As you know I've been part of the Starcraft community for 12 years. I first began playing as a wee lad in 6th grade using "only 1 cheat code a game," up to playing LAN games w/ my brother, to battle.net, to WCG tournaments over 10 years (anyone remember WCGC? :D), to now talking via livestreams as much as my time can spare. With so many fond memories, I've decided commemorate my Day[9] Daily #100 to a straight up lifestory of what my BW life has been like. For any of you curious about what my stories are like, I had to fill in about 20 minutes of time during the DeMuslim vs Insolent ZOTAC #6 game. So, you can find the example here:
I want to make my #100 as special as possible, so I'm creating this thread not just for awareness, but also so people can post questions of stuff they want me to talk about! Starcraft and parents, Starcraft and girlfriends, Starcraft itself. Anything you want! Just put it in an @question format in bold like
@question here is my question
That way I'll be able to distinguish it from discussion . I purchased a really nice camera so you'll be able to see my a lot more clearly for #100. I'm super excited to share my story!
@question: Do you regret investing so much time into a videogame? Are there any things you feel you missed out or shouldve done but were too involved in starcraft?
On April 08 2010 14:24 Earll wrote: @QuestionWhat sort of special gummyjuice does your parents feed you and tasteless so you reach the level of awesomeness that you are at today?
@question here is my question Talk about why StarCraft has been such an important part of your life, why you keep coming back to it, what it's meant to you. Basically, reflect on why you love StarCraft, and what you think your relationship with StarCraft II will involve.
@question: How did you get your girlfriend (possibly plural; girlfriends?) into playing Starcraft? did she already play when you met or did your enthusiasm for the game infect her with a curiosity?
I've been watching your show since a little before the Starcraft 2 beta came out. I'm new to the community (I only started playing SC1 when I got interested in SC2) and sometimes find myself a bit overwhelmed or exhausted by the way Starcraft punishes failure. I keep crawling along but sometimes I get the worry I'm not quite progressing.
Anyhow, to the point - @question Did you during the early days find yourself losing steam - that you weren't feeling up to it anymore, and would you address (if you did) what kept you going?
I've been listening since your first Podcast! @question: I think this is huge. Especially for a player like me. I get really nervous when I play online. I really enjoy the game, I love to watch it, I even love to play it, but I stress pretty hard trying to win- to the point where I sweat underarm or feel jittery even after the game has ended. Can you just talk about experiences you've had being nervous? Being in Tournament situations or even playing at home... you strike me as the very laid back sort- even playing important games.. How do you do it!?!?!
@question: day9, once you are finished school would you consider teaching a course on how to be a mega baller? i think i have it down, but i want to learn from the best~
On April 08 2010 14:33 Dionyseus wrote: @question: Have you seen The Fifth Element, what did you think of it?
I can answer this right now. I LOVE that movie. One of my top 10 favorites easily :>
what about blade runner :3
I started watching it but then realized "this probably doesn't have good graphics" and I immediately turned it off and spat on a photo of Harrison Ford.
Hi day, I've been living in boston for the past few months, but gonna be home for summer vacation back in Bangladesh. @question: My question is, is there going to be any way to download your casts as VODs, for us people with really crap internet that cannot watch the stream?
I really dont want to miss like a 100 dailys while im here T_T
I have two questions @question Between you and your brother who is the better sc/sc2 player? What would you record against each other be? @question Who is your favorite bw player of all time and why
@Question When you and Nick were growing up, did you ever talk about making starcraft into a career aside from playing it? Did you ever talk about trying to commentate professionally?
@Question: Howdy Day[9], what do you think is the best way to attract more females to Starcraft(2) in order to make it more socially accepted or to share the passion the game gave us?
@question: Find all zeroes of the function zeta(s)= sum 1/n^s (for n=1..infinity) that are not either of the form -2m for real integer m, or on the complex line 1/2+ip, for some real p.
Well, I assume when you said 'anything' you meant it...
