Monitors are cheap, especially when you're sponsored by a bunch of computer hardware companies. Or just use the program R1CH made. This is like the 4th or 5th DRAMA thing to come from an accidental alt-tab by iNc.

I just want pro players and the like(day9,jp,chill etc) to talk and give us a show! I don't care about anything else, I want ESPORTS!

That screenshot is pretty damning. Scoots told iNcontroL not to cohost SotG anymore, but they decided to lie about the reason instead of just telling it to us straight. Why the lie? People would understand if he had to switch to Inside The Game due to contractual reasons. Just be straight with the community if things are being done for business reasons.

Yeah you'd think more streamers would use R1CH's program since it solves every problem ranging from Tyler's converstaion on msn and now the 800th time skype conversations have popped up. Thats up to the players. Monitors are cheap to an extent but afaik EG isn't sponsored by any hardware companies that manufacture computer monitors.

Raises questions, sure, but this seems like an unnecesarily big shitstorm over such weak evidence.
I don't see how the image can be weak evidence, it's pretty straight forward. Unless you think the text just before it (that isn't shown) says, "The following isn't true at all" or something, I don't see how it can be misinterpreted.
Scoots told Incontrol that he couldn't be on SOTG. Scoots heard that Incontrol told people he would not be coming back to SOTG. Scoots tells Incontrol that he didn't say he could NEVER be on SOTG again, just that he can't be on it as an official host.
Pretty clear cut.

That's understandable, at least in my eyes. But because they played it off as nothing people ran with it and have made it into way more than it is, TL'DR why didn't they just come out in the first place.

The deception is what people are angry about. i dont feel deceived ... any time something with no real financial backing continues to exist i consider it a miracle. where is the deception? I'm assuming you did not read the last 10-20 pages? The story was that incontrol left SOTG to practice more, yet he stays on ITG. People thought EG was behind it. They denied it. Now it is shown that EG will not allow their members to become a staple in a show that is in somewhat the same realm as ITG. While Incontrol probably does need more time to practice, they blatantly lied about them not wanting their members on SOTG full time. It is pretty obvious where the deception was. Especially when people/players are assuring the community that EG is not affecting the decision in any way. In reality EG does have a say in what happened, they just don't want any bad pr. So the result is a partial lie to make them look good. first of all this is all speculation... but what could've happened is what i stated. no specific "non-EG side project" banned from participation. more like "guys keep posting these crap results and you are gone.. 6th place out of 8th in our own team event is unacceptable". there are activities on the payroll and then their are "extra side projects" keep in mind Incontrol also quit NASL and he didn't quit coaching.. gee i wonder which 1 pays more? what i see are a bunch of ego-centric whiners who think the whole world revolves around their needs. and if their needs are not attended to they whine.... you know what man.... 1,000,000 things happen every day that impact your life and mine... and no one is ever gonna tell us a damn thing. let me state again.. i like SOTG, and i am unhappy its not on any longer. however, in the scenario i provided "the SOTG fans" are simply "collateral damage" no direct orders... in fact... the guys who feed EG money that saw their crap results who might be SirScoots indirect boss and decided to tighten the reins on the "pro team" might not even know what SOTG is.... muddying the waters with my great theory here is Incontrol's track record of finger pointing at colleagues when the heat is on and constant retractions and apologies. welcome to the real world personally, i prefer the Neil Armstrong/Idra approach rather than the Incontrol/Buzz Aldrin approach to dealing with all this speculation.
Welcome to the real world? Lol, you have skipped over pages then. because I understand the business aspect of it. Geoff leaving is not the reason SOTG has been off the air for a few weeks. The SS is specifically speaking to SOTG and Tyler has already spoken about the best way to go about wanting players to practice.

