The idea that they believe there will be more viewers watching at 1am in Europe than at 7pm on the West Coast is HILARIOUS. Just look back at this thread and see all the Europeans talking about how they are not going to stay up until 3-4am for SotG even at this new hour. This also makes everyone even more likely to download user posted SotG mediafire VODs than wait 10 hours for JP to upload them to his youtube channel, which will cost him even more revenue. Hopefully once they realize their mistake they will bump the show back a few hours, will be much better for Artosis as well. I'm a little bit worried this move will end up killing off the show though ![]()

Frankly I don't care what time the show is -- I am only concerned about their viewership. Like I said, users post the VODs to mediafire within an hour after the broadcast ends and I usually listen to the podcast on the way to work anyways. The bigger concern is that they are jeopardizing the future of the show by making an ignorant decision.

Of course they put a ton of thought into there decision... and like JP just said if it doesn't work out then they will make a change I can't stand people like you who always pull out there pitchforks right away there's any kind of change chill out and watch the show.

There's undoubtedly a huge number of people like me who live on the east coast and can't stay up late enough to watch the whole thing (show usually ends around 2 AM), so we end up watching VODs the next morning. Also consider that most people with regular jobs/school hours are home by 7, so this isn't something that's going to cut into the majority of the PST viewercount. Sorry that the new time doesn't work for you personally, but it's actually a hell of a lot smarter viewer count-wise even if you completely ignore the EU folks. Your prediction about decreasing viewer counts is almost assuredly flat-out wrong, and it's really pretty self-centered to assume "I WON'T BE ABLE TO WATCH SO THE SHOW WILL PROBABLY GET CANCELED." edit: in case you don't believe me: In North America, the hours traditionally taken as constituting prime time are 8:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. Eastern and Pacific and 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Central and Mountain Time Monday–Saturday. On Sundays, prime time begins an hour earlier, at 7:00 P.M. Eastern and Pacific and 6:00 P.M. Central and Mountain, ending at the same time as on the other six days of the week. source

Now people in the EST time zone can ACTUALLY watch this which is a huge number of people. I know atleast 5 people were listen sotg and some of them don't even play sc. Beforehand, est people practically could not watch the show at all. SOTG has become a premier podcast for alot gamers, it's up there with the bombcast, and podcasts from other major gaming sites. As for the artosis part, that might be difficult for him, and if that doesn't work out, I think it should indeed be pushed back.

If they were targeting the East coast they would start the show 3 hours earlier and it would be at a reasonable time in North America. Pretty sure even at 7pm on the east coast there will be viewers who will still be getting off of work or have dinner time commitments on a Thursday night. ITG starts at 4pm/7pm on Tuesdays, and it has IdrA on it. Has that show ever come remotely close to breaking 7k, 10k, 20k viewers? I doubt it. Can anyone name anything that has broken those numbers at 4/7pm?

Television execs have been doing this for a long time, they know when most people are at home sitting around looking for something to watch.

I'm sorry can you please point to the place in this wikipedia article that says Primetime starts at 4/7pm because you seem to be confused about when it is lol. On another note, changing the time of the day will also potentially change the tone of the show. People loosen up towards the end of the day. Now Geoff, Tyler and JP will be doing the show before they even eat dinner...

Already quoted this part, but apparently you can't read so good. I know it's an hour off, but let's try not to be too anal.