@question: Are there any aspects or concepts that you developed an understanding of through starcraft that you then utilize irl / Has getting better at SC enabled you outside of SC? (are there transferable skills)
How important are manners/ etiquette to you and in your opinion, the community? Do you think you have a positive and proactive influence on the community? How has this changed over time for you, like were you a child internet rager?
Thanks for taking the time! I greatly enjoy the work you do, keep it up.
@question: Ur brother Nick is in korea, was it always a dream of you too to go to korea ? And btw after no more gomtv how is he doing his money there xD what does he do there xD and would you like to go in another country later too ?
@question: How supportive would you be of your future children if they decided to become Starcraft 3 progamers? What if they they chose some other game over Starcraft?
But since that's not really a question.. Has she always supported you and Nick in your respective sc careers? Does she understand the game? Is she aware of what going on in the community (I remember when she posted here at tl.net to get in touch with tasteless who was at a blizzcon or similar event, I were pretty impressed she knew ehere to go for answers), and is she in touch with what is going down in the sc scene?
If your curious why I ask, I guess her attitude towards sc has been quite a big part of you "life with sc", and besides she just seems like a cool mom from what we know of her.
Thanks for all the dailies - I really don't hope you run out of steam anytime soon, but with the sc2 release coming up I don't see it happening for a long time.
@question: How on earth do I explain what I am spending my time on to my family. Everyone seems to think I'm deranged every time I talk about going to watch a Korean promatch.
Thanks for the awesome commentary for SC2 tourneys and edutainment that is the D9D
Make sure to watch out for flying farms while doing your 100th cast though 8>
@question: As someone who was also banned from playing games for most of the time when i was young, i would like to hear more about how it affected you and what you did to circumvent the ban.
@question - Why are Artosis, Tasteless, and even you, plunging so quickly into SC2 while neglecting BW? Is it too early, or are you guys certain that it'll grow into the RTS that all of us have been waiting for?
@questions: Do you think you know how much of an influence you really have on the teamliquid/starcraft community? Do you think you're using your influence in the best way possible?
Would you say that you're a figure head for the community? If so, does being a figure head give you responsibilities to spread your knowledge and love for the game to people who don't share that passion for Starcraft?
And last question: Do you think other businesses will run professional starcraft 2 leagues in the unites states like they did in Korea for Starcraft: BW or do you think Blizzard will control the scene with their much anticipated "Pro League" on battle.net 2.0?
P.S. I've been watching Day[9] Daily since #1 and I've been loving every minute of it
@question: How did you develop your terminology for taking about starcraft strategy? Did you pick up a lot of it from poker and chess, or were they more made up because you needed a word for them? In this vein, who did you really start talking to that understood the game in these terms?
On April 08 2010 14:55 Day[9] wrote: (I haven't seen it)
Dude. Your awesomeness just dropped by tinny bit. Don' worry, you are still super uber awesome but YOU GOTTA WATCH BLADE RUNNER, AT LEAST 50 TIMES! YOU MUST! Probably one of best movies in history of movies.
@questions:
What kind of lock are you using on your doors to stop parents entering the room and screaming about how you are throwing future for stupid damn games?
(I tried 3 different locks, they always manage to break it!)
Dear day @question: How did you get your girlfriend interested in starcraft? iv been trying to break mine in, but its gonna be a long and difficult journey.
@question: when attempting to reach a competitive level of starcraft play, what are the steps and essentials you feel are necessary?
@question: As you went from being a laughable noob to a respected gamer and now a respected commentator, describe the specific mentality, habits, and thought patterns that were part of your daily life on this journey--what separates you from the masses?
@question: In starcraft 2, do you feel the races are relatively balanced both in terms of units and in terms of skill required to play them so far?
@question: when will the 100th event be? Friday or saturday PLEASE?
@question: How much time did you spend on battle.net during HS for example. How was your social life affected, were you just like any other guy in school? How does Starcraft and eSports affect your daily life, if you look it from a social point of view. Also if Starcraft HAS affected your social life or grades, do you have any regrets? Thanks Day[9]<3
On April 08 2010 17:31 disco wrote: @question When are you gonna stream at more euro friendly times?
