and explodes on the scene with destructive humor. Taylor fits in well because he plays the straight man in many ways, like IdrA, but is responsive enough to let everyone else troll him the entire show and keep a smile on his face. I play random and DTs are far more of an "I win" button if the opponent is not prepared, as compared with Banshee. I love them so much, they require about 10x less micro to be effective and are a useful tech to have all game.

I laughed pretty hard when Tyler just got up and walked away from his chair while arguing with Painuser. Pretty funny stuff. And also, I thought Painuser was a pretty good guest to have. Seemed pretty knowledgeable and thought through his points well.. even if I didn't agree with some of them.

Best part is Painuser made a good argument re: defending expos vs banshees or dts. I'm sure you could back it up with numbers too. I see Banshees kill a lot, because they're easier to get, more versatile and thus a lot more common. But DTs seem to almost always do terrible terrible damage - look at MVP v Squirtle, i reckon Squirtle only won because of the damage his DTs did and and the supposed best terran in the world got crippled by it. Buuuuuuuut if you can laugh and giggle and breath into your mic who needs a well thought out reasoned arguement? I still prefer Banshees, i disagree with PainUser there. But DTs are so much scarier, i don't know how you can argue otherwise and that's PainUser's perspective and why he chooses the red pill. He prefers the scarier devastating unit over the one which is more versatile and requires less of an investment. Pretty simple, so it's odd that the Brotoss don't get it. Great show~! PainUser is definitely my favourite non-Gracket wearing guest.

The big annoyance has to be the hate casted at bronze/silver/gold league players over the "no losses displayed" change in the PTR notes. I'm a silver leaguer. The general perception seemed to be that we are clamoring for this as a confidence boost or something. I don't think anyone in our leagues care about it, thats just something Blizz is changing. But to say that we need a boost because we are "constantly being beaten down by equally shitty players" is just ignorant. Not everybody plays at a diamond/master level because there is other shit to do than play SC all day and get better. Its a hobby. So why listen to a podcast thats not aimed at low level players? Because we still watch pros play in tourneys and are fans. Thanks for calling us out as terrible players for not being great top 200 players because of UI changes that nobody asked for. The dynamic of this show has shifted a lot of the last few months. It used to be a good lighthearted discussion of tourneys and games but become real negative and empty. People don't pay attention and need to be reasked questions two and three times. Geoff uses it as a platform to hype his personal achievements that aren't game related. I'll say the show is trying to innovate with video but its too little too late. I'm done till Day is back. He at least doesn't act like an ass.

Invested and eager mapmakers always love it when u guys discuss map related issues. Awesome intro. <3 the cat... Besides it being a cat, it is an awesome overlay for future pillar flaming (by guests), it serves as a webcam patch and allows guests and callers who do not wish to cast their mug online (and that's cool too) to do it. = Priceless ![]() ninja edit: <3 <3. I agree with half of your post, and disagree with the other half. I love the cast, and disagree that it has become "hollow." I think that lately Incontrol has done a better job of being lass of an ass. He still has a good sense of humour, but he can be more seriousfaced, and more reasonable in discussion when he needs to be, rather than just being obnoxious all the time. However, I totally agree on the vilification of non pro-level players. We are casual players, we play for fun. We love the game, and love to watch the game. We pay for GOM/MLG/NASL(soon) VODs & streams. I get that you guys are better than us at the game. I get that we are not that good, and that you understand the game better than us. But if SC2 is going to get huge in the west, if people can make a living of playing/commentating on this game, then it will be in part because of people in the lower leagues who love SC2 but don't have the time/desire to get to masters, but LOVE to watch the game being played at a high level, and will pay to do so. I don't want the premier SC2 podcast telling me that I should shut up because I suck. This episode was not that bad on this point, but there have been times where they have really gone out of their way to make fun of casual players. They should be encouraging us to get better, not discouraging us from participating in the community. Wow. That rant was longer than I expected. PS. Pain user is awesome. I think the reason he gets crap is that he is a terran player prepared to stand up to the anti-terran hate and defend his race.

Just to say Morrow's ZvZ wasn't very good, he had to spend about 3 minutes heavily stressing how good he thought Morrow was and how it's a legitimate criticism. The horrible thing is, he said the same thing 2 weeks ago minus the cushioning and this thread was full of people complaining about all the hate for Morrow. I wonder at the mentality of those people.

Personally, I think Idra is probably one of the most unfunny people on this earth. I find him really snarky and snide, not funny at all. I guess I don't have a sense of humor though! All the other times I was laughing at Day and iNcontroL, I was wrong, you've just opened up new doors of my life with your fascinating insight.
