Do you think this is connected to what InControl is scheming?
Yup. I definitely do

I really hope it's a lot more than just a coaching project... :/

He said that it's not a coaching house atleast, think it was in the sotg 25.
From what I've seen and heard of Incontrol on sotg, streams and on mr. bitters show, it always looks he's trying to get people with the same skill level together and train with eachother (or one better than the other). I am thinking that maybe he will try to get an "online gaming house" that people who pay/subscribe to be in this house will have practise partners of the same caliber (or better), and function as a gaming house, just that it is online. Or something like that.

Six pool gaming team leagues!

The Pre-shows are hilarious, keep it up.

Are we going to get more announcements to announcements today? I think we didn't get enough of those.
I think we also need more hype with those announcements.

I think it has something to do with coaching, but I think it is something more than that. Like BleaK_ said, one thing iNcontroL seeks to do in his coaching (from what I have seen on streams/vods etc.) is uniting people of similar skill level who really want to practice a lot and improve. In Brood War this was much easier as there were channels that were dedicated to these types of players, as well as separate leagues/servers such as PGTour, and iCCup and more.
SC2 doesn't really have anything like this available yet. Not necessarily an SC2 version of iCCup, but something that can serve a common purpose in uniting motivated players. This is purely a guess, but I have a feeling that their big project is something that will fill this role in SC2. I'm not sure in what form this role will be filled, but I'm sure it will be pretty awesome. We'll just have to wait until the 21st to see!

In the bio section of sixpoolgaming twitter it states Top-level Starcraft 2 Virtual Training brought to you from some of the biggest names in the game. Register at www.sixpoolgaming.com for launch updates!
I'm somewhat disappointed. I thought the announcement was going to be a league/tournament in NA that would rival or be better than the GSL. I guess it's going to be like Gosucoaching.
Now don't get me wrong. This doesn't stop them from hosting a tournament, but if their main mission is about coaching, I doubt they would invest to heavily into a Starcraft 2 league and tournament in North America.

Yes, and it should be hyped. Perhaps with a showmatch to hype that they are going to announce the date to when they are going to announce the announcement. Minimum of 4 levels of announcing to announcements.
...............
Ok I'm getting confused just writting this up haha.

Think about what you are saying . You were expecting them to host a tournament with hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes? They're gamers, how much money do you think they have? Lol. I mean yeah there are sponsorships and stuff but I think that is still a bit too much to expect from them.
Also, look at the people involved. So far from my little bit of knowledge on the subject, the main components have been people from EG and also Gretorp, all of whom are part of Gosucoaching. The fact that it has something to do with Gosucoaching doesn't seem too surprising.
Just because it may have something to do with coaching does not mean that's all it is either. Gosucoaching already has a website where podcasts and vods are available. There's also things like Mr. Bitter's '12 Weeks with the Pros' and other recorded coaching sessions out there. Something that has been hyped up, even to a lesser extent then it has been, must be something a little more significant then what is already out there. That to me, is pretty damn exciting, since what is already out there is pretty awesome as it is. Anyways as I said earlier, we can guess all we want but we'll just have to wait until the 21st to find out!

We had 4 levels last week!
Level 1 : JP announcing incontrol had an announcement Level 2 : Incontrol announcing he was going to post a thread at the end of the show Level 3 : The thread which was an announcement of the showmatch for the annoucement Level 4 : The announcement itself
I demand that sotg makes at least 5 levels this week.............
Otherwise someone else will.

Although sixpoolgaming may be part of the announcement, I am confident that it is not the entire announcement for two main reasons 1. Geoff said it would directly benefit people in California or near him and 2. The address for membership cancelation at sixpoolgaming is Six Pool Gaming, LLC, 3644 S Fort Apache Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89147 read: not California. So while it is possible that this is the announcement I doubt that it is the entire announcement.
So flame on!

All I have to say about this is incontrol is not an idiot or a troll. He keeps saying this announcement will be bigger than anything in western e-sports to date, do you guys really think he thinks some new coaching apparatus is the biggest thing to happen to western e-sports? I trust your hype incontrol, cant wait to hear what the project actually is.

Well, we know that incontrol and gretorp will be part of this venture. I did some digging and I found out another employee for sixpoolgaming.
Kristal Steininger who is the Senior Director of Interactive Marketing at Six Pool Gaming.
Senior Director of Interactive Marketing Six Pool Gaming (SPG) Online Media industry December 2010 – Present (3 months)

So, you might be right. It might be more than a coaching site.

While I hope it's not, I'm pretty sure the lack of competitive gaming houses and places for people to eat, breathe, sleep and live their professional gaming lives is the reason NA is so far behind KR right now.
It might not be big for the fans, but something like that could actually be what's needed to put quality NA players on the same skill level instead of having to send them to Korea to train.
When the game first came out, everyone was on equal footing, but it's become more and more obvious that NA players are falling further and further behind. Watching 3400+ master league players completely neglect any sort of micro at all and still try to get their "fast" 4-gate PvP build out a full minute later than in a high level KR PvP ladder match is disheartening.

wow for a second I thought that was a local lan center that I really really don't like the owner of, turns out it's just a residential address. Really would have shocked me if person in question was involved in community project of any kind, still kind of curious who it is, I haven't tried to be involved in the starcraft community out here whatsoever though.

I'm guessing the big announcement is a televised tournament on G4. It's not ESPN, but it's still a big enough deal to hype up, and their studios are based in LA.
|
I doubt it's the big announcement. I think they are just helping to promote the new site. If anything I think it has to do with gosucoaching. Think about it, Gretorp and Incontrol started casting( at least consistantly) the GCPL. Gosucoaching has become a brand name in our sc2 world, if they change it to 6pool gaming, i think that might be a bit foolish. But the new owner of gosucoaching seems to be a much better businessman than louder(original owner) was.
