I want to listen to these guys talk strategy, not who's playing who in MLG and GSL. It's like the facebook and twitter of Starcraft. I don't care who's playing who. When you have the chance to listen to 4 or 5 guys of this caliber talk about the game in one place, I want to hear what they think of THE GAME. Not WHO is playing it.
yeah i keep tweeting every week @jp that they should talk more about the game not the stuff around.
but maybe im the only one who doesn't care about predictions because they are always the same.
artosis picks a korean <3 inc hypes someone from eg <3 day9 is a fanboy and picks someone that he likes <3 and tyler agrees with artosis. <3

I thoroughly agree with this! Imo, the most boring part of sotg is when you just go through a list of players and try to predict who's gonna win.
ya its not really state of the "game"...more like state of gsl/mlg.

will the VOD be uploaded at all? So they mean next wed morning and not yesterday morning?

They barely talk about GSL anymore though. But yeah I agree, but oh well their show.

lol so true ^^
I also agree that inviting some not-protoss players would bring much to the show..

I think the predictions are good, but I'd prefer it if they didn't spend 30 minutes looking at the pools for MLG every time, then spending like 5 minutes on DH Valencia
But I guess for strategy there is always itg if you want to hear that you should only get a robo in a 1/1/1 scenario if they get cloak )... -_- But yeah, SotG has never really been about the hardcore strategy discussions

bracket predictions are fun when the discussion intersects with playstyle/strategy and discussions of the metagame.
Their current format could use some work though-- going through every tournament, bracket by bracket and having every guest in turn give their thoughts (which mostly consist of 'Nope, nothing to add, Dan/Sean/Tyler pretty much summed up my thoughts) isn't the most effective, and I think the pillars themselves get a bit tired of it judging by their tone of voice/word choice at times.
EDIT: finally just broke down and listened to the MP3. Use that bandwidth elsewhere I guess.

Maybe talk about the tournaments after they've happened instead so we get to hear the results and stories instead of boring predictions that no one gets right anyway.

JP failed this week wow such a dissapointment

You have to keep in mind that DH Valencia was an 8 player single elimination bracket, while every 2011 MLG event has had group play (5 players before GOM partnership, 6 including the Korean invites), and a double elimination championship bracket.

I, as well, would like them to talk atleast some about strategy. Now they only talkb about match-ups, predictions and sometimes "balance". Wich is basically someone makes a funny rant about the marine or infestors, then it's all like "haha that's funny, but let's not get into a discussion about balance here guys"

Funny, how some of you are complaining so much about the content of the show, yet F5'ing every other minute to find out if the VOD is there yet.
It is after all a 2 hour show - a free show at that - can't they spend time talking about current tournaments?
|
noooo, i really really like the show.
just wish it was more about strategy and less formulaic.
|
Yeah and I just wish one could actually watch it

Nothing more heard from JP? i've been checking his tweets, but they all seem to be about BF3 -.- kinda makes me feel like when they said that there was going to be a VOD for the SOTG they had at raleigh...
|
I totally agree, more startegy, deep talk would be so awsome from day9 and Artosis, they two understand the game inside out
|
OMFG TOOOOOOO LONG
jk <3 JP

still waiting on that vod =\

This :/
Surely we have heard enough about "waah theres 20 terrans in GSL" and "booohooo Koreans are gonna take top 6 at MLG" can't we have another in-depth conversation on SotG like when IdrA and Day9 argued about Zerg scouting?
