Especially for new people. The suggestions are great and this can atleast make a caster overall better and if you go over by these points and apply this to the high level / famous casters then you'd notice most of them actually already do this (at most of those points the OP mentioned).

I remember having quite a hard time trying to be an observer in this year's WCG SC Finals for Malayisa (Unofficially lol) Thank god I had a partner so we pooled our newbie observer skills xD

If you can point out where I say that Commentators aren't allowed to make jokes and should be boring, then I will happily concede to you. yeah you pretty much did.

It is a big deal to see if he focus down the ones with lower healt or not. If he micros back the correct ones etc. I think having health bars on 100% of the time would be really annoying, the alt key and select feature is there for a reason, showing health when its important and not cluttering up the screen when its not.

![]() OH HEY WHERE DID THIS ULTRALISK COME FROM, WHAT A SURPRISE. Good post; Even as a non-caster it's helpful to read these thoughts organized in one place. It will help me stay more aware when watching replays. Thank you Flicky.

On a mroe serious note, I'm sure I watch several of the streams you got your inspiration from. I agree with most of your points but I feel like you want a very statical approach. I like my commentators to fool around a bit, as long as they keep track of the important stuff. A matter of taste I guess.

He's guilty of just about every single thing you mentioned and it's annoying as shit and very unprofessional.

What's more interesting? "Oh, he's got a fleet beacon and it doesn't look like the other player has any way of dealing with it. Guess we know who's going to win." or "HOLY SHIT, WHERE DID THAT MOTHERSHIP COME FROM?" I mean, SC2 is a spectator's sport. If you're just watching to get better, you can always watch replays.
