Implying the MC was very good and that's why he got into the A-team in the first place is kinda misleading in particular; MBC is one team that gives a lot of the other players chances. Let's say Jaehoon, he's been having below average results for years... if he switched to SC2 it would be wrong to overly give him credit for being in the A-team, although he is a very good player in comparison to most. But to be fair Intrigue's article was kinda pointless and inciting, it's bound to make people take a defensive stance in favour of the scene they are highly active in, i mean of course it is; Especially from people like IdrA, Incontrol and basically any top foreigner player because they directly were hindered from progressing to the top level because of how BW is structured and developed. So they've got their own biases in the matter too remember. I think at the end of the day the article is just reflecting the fact that some hardcore fans who came from BW are just a bit bemused by the overhyping (also somewhat frustrated by nature of the game itself, even JP was pointing out a lot of the GSL games are basically not interesting lately). It's frustrating that we know there's RTS players who would do great against the current champions, but the entire foreigner scene is focused elsewhere. There's no reason to not watch and enjoy both. Maybe the next player we will see is Kwanro unless he's quit progaming entirely. There doesn't need to be a total split with people getting defensive and taking a siege mentality on both sides.

And Intrigue was GROSSLY exaggerating how "bad" sc2 pro-gamers are playing compared to top BW players.

Out of all the things that one could possibly nitpick in intrigue's article, the fact that top BW play is leagues above top SC2 play is one unimpeachable truth.

This is not what i said AT ALL. It doesn't matter if BW's play is amazing, saying SC2 players are terrible when comparing them to SC machines is dumb.

ST_Ace didn't play against Filthy when he came down to Australia, in fact he dodged all of FXO. He beat a bunch of Australians that you don't know about (yoon and Light) He did play me though. I took a game off him! That was great...

Just because someone has been put in a position of authority doesn't mean they should abuse it and ban people because they have differing opinions. Because they are mods doesn't mean they are infalliable and shouldn't be questioned. SotG has always been a place to voice your opinions and that has always been a draw, stifling opinions just ruins the fun of the show. Just because someone has a keyboard and computer hooked up to TL means that he should behave like an idiot who can use insulting language whenever he likes. Everyone of us is part of this community and if YOU dont respect the others who are part of this community by using your foul language you should not expect any respect for you coming from the community. "What would happend if these guys moved over?" Until they do and we can finally settle this matter this discussion will continue to exist. Flash dominating SC2 or not is not really the topic to discuss it's that lingering "what if"-feeling that BW fans have an issue with. But then again if you never followed BW and just enjoy SC2 why care ![]()

He's one of the very very few foreigner who's actually has an actual insight into the foreigner scene. For everyone who thinks that Idra's insight misrepresents the Korean SC:BW pros that moved to SC2 is poor, are talking way out of place, who've never actually had the same experiences as Idra. OK, but he isn't exactly the most unbiased person. In fact, I'd probably venture to say he's near the other end of the spectrum on a lot of subjects and this subject just happens to deal with him. He is one of the people that the article was talking about. If MC, Nestea and MVP are bad Brood War players who are only getting by because of a lack of competition, what does that make idra, both in Brood War and StarCraft 2? This viewpoint is a direct attack on him, even if he wasn't mentioned by name. These kinds of subjects are generally not those on which I would trust idra's judgment.
