Let me ask this... Did Michael Jordan have a choice as to whether or not he represented the NBA when he was a player? No. His actions were closely watched. I think that as SC2 grows, players like Destiny, incontrol, idra, and other people like Djwheat, Day9, artosis, etc are going to become the michael jordans of SC2. If they play sc2 as pro gamers or as commentators, they will be the voice that sponsors like razor, steelseries, etc see first when they decide whether or not they will sponsor esports.

So, whether or not some of destiny's comments are ultimately right or wrong, we need to look at how such sponsors are going to view the specific language that was discussed on SotG. That kind of language could very easily affect whether or not certain sponsors choose to support SC2.

I know that Destiny's claim is that he doesn't want this kind of notoriety, or that he doesn't want to gain the kind of fans that are offended by his language, but I want to know if it's worth it to potentially hold back the whole SC2 E-sports scene, just to maintain his image among his current stream fans.

Destiny is more like Dennis Rodman, and he got more people to watch basketball too. Incontrol is more like a Scottie Pippen.

I am glad that you largely gathered the more important points of what I was trying to say -_-

Or maybe they would rather have another person who is more knowledgeable? Destiny is good, but he is not a Tyler, IdrA, or Incontrol. I'd be happy if IdrA became a regular.

How is Destiny not knowledgeable? He is actually a solid player despite what many people think, and he contributes intelligently to conversations.

It felt very hypocritical to hear the response to Destiny using "rape" when every other word on the show was "s*@t", "f@#k" and "Jesus Christ" and "F@#$ you, Huck", all while "representing" the community. (Apologies for so many quotes)

Hey iNcontroL, it was great listening to you on SoTG every week. I've been following the podcast since its inception, and the early episodes were really great, but as soon as you came on as a guest, it was obvious that you were going to become a pillar. You were hilarious from the beginning and really helped the show to develop into what it has become. You helped to give the show a much more humorous edge to it, and many of the things you said were absolutely hilarious. It is sad that you have to depart from the show, but I just wanted to thank you for being on it and helping to make it so great.

Im sorry but that is completely false. You are exaggerating the amount of swears by multiple factors. Also you missed the point of what they were arguing over. It was not swearing in general but a few select words that were offensive that they were debating the use of.

If this is accurate, that's unbelievably gross and any community that accepts/celebrates that is diminished by it. I know no one cares what my opinion is, and it's not like I've been a part of this community anyway, but I would ashamed of myself if I didn't speak up and say, "That's not in any way acceptable."

I wouldn't worry about this.

I'm sure as e-sports grows and become alot more professional we will see players and casters distance themselves more from the community just as they do in every other sport.

In fact I don't understand why EG have not already sent Incontrol to media training because he's way to frank, opinionated and hilarious for a man in his position.

It's just a matter of time though and I'm sure everyone is looking forward to it.

Silly as it is to quote myself I like how I wrote this sarcastical response and 2 weeks later Incontrol has quit the show and spent the majority of his last one talking about how everyone has to clean up their act.

Not that I blame him at all for it since he gets to be involved in a lot of cool projects; just sad it has to be this way.

SC2 does not equal the NBA. SC2 equals "basketball"

MLG, NASL, IPL, GSL those are analogous to the NBA.
the NBA employed Michael Jordan. Like how MLG and the
other esports leagues employ the casters you listed.

SC2 does not employ Destiny. He uses SC2 as a means to make a living.

No my comment had the assumption that he was less knowledgeable than Tyler, Idra or Incontrol. Reread the post if you had a moment where you skipped part of my post.

I gave him credit for being good in other posts, but he is not in GM and more importantly has not produced results at tournaments yet.

You are making assumptions about my post that are not true.

idra, tyler, and incontrol (well no loner incontrol) are already on the show. how could you rather have someone replace incontrol who is already on the show? you make no sense.

i find it hard to believe you think Incontrol should be listed with Tyler and Idra, Destiny's sc2 results are only slightly worse than Geoff's.

not according to the recent Blizzard-Kespa negotiations. Kespa tried to argue that Blizzard can't control starcraft because starcraft is like "basketball" and not the NBA, but that didn't work out so well for them.
