DjWHEAT is a good commentator, i think he only really swears a bunch when it's not serious. i know he casted some WoW games on MLG like a year or 2 ago. Tasteless hasn't casted SC2 but i'm sure he's much better than anyone else at casting...

Day9 is amazing for insanely in-depth replay analysis. As he is a real pro. Many starcraft years under his belt. You can find him under the "User Streams" right here.

Diggity is a really good commentator.Another real pro. Totally gosu. He has a youtube channel.

Finally goatrope "the goat show" is simply hilarious and educational at times. He has several "goat builds" such as the megarax. And goatrope is a top tier platinum player too. You can find him under the "User Streams" right here.

thegunrun and martijn (did i spell that right?) are pretty good, but what i dont like is that they miss things, even when they observe right they miss stuff and/or just dont mention it ... pretty weird oO

also i dont like that they get too excited about certain stuff, like the most annoying tactic in sc2, which is void rays in pvt. in the morrow vs phobos game yesterday it made me so angry that i had to turn off the stream. ^^

Chill, djWeat and Day9 made a fantastic team in the TLI yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed their banter for the full 5(?) hours.

Thanks for the mentions I got as myself and the nods at glhf.tv as a whole, I'm doing my best to improve our broadcasts when I can. Everything from reviewing replays from players to prepare for matches to keeping a notepad/playbook with plays for individual big name players.

And to let out some of the frustrations of the past week:
I hope people do understand that the game during beta changes so much there's no way to keep up with everything. Never mind the rather significant differences between players on the EU and US realm so no caster will get it right always.
Please give everyone a decent chance, too many people have been hating commentators for little to no reason. Yesterday I commented on a players build beforehand, then while he executed that exact build said "yes, early xx by yy, interesting" and right away had people go "omg he doesn't know yy's build!" Just because I call something interesting, doesn't mean I'm not familiar with the build or even surprised that a player is doing it.

And last but not least, STOP hating on Commentator X because you like Commentator Y and don't spam links to another persons stream in the chat. People need to realize that most the commentators are on good terms with one another. There is hardly any rivalry going on there. Commentators help each other with their setups and cover for each other when needed. So the last thing most of us want is to steal viewers from one another. If there's nothing going on, by all means, but I've felt obligated to apologize to other casters because viewers were spamming our link in their chat and I've seen it happen in our chat as well and felt sour. You are not serving anyone with this, this is not what the commentators want.

There, feel much better now, tl.net therapy.

That said, Day[9]'s by far my favorite sc2 commentator to watch and wheat is multigaming genius when it comes to casting.

gotta give some special love to gunrun too. although he might not be the best technical caster and the music he has in his playlist is terrible, he really has ambitions and has brought somany nice games to the people of sc2. still remeber how he saved the hdi? that was so nice. pure hero bear semen there. also big up to martjin?, keep up the good work, oh and gunrun, stop saying guys all the time, and no, folks is not acceptable either.
apart from that, gretorp!
i think he is smart and by that i dont watn to say that i am equally smart for spotting his smartness. its just, despite all his rational behaviour , i really sense a good emotional person behind that mic. and finally some hate: orb, stop swearing all the time. its just annoying. dont know what ppl like about your "rage". i think its just embarrassing. no offense! if all of you casters keep influencing eachother, we gonna have a mighty caster lineup when sc2 finally comes out. oh and dont forget, when the time comes, you gotta talk in way, so that also the newbs understand you, find the right balance, but for now i love that nerdtalk.
we still need someone who is really fast with the mic and has some hyper voice to push the viewers if something dramatic is happening.

day9 has definitely caused many commentators to step their game up in terms of knowledge.

But I have to give much respect for the guys like totalbuiscut who can get excited about every last thing from beginning to end.

My casts lack drama because when I get excited, its not acting. But, I'm still improving and I'm really excited about the future of sc2 in e-sports!

Tastless. He's the best commentator of them all, no doubt about it. I want to see him commentate live SC1 again.

Day9/Tasteless/Artosis, Chill, Gretorp

IMO of course.

If you think tasteless isn't a top tier amazing caster, Gom classic Jaedong vs. Tempest game 3.
Until I write you again, take care of your precious person.

Day9 of course, for his dailys and such. As far as just regular STREAMING --DaBoO hands down.

He's skilled, he talks to everyone in chat while he plays, and he commentates on everything he does. I like his stream a lot, its definitely a good thing to watch.

Hard to name a favorite since they all kind of have different styles. glhf.tv and attero would have to be my favorite two, although I'll pretty much watch whoever is covering anything worth watching.
Isn't it ironic and selfish to say that God made man in his image, when God was made in man's image?

Day9, Chill, Orb (when he's talking strat and not bitching), DJ Wheat, Gretorp, Lz, Nony. Unfortunately for Zerg players there isn't a lot of great strategy commentary specific to Zerg other than Artosis's stream. His stream is awesome, but he streams when I usually sleep and watching on-demand is annoying because his stream cuts out so much that you can only watch them in 6-7 minute pieces usually. But if you're willing to deal with it, his stream is definitely where it's at for Zerg.

Edit: And I just wanted to also say that Day9 and DJ Wheat together is a sick combo and I hope to see more of that.

Agreed! We love each other. I personally would be glad to work with anyone at any time, though of course if iCCup needs me to cover something I'd have to help them out first. Martijn, TheGunRun, Rise, whoever else is covering events and need backup, I'll be on Skype. =P

realistically only day9, chill, djwheat, goat etc are worth watching if u want to really learn anything at all. the other casters are, in large part, incapable of doing anything besides play-by-play as they clearly lack the game knowledge to make more in-depth calls or comments. A+ effort for those that put so much time and effort into casting though, but don't expect anything but play-by-play for the vast majority of the 'big name' casters.