+1 for that. And: @ question: what is your favorite match of all SC? what is your favorite match with u playing? I mean high-level play with sth REALLY interesting and unusual happening.
@Question: Starcraft was for me probably one of my first genuinly own initiatives to invest time, learn and improve on something that wasn't as with early education chosen for you. Getting to know how I personally learn, and pushing my limits and discovering my potential are the biggest factors I've assimilated to my life.
Even if I am only peaking at D+ many lessons have been learnt. So my question to you is "as a once competing gamer and later on "Starcraft Philosofer" how has Starcraft improved your life except the joy of the game. What life-lessons are out there waiting for every player?"
@question: You're in a Game Design program, right? Do you plan on using the SC2 editor to develop some kickass games? Can you describe or show any of the projects you've been working on for school?
(Also any tips on getting started with Unity? I'm about to start teaching myself, and I can tell you use it from your web browser bookmarks, heh.)
BTW, I'm a somewhat competent 3D artist getting my Bachelors in a month, but i'm going to be looking to do a lot more work for my portfolio after graduation, since it's lacking polished material. So if you need some free custom assets for a personal project or whatever after mid-May, let me know
@Question: I noticed you always refer to units as pieces, I guessed this was a Chess reference, is that correct? I find there are a lot of similarities between Go & Chess & Starcraft, have you played either of those games seriously or semi-seriously?
@question: Recently you showed us that really nice platforming game you're working on. Do you have any other cool projects you can talk about or maybe even show us? Have you ever felt like trying to make an RTS because of starcraft?
@question: I love starcraft and I've started playing against people only a couple of weeks ago (I've been playing against the computer for YEARS while watching pro replays, vods and now streams).
What happens is that I find myself stressed out after each game and I don't like to play more than 3 games in a row because of the accumulated stress. The same happens to two of my friends who also love SC. Did you find yourself in this situation? If so, do you have any tips?
Looking forward for the #100! GL HF! ("Because everyone in Europe is polite" lol)
@question: Do you agree with Otto Von Bismarck when he said ""You can't destroy the polish national-consciousness or Poles on the battlefield, but if you give them power, they will destroy themselves"?
@Question: how did you make yourself a respected and top level player in the starcraft community, and what do you recommend is the best way for others to achieve this in starcraft II?
@question Would like to see you commentate on some of the earliest replays of you (if you can dig them up) and then compare that to the most recent? This way we get to see some good broodwars.
Makes me feel like it means something. LIEK IMA IN SOME KINDA OF CYBERPUNK FANTASY OR SOMETHING
YEEAAA
also
@Question
what/who contributed the most to your SC skills besides your brother? Your sheer intellectual bravo? A death defying deathmatch to the death with a rival? Whats your secret?
@Question: Do you have any passions for games other than Starcraft, especially those outside of computer gaming, i.e. football, basketball, chess, poker?
You're a sick player now but I haven't heard your sc story as far as climbing the ranks goes. Maybe someone else knows as well? Like did you climb to B, get stuck, then work really hard to get to A level? If iccup wasn't around just make a rank up on a scale of 1-10 where your skill level was at.
@Question Hey Day[9], when ever I play starcraft and I'm on a losing streak, I find myself getting pretty angry with myself and subsequently playing worse. How do you keep your emotions in check when you aren't playing well?
@Question I am also the young brother of two that grew up with Starcraft starting before 2000, and I am curious to know if you've ever found yourself intentionally losing to your brother just so they don't feel bad about losing to their younger sibling
Hell yeah I'm stoked for this!! Day9, you and your bro (and GOM TV) are responsible for getting me into SC. You two completely turned my casual view of sc into a competitive, analytical view (which is even more fun). so thanks a lot and I hope you keep doing casts, my man, you're a sc missionary!!
@Question Even some the most interesting games I have played got boring over time. Over your 12 year SC career, have you ever reached a state where you got tired of Starcraft? If so, what brought you back to playing?
