People would find out and report people they dislike for example.

I wish there was an easy system to get blizz to look at these reports but I doubt they really pay attention to all issues when there are lots of balance complaints and other issues

But yes you are absolutely correct no automated system for this would be flawless.... but not reviewing the reports is just as useful as not having a reporting feature. Maybe my example numbers should be increased from 4 to 40 reports in a day... if you had 39 friends willing to mess someone's day/week up; you WILL find a way to make their life miserable ps. god bless spell check in this forum EDIT: if you don't agree with having an automated review of reports, would you agree to get rid of the feature....as obviously no one is sifting through these reports by hand?

I think this is a better solution than what I purposed, only hard to quantify what is a reasonable number for "a large amount of reports". Maybe a percentage of games reported out of games played would be more reliable than a static number of reports before review? Something on the order of >25% would flag the player for review?

Edit: I can't access the replay of the guy that maphacked the OP but my guys also did an aggressive 3 rax 1 fact build and didn't attack (I bunkered up). Is your opponents name Artanis by any chance?

But if people are already cheating... why even try?

people cheat at everything...think steroids in athletic sports... try not to let it get you down. Instead you should be pumped that you have a chance to school these hacking noobs, as the OP did !! Let them hack and move up in the ladder until they hit someone with impeccable macro/micro that will just pick them apart. Although VERY important; scouting is only one aspect of this complex strategy game and many other areas of focus, thinking of econ/military balance or even APM can still give a player a significant edge. So against a maphack, which I am assuming only low skill players are using, they get to save a few minerals and APM from scouting, and you may not be able to rely on hidden tech or drops as your nail in the coffin, but i expect a maphacker to have inferior macro from all of his "easy wins". maphackers are only human and can still be beaten !!

How about requiring that you look at the replay before you can report some1 of hacking? Then three reports lead to auo 1 week ban

Thus you dont give the players the ability to influence anything. report it and let blizzard handle it.

Edit: you'd be able to report as many people as you like (after watching replays) but you can't report the same person multiple times for the same offense

I originally placed in gold, worked my way up to platinum and am now ranked 10 there. I was really hoping to do what I can to learn the game more, focus on bettering my macro and micro, etc. and maybe get up to a low diamond eventually. But if people are already cheating... why even try? do you think tlo or idra let it stop them from practicing if they play some hackers on the ladder? hell naw, it might be annoying, but it's also just another challenge. beating a hacker is still practice.

Or is in a clan. That won't work too well, because people will just group ban someone that isn't actually hacking.
