Yeah, answer was so simple the winner had to use a Unix based program to manually change at what point he is accessing data to solve the riddle that will allow him to play a game that wont even run on Mac.

It wasn't hard. Now that we know the answer it's quite simple. We just lacked focus and misinterpreted your vague hints. Providing a better sense of direction and clearer hints for #5 will give a make for a less frustrating contest.