Wait, girlfriends and Starcraft? Nerd-Topia!!! Some people just live a magical life. Yeah Day! I have described you as the "John Madden" of Starcraft. I think you have a legitimate brand now. Trademark Day[9] tomorrow.
I lift my can of Bear Semen to you sir!!! May you always spawn more overlords.
@Question Given you came to prominence during your more formative years, do you still feel like you have what it takes to be a top player now that you're older? Does anyone such as myself (mid 30's) have a real chance against the young bucks in SC anymore?
They always said SC was a young person's game. Given the fact that it's 12 years old, how the old fogies will fair vs the younger newcomers (with much more time on their hands) in SC2 seems to be an interesting question.
@ Question: Time management. How did you find time to fit SC into your everyday life? From school, girlfriends, jobs, etc etc. What is your secret in being in such tip top shape with having to go through your daily current events in life?
@question: Well, it's not really a question and maybe it has already been requestet (i'm not gonna search through 6 pages muahaha) in that case just ignore this. But I just love your anecdotes about your experiences at WCG and other things like that. Please give us some more! Also, what Korean pro- gamers have you met and how were they?

this ^
@question i would also like to know SC has affected your life, is it something that you just put out there, or is it something you keep quiet? How did your GF take it when she found out?
i would like to know how this dedication to a computer game, and an online community, has affected you in RL =)
@question You talk about your 'notebook' where you write down things you learned about Starcraft 2. Would you care to share it with us or is it like really really personal?
@ question: At what point do you think a person is too absorbed into starcraft? When their grades are suffering? When they haven't talked to someone outside their family in 6 months?"
@Question: In your stream, theres a picture on the wall behind you. Its mostly in black&white, pretty creepy, and seriously - what kind of monstrosities are depicted there?
On April 10 2010 20:54 Socke wrote: @Question: In your stream, theres a picture on the wall behind you. Its mostly in black&white, pretty creepy, and seriously - what kind of monstrosities are depicted there?
It's a black and white medley of all the Winny the Pooh characters with surprised expressions on their faces. Truefact.
@question Do you have any predictions as to changes in the meta game (as far as pacing, strategy, and tactics) once it has been analyzed and learned (by pros perhaps). If so what do you think you will see, or what would you like to see?
Personally I would like more guerrilla tactics. I'm afraid it might not come true but I'm always a fan of intense micro!
@question During your pro-gaming career, financial-wise, were you sponsor? If so, how did it came about? And why did you stop you pro career in sc1(if you did). Lastly, what advice can you give to future gamers trying to go pro.
@question: If you got to chose your future in starcraft 2, would it be casting on a professional (aka. full time job) basis, playing on a professional bases (again: full time job) or something else completely while keeping casting/playing as a hobby?
@Question: How do you feel about newcomers in the Starcraft Universe to the Team Liquid community? How well do you think SC:BW will truly carry over? Also, why haven't you made your own cup for fun with a chance to have some of the lesser known, but better players, gain some serious exposure by being casted by yourself?
Bonus question: Why haven't you seen Bladerunner? If you are in love with the Fifth Element.. Bladerunner will simply blow you away!
for your level of dedication, you should be paid as well as a lot of the TL staff, I think everyone here at TL would spare some change for you guys hey it might be small, but i think you guys really deserve it
I skipped a few pages, this might have already been asked: @question: What career are you planning/hoping to have, and how has starcraft effected that? And how has it effected you choices in school?
On April 10 2010 12:34 Energizer wrote: @Question Day9, have you ever attempted or thought about fully growing a beard? You look like you could be a awesome pirate!
I would like to see this as well... and possibly extend it to a moustache. I would also extend the question to ask the following.
@question: If you have grown a beard/moustache, have you felt that others have trusted you less? If so, how have you bridged those trust issues?
@question: I'm a C- player with Zerg, facing Z/T/P. On a seperate account, I also reached C- by playing TvP, TvZ and PvT. Strategy wise, I think I'm pretty good. I almost never feel as though I don't know how to stop a certain strategy, and I always know what I should do in a game. It's just that my mechanics can't keep up. Is there any way to practice so that I can improve my mechanics or do i just have to mass game?

