Challenge is over!
Now that it's over can you tell us the trick that was used to encrypt/decrypt?

I noticed that if you take the .png in r1ch's post and turn it into a .txt, the words "Starcraft II" appear right at the top. Everything else around it is nonsense though... wonder if I was barking up the wrong tree.

It also seems unnecessarily complex. I expect the "Starcraft II" words are just from a keyword the image was tagged with or something like that. Edit: Hurr

The text was encoded with base 64. This is apparent from the = at the end, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base64 for an explanation of base64. However, this would have been too easy, so the output was encoded with a substitution cipher, rot13: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rot13 If you decoded that, you would get the following message: "Alas, you have stumbled down the wrong path. Your efforts are not in vain, you just have yet to realize your true goal." Revealing that the text was merely a diversion. The only other thing in the post was the banner image. If you opened it up in an image editor and flood filled the background, you would discover a message hinting you onwards. If you then opened the file in an image viewer that supports metadata, EXIF, etc you would see a PNG comment message telling you to PM me on TL with a code to claim your key. You could even open it in Notepad to see that it says "Starcraft II", indicating something inside the image .The winner in fact did not manage to decode the text, but was looking at the image instead.