E-Sports. The term sounds like electronic sports, right? That's what we're all watching and participating in?
In normal sports, like Basketball for example, a player like Kobe Bryant cannot just appear on any given commercial for people. The team has contracts with people, and since Mr. Bryant plays basketball has his profession, it's in his team's best interests = his best interests. What this means is that his commitments probably have something to do with supporting his team, in some way. Whether that's appearing on a talk show, or appearing in a commercial - These things help him, and help the team he's apart of.
For people who care complaining about iNcontrol and State of the Game... stop being dumb. His reasons for leaving the show have nothing to do with your personal life, or even the life of esports itself. It has everything do with what Mr. Robinson must do in his life to become a professional gamer. These things include dedicating his time more towards things that his team is a part of - In this case, Live on Three and NASL casting.
TL;DR - Being a serious player isn't JUST about playing, it's about making the right commitments to help your career, and the career of everyone personally attached (aka, team, family, significant other) to your career. Stop being so attached to something that's only put on for your amusement. Instead, be happy that these people are spending the time to give you something to watch and enjoy.

Makes perfect sense. This is why we can't have nice things, the SC2's communities ability to completely make anything in Epic Drama! is really getting quite old and annoying. We don't have nice things in the SC2 community? Seriously? Take a look around. The reason people cause drama is because they care about the nice things we have. "this is why we can't have nice things" is a saying that generally implies that whenever something nice is made by a group of people a larger group comes and ruins it. Also people cause drama because they refuse to check whether or not the 30 seconds they spent rushing to a conclusion about something isn't completely wrong. SOTG is not on the air because JP was busy moving and players were gone. The issue is with the lying about why Geoff left the show. That should be obvious by now, unless you didn't read everything else or atleast check the screenshot and jumped to a conclusion. I know the issue is with someone lying about Geoff's motivations. Which is why I was asking what made anyone treat that as fact between a screenshot of scoots very much not confirming that, and tyler rambling about how EG is fucking terrible and no one should support them loljk.
That I mentioned specifically that blaming Geoff for there being no sotg was hyperbole in the same post makes me think that you only read the first few words of it, and then jumped to the wrong conclusion.

I think most people understand that, they would've just liked it if iNc said, sorry SotG, but I have to do what my sponsors want me to do, because at the end of the day, I'm a player first, and I have to honor my obligations and contract and people would be like, bingo, understood, gotcha, look forward to you on SotG as a guest in the future.
But no, he says "I got other things to do, I'm busy etc etc." While that all may be true, that's not the primary motivating reason as to why he left SotG.

What if tomorrow in an interview Kobe said: "Sorry guys, I was asked to do a few commercials for _________ next week, but I declined because I can't miss out on those practice hours."
It's not a perfect analogy, but neither is the argument. I'm tired of e-Sports <-> regular Sports parallels because it's extremely erroneous, and "regular sports" is already a really broad spectrum. It'd be just as silly of an argument for a Baseball fan to say "well they do it this way in basketball soo...."

Haven't you ever played Phoenix Wright? You've got to bring up the only tiny shred of evidence you have and use it to stall for long enough until the witness slips up and gives you your big opening!

Well... I await to see if EG will actually answer these questions openly or if they will continue to respond with inconclusive half-answers. Until then I will be avoiding any project they are a part of...

He didn't even just say that, he and scoots both said that EG was not telling him to withdraw from SotG but do ITG, and they mocked the "conspiracy theorists" who ended up being justified in their suspicion. I'm not even one of those people, I trusted what he and Scoots said, and it saddens me that they would deceive us.
Just want to add I like both Incontrol and Scoots from a personality side and I feel like they really let me and a lot of the community down with this, I hope they do the right thing and just clear the air.

Yes, I wasn't being literal with "This is why we can't have nice things", the SC2 community is blessed with an amazing cast of people who put countless hours into creating the content we all love so much. However the fact that people just come on to the forums just to rage about whatever conclusion that they decided they like the second they found out about some piece of information is quite toxic (imo) and is starting to make me spend less and less time reading these forums as I'm tired of the endless page after page of people leaping to conclusions, yelling, vilifying and above all else defending their interpretation rather then bothering to think things through.

All this lying and deception going around... /cry
For the people saying that screenshot says nothing, just stop. If you can connect two dots, figuring out what has happened here shouldn't be too hard. It is quite laughable that a guy calling for tranceparancy chose to do this the way he (Scoots) and Incontrol did it, when if they had only been transparent, people would have accepted/agreed with their decision. But is is a big deal? No, not at all.. But people love ze drama!

Seconded. Its clear this was a private conversation and there is a reason they call it private. If only someone could stop the random skype drama with the power of technology, we could focus on....well anything else really.
