Thanks for the upload sotgpirate! I have no sympathy for MLG, the VOD was up alot faster when they didn't host the show.

Oh trust me it is, SOTG is proparty of MLG and you are probably not allowed to publish this anywhere else without their permission, that's why they disabled twitch archive and no longer do it on blip. Watching it is not pirating, uploading it certainly is, not saying MLG can or will do much about it, but technically uploading video porberty of mlg on various sites is pirating.

While it was suprising to myself i really did like Incontrol as host.

The terrible, terrible MLG player still doesn't work for me (It took me ~45 minutes of page reloading, segment skipping and ad tolerance to watch the ~18 minutes of MVP's Blizzcon interview). While I do not condone piracy and will stick to the MP3 for now, it certainly comes as no surprise that someone streamripped SotG.

Are you joking here? Isn't that just like saying its movie companies fault for letting their movies be filmed and put on the internet? Next thing your going to say is they make enough money and one less view isn't going to hurt them.
EDIT: Personally I hope the person who posted the stream rip on here gets perma-banned. But I'm a nobody and most likely wrong, just my thoughts.

Why are people praising the pirating of a free product? It's free for us, but MLG pays it for via advertising, why are people abusing that?

Not the same thing, MLG is beeing greedy and inefficient here.
Ok you people are really clueless, so lets get some facts straight:
it is NOT pirating, as the the guy who uploaded it is NOT making any profit at all, and that is the big difference.
The reason why this was ripped is because MLG is offering a poor service, and are claiming that they cant upload it before 24 hours, yet this guy on his home with no insider resources has done it under an hour. He did it not to make money or anything, but actually to help MLG, he is prooving that this is quite easy, and this will probably make MLG step up his game and get a decent video encoding system or somthing to fix this.
Right now a lot of people just listen to the mp3 instead of watching the stream cause it is too late, so, if this rip in the long run gets more people to watch the vod after mlg fixes it, they will get more money.
and you want me to get banned? lol why so angry

Meh, if it is getting to the point where people are actually starting to "pirate" a podcast then you know that you have messed up somewhere down the road.

Thanks random guy for uploading the VOD. I love MLG but it's a bit silly that it's taking 3-4 days to upload when before it was just JP and it was up the next day.

Thank you SotgPirate! Saved my morning. The last few weeks have been frustrating, waiting for the 6 part VODS.
Also, downloading the vod as a video file is awesome. Now i can watch this on the train on my smartphone, without relying on my 3g connection :>

True. I could also stream blip on my phone. But not with MLG player.

I do want to understand and you make valid points but..... Let me have another shot at this.
You stating that it is MLG's fault for offering a poor service and the claim that just because the person who pirates it isn't making any money = him not being illegally responsible due to no financial gain. What about the people who download songs and movies illegally and do not sell them but then find themselves being sued (PLEASE correct me if I have this wrong). Doesn't this fall under the same thing because this guy is stopping MLG from making the money they deserve for providing the service?
I totally understand that everyone is pissed because JP or MLG staff take so very long to produce the VOD's.... but it isn't your call to steal the show from their site (which they post there on purpose to make money). If you guys are pissed, stop watching it and if a large enough number of you boycott the podcast then they will produce the VOD's faster but stealing it is not the acceptable way.
I'm angry cause this 4000 word paper is taking me longer than it should :D
EDIT: spelling mistakes and shitty grammar, sorry.

Hate to break it to you. It's still pirating. Reloaded and Skidrow don't make profit off ripping Battlefield 3, it's still pirating.
But let's have some real talk here from the man, the legend, Gabe Newell who has repeatedly said (I'm paraphrasing),"If the pirates provide a better service, we deserve to lose." It's that simple.

What was the Justice system thinking.... They should be in contact with Gabe Newell when assessing pirating laws... Come on..

Exactly. The days of people making illegal CDs is head. Throwing albums in the Internet is exactly the same in the eyes of the law, so yes it is piracy, especially considering SotgPirate does not have intellectual property rights over any part of SotG

They should have used common sense. It's rather a shame to rely on public figures to come to such a conclusion. Just don't mystify law-making with terms like "justice", since both don't have any relation.