You're supposed to ask day9 about his life of starcraft, not to help you in starcraft.
Is there any way you can push it back to like 8:30pm my man? I gotta work till 8pm that night. It would be cool if you could do that, dude. Much appreciated.
@question Does your girlfriend resent you for all the time and dedication you spend towards an online game, or is your girlfriend proud that you have so much fame in the gaming scene?
I've been a lurker on these boards for a while now and decided that it was finally time to make an account so I could ask you something that has had me wondering for some time.
@question: Can you make a youtube tutorial/instruct us on your daily how to do the thug snap, and if so that would be bjuejeuler?
@question Can you talk about your relationship with your brother and whether or not there was ever tension/fighting between the both of you as a result of both having similar aspirations with gaming?
@question I've watched replays of you and in my opinion, you are siginificantly better than any foreigner Zerg by a large margin, why did you decide to stop competing?
@question Do you have long term plans with regards to commentating?
@question: I love the enthusiastic, high-energy vibe you give off during your casts. How are you able to do this consistently? Do you "prep" yourself, or is it a bi-product of doing what you love?
Also, how should first-time RTS players go about maximizing the effectiveness of their practice time? (if they wish to jump into the competitive scene) What kinds of things should beginners like them be focusing on?
@question: My question is, is there going to be any way to download your casts as VODs, for us people with really crap internet that cannot watch the stream?
This one was the best I could do, but I feel I have to ask a question for such a great event.
@question: Are you ever disappointed that foreign Starcraft players have never achieved even half the glory and fame of their Korean counterparts? Or do you enjoy the freedom to play Starcraft competitively, but not having it as your job?
@question: What is the routine of a gamer and e-personality such as yourself? Do you get out to exercise on a regular basis?
Note: If this sounds insulting, it's not meant to be. I'm a writer, part-time personal trainer, and hardcore gamer, but I often find that regular exercise bumps me off some of the more competetive scenes (can't really go for all-night binges on a regular basis or i'm bound to miss a run or a session at the gym). Sometimes I slip a little, but i'm always curious to hear how people try to strike a healthy balance.
@question In an order of 1 to 5, what are your top 5 priorities in life, with 1 being the most important and 5 being the least, is starcraft close to the top of the list or are there more things to life?
@question: Do you think you could show us your room/computer set up? I am really curious what else is in that room besides your door and the Diablo 3 poster!
@question: How has the transition from being a top player to providing analysis been? What are things you like about it, and what do you miss? Do you plan on playing SC2 at the highest level of competition? Finally, if SC2 were to become a significant e-sport with size and funding similar to Korea and SC1, would you consider spending the "rest of your life" as a professional broadcaster, player, or coach?
I hope that's not too long. It all seems pretty coherent to me.
@question: What is it like being an Internet demigod? Also what advice can you give on convincing your mom to let you practice Starcraft throughout the day?
@What's it like being internet-famous? Especially now that your real e-mail (and name?) flashed on your screen during a cast. / Have you ever been recognized in real life? / How tall are you? / What is your favourite smell? / How would you typically practice for a tournament? Specifically the Pan American Championship in '07. / Did you ever consider trying to play sc professionally? / What is your recipe for split pea soup? / Are there any casts of 'the daily that you particularly like? Dislike? / If you could incorporate one day[9]ism into common vocabulary, what would it be? / The 'daily has gotten huge -- and it's getting bigger -- and it'll get bigger still when the game is released, where do you see it going? / Are you ever tempted to wield your giant e-penis to influence the sc2 beta development? / Have you ever used a bidet? Want to?
Will the livestream servers be able to handle the bitrate that the new camera is going to dish out? Otherwise, very much looking forward to this cast on Tuesday. Keep up the good work!

