We have both, State of the Game and Inside the Game.
The new and improved SOTG is further prove of how awesome JP is. He started out with SotG 1.0, which was alright-ish but deteriourating fast. Then he made Real Talk, which is nothing short of brilliant.
Now he offers us SotG 2.0, which is so much better than the old one in terms of production, content, manner of discussion and just a treat to listen to all over. It mightn't have the big namepower 1.0 had, but other than that it has improved on any regard. Tod is surprisingly entertaining, Apollo is pretty much as brilliant as expected, Wolf brings the Korean-perspective, QXC the Terran PoV and Major, what should I say, that guy is just hilarious as well as the best gamer ever to grace a Starcraft 2 talkshow.
Mad props to JP for resuscitating a project I - quite frankly - assumed beyond redemption.

Yeah that was brilliant. Major rocks, he is like an improved version of incontrol: As funny, but with Mexican accent, insight in the Korean scene and knowledge of the highest levels of Starcraft.
I also love that now we have a Brit, a French dude, a Mexican, A North-American and a Semi-Korean on the show, as opposed to five guys from NA.

JP please make major a permanent member, or try and get him a job at blizzard. PLS JP

I haven't watched it for ages due to being rather bored with the old lineup featuring artosis, nony etc. But this new lineup seems really interesting and would deliver much better content IMO! Will check out the next episode.

The new SotG is way better than the SotG before the break and JP did a very good job.
Although the very first SotGs were maybe the most entertaining, people need to realize that it's not coming back even if they bring the same people into the new shows. The SotGs before the break were dull and the ambience of the show was "Why are we still doing this". The excitement of a completely new game, new tournament scene and new people (or known people in a new light) is NOT coming back.

I have to agree that I enjoy the new SotG more. I think the show needed a restart to feel fresh again, the old one felt like some get-together with a few friends who chitchatted for a while. The new one delivers value that lacked in the later SotG episodes, and it's also funny at the same time because of the different personalities on the show.

I'm enjoying the new episodes, but I'm wondering, was there a reason given for the entirely new lineup? Or is it mostly a mystery why the old "pillars" aren't on the show anymore?
Thanks. JP sort of explains it as much as he could in his youtube video announcing the return of the show I believe.

'twas a good episode.I admit I listened to it another time just to see if I could remember each time when Moonglade said:"you reckon?"

More starcraft and less drama
This is great

I'm really loving the new state of the game. Keep up the good work!

JP keep doing what you do, I really appreciate it, I'm at work watching your show and loving it. Major is incredibly hilarious and I would love to see him become some kind of regular on the show. Overall, SOTG 2.0 is great and as others have posted, very refreshing.

I love this new sotg, Nony would be great from time to time through, him, apollo, qxc and tod would have good discussions on the game I'm sure as they all have some great knowledge on the game.
Also majOr, so funny. Poor moonglade was kinda shy because of princess' weird jokes.

Not really, when JP decide to talk about "MLG Dallas" or whatnot, it's up to the invite to talk about the production aspect of things or the meta game / game aspect of the tournament. JP only decide of broad out topics (we see them on the side - for this sotg it was only MLG Dallas, Blizzard WCS, etc. and JP actually let the cast run the show when he feel they are on a good discussion and have things to say). For exemple Incontrol, who was very vocal in the old sotg, was as much as a caster / community figure than a player, and Artosis was a caster, so it was obvious they were going to take a lot of time talking about the production aspect of tournaments and the storyline behind it, while qxc or tod (and nony too I suppose) are more interested in the game.

People also want to be surprised, and it's hard to surprise people with drama because it hit reddit and TL a week or something before sotg comes in most of the time. On the other side, having the personal insight of a player on a specific match and his read on how it could influence the meta game is always interesting.

Just popping in to say I really like the new show so far. Tod/qxc/Wolf are all good hosts and Major was priceless on the last episode.

I think first of all there is still enough room to spice things up a couple of times. Depending on the guests you invite, you can always have a discussion that is a little bit farther away from match-ups and specific tournaments once in a while.
Second of all, I think in the long run a biweekly format would fit the show the most. There is just often times when there is not enough new stuff to talk about each single week (obviously not the case for this november), so weekly shows could very well be very repetitive very soon. Although doing the show more often and keeping it a little closer to a 90minute show might also not be too bad.
All that being said, I just want to echo the majority vote in here and say that the new SotG is a breath of fresh air and just really well made. I did not expect that the show could be revived like this, before the break the show really was not very good for quite some time. Great job from JP.
