I remember after IEM in Cologne, Wheat talking about dapollo. And it was all 'you know, the guy is great, I loved what he did but.....'. When you qualifying something like that, before launching into some (pretty strong) criticism, it becomes hard to take the initial qualification as being genuine. Even if it completely is. Like he said afterwards, he's a fan of the game, fan of the coverage of the game, and like all of us has an opinion (and unlike most of us, an audience ![]() Unfortunately Wheat let himself get sucked in by Mr Troll 101. Tell you what though, next edition of Weapon of Choice will have A LOT MORE viewers =] Nothing like a bit of edrama to reel in the punters ![]()

@karl181 - for the record dApollo contacted me after the show to get some suggestions on improving. I absolutely am going to help him out anyway I can. I personally enjoyed dApollo's casting but as a broadcaster for 10 years in eSports of course I'm going to be critical of other casters (as I'm sure many of them are critical towards me too). I think I said it pretty well, as a caster, everyone has their own opinion on what they like to listen to. But just cause I don't enjoy listening to "Caster X" DOESN'T make them a bad caster. It just means I don't particularly like their style. The reason I QUALIFY stuff like that is because even if they are the worst caster in the world... at least THEY are doing something for the community. I'm more in the business of wanting to make people better. And I'm not talking about from a game knowledge perspective... I'm talking about from a production/entertainment/personality perspective. As for all these posts about "wheat got baited by the troll". I just don't get it. The guy was beating around the bush and I could have just straight up hung up on him... but I'm going to let everyone get their opinion out... YOU JUST HAVE TO ACTUALLY GIVE IT. Don't do the dance around it... I'm a big boy, just lay it on us. I'll give every caller the benefit of the doubt to start, but if you're gonna yank my chain of course I'm going to go off on you. It's really nothing "new" on the shows. I've been doing that for years. Anyway, troll or not, I'm glad people got entertainment out of it. So thanks Jimbo, for doing the dance.

but my sensitive SC based sensibilities cannot help but be appalled by the treatment of women, the caller, young people, anal sex, mexicans, white people, black people, voice levels and movement in general. I demand a blog about how these things are in fact a myth.

Wheat's point is entirely correct, I've seen the same thing in podcasts and been attacked for EXACTLY the same reason by people like Jimbo and they definitely were not trolling. I don't have professional experience, at least not until recently, like Wheat does, but I have been in the internet radio game for over 10 years (which is how Wheat knows me, we're both connected to the same couple of organisations way back in the day), plus I've had a lot of actual, amateur radio experience in an environment where proper production and broadcast techniques are applied. It is a set of very valuable skills that many casters, whether they be shout, pod or broad, can use to up their game significantly. Constructive criticism from a position of extensive broadcast experience, Wheat was on the money the entire time in that show and my neck hurts from nodding in agreement so much while watching. Thumbs up.

You can't take TWO examples of this happening and then claim that EVERY TIME something is brought up it's presented in that way. That's horse shit. If you watch any of the shows you'll quickly realize that I (and all the other hosts) have no problems presenting something as we see it. The two examples the poster used were absolutely genuine. And while someone who's not familiar with this style of show may misinterpret it, I won't change the ways I do the shows or present an opinion about someone or something. Also Chill we had two COMPLETELY different views on the Tastosis thing. Where you were more critical about the game aspects, I was more critical about the production aspects... should we suddenly say, "well we're about to be critical towards Tastosis, so we can't say anything good about them at all". That's ridiculous. Another great example is the baneling video. I viewed it, I enjoyed it. I felt it was too long. I stopped watching. So should I have just left off the part about viewing and enjoying it and just said, "that video was too long". And left it at that? No thanks.
