It's alot of things but funny ain't one of them.

Why does it seem like they got drunk before deciding on the zerg changes ?

MORE BUFF TO ULTRA YAY. Archons <3
|
Battlecruiser -The build time has been decreased from 110 to 90. We are trying to make this ship a little more useful. In reality this unit is easily countered by Corruptor, Void Ray, or Viking which may already be in play by the time it arrives, but we think it might see a little more play if it’s just easier to build.
So why isnt there a carrier buff as well? everything they said about the BC applies to the carrier, so what is the rationale behind buffing the BC but not the carrier?

im surprised zergs winning ratio is close to terran and protoss.

Yep. I was really confused by this aswell. I'm guessing they view the carrier in a better light due to the fact critical mass with them is still something to fear in ffa or team games, but c'mon, it's at least as-rare (if not more of a rarity) as the BC...
Ah well, it's not like we need another buffed air unit for every other race to cry about. =/

Talk about missing the point.

Ultralisks in MY ZvZ?
wut?

Their reason for the sentry change blows my mind. They must be the only people on the planet that "really, really" want more FFs to be used.

anyone have the hidden patch notes?

It's ridiculous how much people focus on small parts of the changes.
Look at the infestor changes. People just grab the part about ultralisks and run with it. But think it through...
- Ok Ultras are 100% countered by infestors, they stand 0 chance of dealing damage and avoid NP. - Actually it's a problem for Thors too, but that's a balanced counter... or is it? Players are able to quickly field infestors as a response to massive units, possibly in the time it takes them to make it across the map. This gives zerg an almost reaction based defense to Thors, especially given the energy cost of NP. It'd be better if players had to rely more on scouting and getting those infestors out sooner if they need to counter Thors. - Hmm, Zerg are really reliant on hydras/mutas to deal with medivacs (which really do need to drop to beat a maurader heavy ball) and mass void rays are pretty much insta win when they hit critical mass. How can we fix this to be a little more interesting, especially now that phoenixes are super effective vs zerg air and at overlord sniping)? - Infested Terran sucks, but the infestor has two awesome abilities so it's hard to give him a 3rd awesome one without making him insane. - Well look, if we make NP affect air, increase the energy cost, and put it on a research we've just solved, or started the solution to a whole ton of problems. Ultras can't instant fail on reaction to infestors, void rays can't hit a critical mass as well, adding thors to MMM has to be scouted rather than auto-countered by having infestors for FG.
It's kinda bs to just read into one small part of their blurb and not look at the bigger picture. As a zerg player I think the NP change is great. It makes some stuff a little harder for me, but it also makes the game overall more interesting.
Also I like the sentry change. It may not be perfect, but it is what they should be doing right now. A lower DPS will have a good impact on the smaller sized skirmishes.

+ Show Spoiler +Phoenix - Can now attack while moving. This is a huge change that allows a Phoenix to dance around Mutalisks and other air units and attack them while moving. Phoenix always did hard-counter Mutalisks, but now even a very small number of Phoenix can challenge a very large number of Mutalisks so long as they are willing to attack and move away. Use your Phoenix to keep out of the Mutalisk attack range while firing yourself and you can do a lot of damage to a pack of Mutalisks.
Praise blizz for reintroducing the corsair?

And now, somehow, magically, they aren't?

Definitly not the corsair w/o the splash damage, but they're now going to be able to scare off the 6-8 muta harassment squads in smaller numbers so that two stargates won't ever be necessary, definitly good news for toss in the air war against zerg.
Now i'd just like to see some replays of NonY using them to their full potential =).

"The Thor Strike Cannons have become an upgrade to try to help out the Ultralisk, who is countered so hard by this attack that we see very few Ultralisks in Terran vs. Zerg. This is (of course) not enough to really change that relationship, but we have some more plans for the Ultralisk in the next patch. " - Nethaera
O.O Ultralisk buff?