I'd like to know this one too^
as for mine:
@question: Before I started playing competitively I only played FPM and was sort of "scared" to play low-money, even more so when it was a 1v1. It took years for me to gradually make the change to BGH, and more years to make the change to Python. From there it still took about another year until I explored other maps for competitive play, and now I regret having wasted so much time in the beginning. Did you ever experience anything like that?
@question what happened to static alchimist - @question how much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood ? - do you play other games than sc:bw sc2
@Question: What do you think of a father who still plays SC? I have a little daughter now, and spending time with her is great, but somehow I still need SC like an addiction. Is it immature to still be drag on to it this long?
@question What do you think of all the new streamers around there today? Do they help support sc2. What are some of the other streams you like to watch? Are you thinking about using other people in your show, for entertaining purposes? What is you favourite pizza? Do you believe in god? Do you believe that flash is beatable atm? Do you think skateboarding needs more skills then sc? Does wc3 players do so well, because of their micro? If you need to kill one person who would it be (you can't answer myself)? What is the weirdest flame you have ever received from someone? How do you think sc2 will evolve? What is the most remarkeble story you saw in your carreer? Do you like the Netherlands because of it's cheese? What player is for you standing out at the moment in sc2? What is your funniest story when you where drunk?
well just some random questions, maybe you like some
@ question hipotecally speaking, if u'd have to choose between your girlfriend or starcraft, what would u choose? @ question would u teach starcraft to ur kids/ encourage them to be pro gamers (if u see they got jaedong/flash skills) @ question has SC ever let you down? (probably been asked before) @ question if you had to be reborn as Jim Raynor, Zeratul or Karrigan, who woul u choose and why?

@Question: You are both highly respected and widely recognized by some of americas best players, what advice would you give someone who would like to attain the same goals you once did that brought you where you are today?
@ Question Would you be so kind as to invite a lesser known player (MEMEMEMEMEMEME) to a high level tourney just as a chance for me to see what it's like to be noticed in the starcraft community and also to see how high the skill level is and be able to analyze the replay to see what separates me from the pros? (in america and europe)
Hey Prof. Day[9]! I watch your on-demand all the time and I'll defiantly catch your 100th show, even though it's live here @ 4:00am :-D! Big hearts to you!
@question: Did you have any more irl-friends that were as deep into Starcraft as you and your brother when you grew up, whom you could discuss strats etc. with? I'm asking because I only know 2 other peeps IRL who are pro enough to play SC (shoutout to DiggieXD and my brotha Danor). If you would have known more/less people back then, would anything be different now 12 years later?
@question: Video game addiction is an increasing problem, and I have known several people who have flunked out of university due to excessive video game playing. How have you managed to balance your gaming interests with the other important aspects of your life

@question here is my question Not really a question, but more like a request. I would love to see you incorporate a little of what Drone is doing in his articles - talk about early game-play and metagaming back then, to make a perspective on how competitive gaming has evolved. What strategies where popular during the first WCGs? do you have replays ?
Anyways, thank you for a great 98 shows so far, hope there´s more to come!
D10: @did you ever considered creating a place where people can donate money to you ?
Just recently Day[9] created a PayPal account so that fans seeking to show their support with some financial how-do-you-do would be able to. The PayPal e-mail is: splott@hmc.edu
@Question: When your love for StarCraft came to fruition, and you started spending hours-upon-hours playing, what was the reaction of your parent(s)? Was there a point where they realized there was more to your passion than just "playing a video game?" Lastly, have you ever beaten the pants off your mom in a match, and did she punish you for it?
@question What did your parents feed to you and tasteless as children to allow you to develop into such tenacious beasts of starcraft? Also, what was the support of your parents like throughout your starcraft career?
@question: What do you think about the fact that Blizzard does not plan to allow players from different realms (USA, EU, Korea/Asia) to play against eachother in BNET 2.0? (Blizz making BNET connection mandatory to play aka no LAN mode suggests BNET is the only option, therefore there is no way for different realms to play eachother). Do you think this will segregate USA/EU/Asia too much resulting in less interesting international leagues/competitions?

