Activision-Blizzard is a company that seeks profit
Profits increase when their games are sold
The amount of games sold increases if their games are played competitive on TV for a lot of money
Thus Blizzard profits and they're happy as simultaneously esports grows
They might not have the same intentions as the fans of esports but improving it is still in their best interest. No company as big and successful as Activision-Blizzard will ignore a long term chance to generate profits just because they feel like doing random stupid things.

Yeah, that's why Korea gets a daily/weekly/monthly pay plan for SC2 and WoW right? Because that's short-term profit and not long-term profit, right?

It would stand to reason that Blizzard would increase sales during televised tournaments, along with the sponsors who's PC's and accessories were being used.

Why else would you sponsor tournaments? The entire point is to get your company's name out there and use the team as advertising, and it's not like any of the companies attempt to hide it.
