I think you should probably end up on that list I put too, because as someone mentioned before, you do show promise to be something good in this community. And I think that you do understand the concept of more deserving people getting keys over us. I'm with jgju in hoping you stick around. Cheers ![]()

![]() I'm just wondering what makes one "worthy" of a beta key. Does it have to do with how much you've contributed to TL? Beacuse i know i haven't... Though i nominated myself for other reasons. Original post: + Show Spoiler + Like most of the people here, i too would like to nominate myself. I started playing BW 8 months ago, after finding out about how huge the community was and the proscene in korea. Finally i had someone to look up to, to idolize, something i never did playing pub games in TF2. So i took the first baby steps, playing 3v3 BGH games just to get used to the mechanincs, before starting playing for real in 1v1 games After 3 months i had hit C- for the first time, and it is soon after this i joined my first and only clan, Avatars of Victory. There i recieved tremendous help and the joy of having teammates really boosted me as a player, something i have never experienced ever in a computer game. Now i've hit C+ and continuously improving. Sadly, with SC2 beta out, most of my team members have completely abandoned BW to play the beta instead, and as a result there are very few people online nowadays. I would very much like to get a beta key, so that i once again can meet up with my clan mates and keep improving as an rts gamer, and also feel the joy of playing with friends. Which frankly are the only friends i have that plays starcraft. Now, i feel very lonely whenever i enter the abyss server... Yours sincerely, BoomJinx[AoV] If i get a beta though, i'll help out in the community anyway i can.

It's a cruel design to a contest, the organizers lose more respect from me than the participants. It's not cool to have fun at the expense of others. If you really think the community can sort itself out to leave only the most deserving participants in the list, you're being incredibly naive. Indeed, the only ones who will be getting keys are the most shelfish people who'd rather have no one getting a key than not getting one yourself. THAT BEING SAID i'm still going to remain on the list. But i am still as surprised as you the way the organizers decided to deal with this. I'm also sceptical if we'll be able to coordinate this using a forum... A raffle would've been more fair. Then that defeats the purpose of motivating why you would nominate yourself.

At least that way the keys can be recycled toward people who better deserve them, chosen by the moderators. Then we can be certain they will actually go to people who benefit this place.

Doesn't even need to be moderators, all it takes is one or two well trusted people to go through the posts and then decide. Beacuse i'm guessing the mods are too busy with other stuff than to deal with this. Shouldn't be too hard though, most of the posts here are people saying "i wanna stay on the list!!!". I wonder how many people actually bothered to motivate why they should be getting beta...

And a ton of those people who are saying "I wanna stay on the list!!!" just do so to ensure they aren't auto-kicked. They have no regard for the situation they're putting everyone else in.

All users who have opted in will have to post in the final two hours to confirm their opt in. This will be to remove all users who simply opt in and never read the thread again. On April 18 2010 04:15 frostsphere wrote: i will stay! You are not on the list.