I'm actually really looking forward to this one; I really enjoyed the stories during the big break in that tourney last week. If there weren't 10 pages here already I'd go through and come up with a question that hasn't been asked yet.
That's what I figured and why I asked you about the length of tomorrow's (todays?) cast while you were streaming. After checking all the questions, I was pretty sure you'd probably go on for more than an hour.
Anyway, I have a ton of free time for watching the stream. My family is in the liqour store business and we just bought a new building in a nearby town. Turned it into a liquor store right away, haha. I basically run the thing by myself all day. Employee's cost money, you know? So, that means I get to sit around most of the day and stare at a wall while I wait for customers to come by. Got that net at work and now life is good! I can watch SC2 streams all day!
Selling alcohol while watching Dr. Plott make funny faces at me is good times.
=D
Anyway, I figure I might as well contribute to the thread with a question or two. Here ya go, Sean.
@question: Why did you main Zerg in SC1 and have you settled on a race for SC2?
@question: If you knew you were going to be stranded on an island with no food except for this crappy tasteless generic mush, what is one meal you would bring with you (assuming you can only bring enough food for one meal) and when would you eat it (first couple days, middle of the adventure, or just before you're saved/die)?
@question: Do you plan on visiting your brother in Korea anytime soon?
-----
Oh yah, and these too! If you have the time, of course.
@question: Will we ever get to see you and your brother have a Livestream'd boxing match using HUGE boxing gloves with your new HD camera and sweet computer parts to broadcast it with?
@question: If Donkey Kong jumped out of a SNES or NES cartridge at you, would you be able to beat him in a fight and force him back into the video game universe?
@question: Can you, or have you, built a cabinet using no tools except for your teeth?
=P
I believe in you, Day[9]! Keep following your heart and your dreams will one day come true!
So I was watching the daily today on my 40 inch tv screen in the living room today and my sister tells me she thinks you are hot with the new HQ camera.
@question: Does your mom ever watched the cast? If so, what does she think?
On the heels of the last question,
@question: How did your mom handle your "dedication" to Starcraft when you were growing up?
@question: Have any fans ever recognized you in public?
If by some fortuitous chance you read any of my questions and mention my name, can you please say it in an uppity, British accent? Thanks, and apologies if any of these questions were already asked.
@question: Can you confirm that you are indeed studying mathematics by proving every even integer greater than 2 is a number that can be expressed as the sum of two primes.
@Question: You have made a few references to your school and that you do programing and that kinda stuff. What kind of programing do you do? What languages do you use?
@question: Did you ever feel like you hit a wall in your play and how did you overcome it?
How does starcraft (1+2) fit into your everyday life? Is it something you plan on doing, or is it something that you just pick up and play when you have the chance?
How often do you play SC1 now and for the few months before the beta came out?
How did you get so handsome?
Keep up the amazing work! Thanks for all you do for the community!
@question: I want to hear more about the wicker basket. That is all @question: If the world randomly goes E-Sports crazy, what kind of celebrity would you like to be? How would you influence people?
On April 13 2010 23:17 gogogadgetflow wrote: @question: I want to hear more about the wicker basket. That is all @question: If the world randomly goes E-Sports crazy, what kind of celebrity would you like to be? How would you influence people?
The wicker basket story is intense. It gets better after a pitcher of select brew and psycho WoW girls.
Thanks for the great streams and casts. Love them so far and can't wait for more!
@Question: For Starcraft 2 what role in the community are you looking to set yourself up for. As in do you want to play SC2 professionally, be a commentator, or something else.
P.S What race are you leaning to atm for you main race for SC2 and why?
@ question: Ignoring SC franchise for a moment... which other RTS interests (or has interested you in the past) you the most. What elements could the SC franchise bring from another franchise to elevate the game to a higher level?
On April 08 2010 14:33 Dionyseus wrote: @question: Have you seen The Fifth Element, what did you think of it?
I can answer this right now. I LOVE that movie. One of my top 10 favorites easily :>
what about blade runner :3
I started watching it but then realized "this probably doesn't have good graphics" and I immediately turned it off and spat on a photo of Harrison Ford.
