He did reply, I think one or two other people in between the two of them. He basically said that he can't do much with an attitude like Idra's. If he doesn't want to respect TL's rules, he shouldn't post, and if he does, great. Idra said he would say what's on his mind, but he also said he deplores the current state of TL and won't be posting here much going forward anyway. And that means fewer run-ins with TL's moderation staff.

He did reply afterwards, but it was (I forget) about like 15 seconds before he responded? I felt that it was just an "okay, whatever," rather than a telling to him to respect the rules. I mean look at the strategy forum. Because of this purge, the strategy forum has drastically improved, however, if this trend is the same with the way idra talks on the forums, there is a chance that people will copy his style. I'm not saying that he should have had a full out argument, but there should have been something a little more harder than an "okay whatever."

but then Idra just says no.
I understand that i'm part of the new flock that these ex-BW players look down upon, but Idra needs to take the same advice he told tyler the SOTG the week before, it may not seem like it to the players, but TL is actually "the" place to go if you're into SC2, oraganizations make their announcements inside of thread on these forums. I have no idea how this kind of eco-system came to be, it's pretty amazing, but it should be apparent that this forum encompasses almost all of the entire western sc2 scene, and things said on (or relating to) these forums have a greater impact then the typical game forum.

its an old TL story and rumour which is of course, completely false.

No, I'd bet Kennigit knew full well going into the discussion that his main point would basically amount to an "okay whatever." He has no need to tell Idra to respect the rules - the latter has over 1k posts on here, has been a pro-gamer and member of this community for years, knows the rules and norms, and will act in whatever style suits him. As Idra said, he won't be as active posting on this forum going forward, apparently. To your other point, no one else can copy him, per-ce, because no one else has the cachet of Idra. People can post, or tweet or w/e, telling members to send PMs to whatever moderator banned them for a month, but who will actually follow that directive? If another pro-gamer were to pull the same stunt, I doubt it would be as effective as what happened with Idra and, even more fundamentally, can't see inControl or Tyler actually bothering to flout common sense like that.
Kennigit gave an anodyne response to help let the issue die a natural death. And that's what it is doing.

The SC2 community is nothing short of Justin Bieber fans sometimes. I wish people would cut out the fanboying of people like Idra and Day9 all the time. You can't even watch a stream anymore these days without people in the chat spamming stuff like 'IDRA SO SEXYYY' And now this whole bandrama is going on for far too long aswell.
Ontopic: I don't think MLG really thought the whole GSL thing through well enough. Are people watching MLG really looking forward to a few koreans being forced in they might not even know? And what does GSL gain from sending players themselves? Koreans would have to watch at silly times or watch replays, both not very appealing.
One sidenote. Incontrol showed once again that he is quite the petty manchild. On this episode he called TL mods a bunch of douchebags because they gave him a warning for telling someone to 'stfu plz'. So I said in the jtv chat: 'I bet you'd ban me if I told you to 'stfu plz' incontrol' *permabanned* Hypocrite.

I thought that whole discussion was one of the most interesting parts of the cast. In a lot of ways it's kind of a continuation of a lot of discussions that they've had over the last few months and even from other parts of the show. Tyler has talked in previous shows about how no (or very few) pros visit the TL strategy forums anymore and Greg has said that he only posts to respond not really to discuss. I'm not sure what Kennigit would have said to Greg. There's only so much they can threaten posters and he had already talked about how they issue bans. If Greg doesn't feel like he's missing out on something by not being able to participate in TL discussions, what can they really do? I don't see it as an EG vs TL thing. It really sounds like it's more of an issue of people trying to sort out how they interact with all of the new people since SC2 has taken off. My impression of what Kennigit was saying is that moderation hasn't really scaled that well with the explosion of members. They've thrown around some ideas about how to drain the vitriol from the forums (unmoderated forums, pro only forums, etc.) but at the end of the day if the community doesn't want to have discussions there's no artificial barriers or incentives they can create that will make people play nice.

I really think you guys should get IdrA and Spanishiwa into a discussion about their different playstyles. That would be nothing else but EPIC!

racist or not, it's funny to a majority of people, which is all that matters
|
I say the N-word (already got banned once for typing it here xD) on a daily basis pretty much, and I have no dislike toward black people what so ever. I know quite a few bad ass black dudes actually, and am a very friendly/nice person, the kind of dude that holds the door open for longer than normal.
Because I use the N-word frequently alone, or with friends, I'm now racist? Even though I have no ill feeling toward any race.
Seriously, people are just people. Color of skin matters not a slight bit as to what kind of person you are.
Honestly the ONLY thing about a persons appearance I will judge upon is size. I straight up hate straight up OBESE people. I frankly just don't understand how the fuck somebody could let that happen. I mean fuck dude, if you have that much fat, you can go a good couple days without eating anything at all, and just live off your fat, and yet they just keep shoving food in there.
Fucking do not get how fat people happen.
Skin color on the other hand, just doesn't even fucking matter, nor does what one says in their own space. If in person, some guy says "you're a bad person, and a drag on society, you dumb ass black person" then yes, that person deserves some pretty bad things. If online in a joking manner you poke fun at certain stereotypes, thats just funny.
The only way to truly judge a person is by their actions, and their intentions. Anything else is just stupid.
I really don't understand this crap logic.

I wasn't joking at all. My impressions are forays into the mentality and mindset of another "people." I find the practice to be scientifically important and astoundingly critical towards my ever going pursuit of knowing the mind of my fellow human beings.
If you delve even deeper (INCEPTION) you will find I have an even more all-consuming impression of each persona I do. I literally become the man for which I impersonate. Down to a molecular level.
