pretty sure theyll change it back to normal id adding and just want people to start using facebook to test it out and see if it actually works but if im wrong in that case: but yeah its stupid imo, might as well add everyone as real ID and give them your info and cc details
edit; took out unnecessary quote

Actually, I trusted them. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

The way the balance is going, and how horrible bnet 2.0 is, I am pretty sure I am boycotting.
This game wont become the next esport game.. hell, RTS as a genre is pretty much dead now after BW/War3. SC2 had the potential in early beta but now its clear Blizzard just wants casuals to play it, with all the buffs to terran (the casual newb race) and social features.
|
Blizzard cares less and less about it's supporters... it's sad. For the past 10 years I've been playing almost exclusively Blizzard games (sc:bw, diablo 2, wc3) and now they don't really give a damn about what the fans ask... I'm seriously pissed of with the last updates, specially this facebook thingy. I won't buy Starcraft2 if it has this kind of ridiculousness in it! Do they care? No, because there are thousands who will, even if they hate this as much as I do.

Guys i'm pretty sure they already announced channels upon release....

I wasn't going to say it (no one ever listens) but I have read that also.

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be so sure.

Buying it, but i'm going to loudly whine and complain about everything i don't like of course :D

Skipping the whole social thing, you are way too paranoid if you really think this. Stop pretending that everything Blizzard does is an attack against you, they're a game company that makes mistakes just like every other game company. I'm starting to think that people just want something to hate on; anything they don't like, it's the casuals' fault.

You break the rules if you use a fake name. If your account gets hacked you are not getting it back without your real name. That they then publish it in game is a bit strange.
I can't vote since I don't think the game deserves money in its current state. I am in the group that is playing while it is free.
|
I mind that, but not enough to NOT buy a friggin game of a decade, i mean... COME ON!
also this thread gave me a left4dead2 flashback... gamers-boycotters generate lots of lulz sure, but remember that this is blizzard, i don't think we need to go into such extremes as boycott, a shitload of whining should do the job.
|
SC2 just hasn't got that social aspect which completes so many games.
At the state is currently in, i wouldn't buy it.
I'd only buy if i knew it had been improved quite a bit upon release.
|
I will be making a new blizzard account for my SC2 key and this time I won't use my real name and regular e-mail. I won't boycott and I probably won't even have the energy to continously complain.

On May 23 2010 03:18 TelecOm1 wrote: Guys i'm pretty sure they already announced channels upon release.... Yeah. Well I am not sure if they have said specifically at release but they have definitely said that they ARE making chat channels. However pointing stuff like that out on these forums usually does no good because people just simply filters minor details like that out when whining.
Also, your real name is ONLY shown when you add someone as real life friend. That is why you can have in-game buddies and real life buddies. If it is a problem to you that your real life friends know your real name then either you should perhaps get checked up for clinical paranoia or you should just add people as in game buddies instead.

Actually no (at least for me). But I'm waiting for this game for more than 10 years now, so I have a quite high level of expectation.
And I'm pretty sure many people here are not just complaining because they are paranoid, but for a similar reason.
|
I'd make an account with fake information. Simple as that.

Maybe I could think that who's my real game friend isn't blizzard's business and I'm concerned about my privacy.
This isn't clinical paranoia.
However, ask for everybody to register on they're server to play any game is a paranoid behavior (even to play solo, or in « LAN »). And I really cannot trust a firm with such a paranoid behavior.
|
I will just make a dedicated email box/facebook profile for sc2 if they keep it the way it is. it is seriously dificult to keep contact with cool people you met in game tho hopefully they change it
|
So far, 74 people have lied and claimed they wont buy the game if it stays they way it is, lets see how many it could get up to.

I wasn't talking about the social aspects of the game, or about the game itself. Your quoting one phrase out of my post that wasn't even about the same thing doesn't help convince me that you're not overreacting.