Finally a better cam! OMG! Will you put it ON TOP of your monitor, so we don't have to look at your double chin?!?! xD jk (You do look better from straigh-forward-up-abovish tho...) "/
@question: Seeing as how you're a math major, do you feel like that practice in analytical thinking has helped your ability to play starcraft? Also you mentioned in a recent podcast about your "Fundamental Theorem of Winning". How would you go about proving such a theorem? It seems like it would be a groundbreaking result, but a proof has eluded me so far. I can only call it the Day[9] conjecture in the mean time.
I would love to just hear you go on for like 3-4 hours on this day 9 daily hahaha, everything from day one playing SC and how you progressed into a competitive level, what it was like playing in all those WCG finals and grand finals and being alongside your brother, what it was like when Nick said he was going to Korea, how SC has effected your relationships with relatives as well as girlfriends and what they think of it. It'd just be nice to hear for as long as you can go on for, everything having to do with SC and its effects on all aspects of your life.
@question Who are your favorite pro players, past and present @question Have you ever casted games with your brother, or considered it? Should Blizzard offer you and Nick the jobs for casting whatever pro circuit they plan right now?
@ Question: your stream has been viewed for over three times your age (nearly 80 years in viewer minutes), did you really think it would be this big a hit with the SC community?
On April 14 2010 10:15 Kazius wrote: @ Question: your stream has been viewed for over three times your age (nearly 80 years in viewer minutes), did you really think it would be this big a hit with the SC community?
Great question. And props to Kazius for figuring that one out!
Oh my god, this was one of the most inspiring shows I've ever seen on the internet. I was brought to the verge of tears during the story of "Bunny" and leaving him in Singapore. Thanks for the show pal *tear*
I cried twice, you really hit on the things that are dear to gamers, and it just struck so close to home that it was shocking. I really appreciate you doing this, and I think anyone who is trying to become a better gamer, or a better person, WILL benefit from hearing the stories you told today. I'm honestly just in awe of how powerful that really was. This cast definitely deserves attention from any current or prospective starcraft fan. I will say that it has changed my entire outlook on being a competitive player, as you have presented a very important perspective on your own failures, and failure in competition in general.
I really can't say enough about this. It was absolutely amazing. I'm really, really stunned at how incredible that was.
Awesome job, man! My parents are very against games and see them as a total waste of time and money, but I was literally thinking, while I was watching #100, I should show them this! This will help them understand the importance and value of games, specifically StarCraft! So, thank you!
I'm... speechless. I don't know what to say but that I cried, and that this was THE most touching thing I have ever seen in my entire life (No exaggeration. At all). Day, I think I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for me (and the SC community as a whole), and I hope your dream can become a reality and that we could be (if only) a small part of it.
never have I, nor do I think I will ever, be quite as inspired by a dude talking about games as I was just today. here's to making esports happen in america!
Day9 I was a skeptical viewer, but I just had to see the 100th even if I wasn't sure why. I didn't write any reminders down, didn't have any alarms, I just reminded myself everyday of the past week that apr 13th, day9 #100 is on. I'm unbelievably thankful that I got to hear you speak today. You're a gift and I'm grateful for your words! Go day!
On April 14 2010 13:20 FridgeToss wrote: I would also like to say that if this VOD doesn't make front page news on this site, teamliquid should be ashamed of themselves.
I'm going to see to it that other websites get this on their front page as well. Let's get FPS, fighting game, MMORPG, whatever communities to see this. It is practically interchangeable. If you've read Josh Waitzkin's The Art of Learning, its amazing to see how similar we all are despite the differences in our disciplines we chose to push ourselves to strive in.
Sean I think what you did tonight took an amazing amount of courage to do live in front of almost 4000 people. I admire your dedication to the game and the fact that you can take so much pride in Starcraft not because you like shooting bugs with lasers and fire breathing motorcycles but because it challenges your mind. I think if more people can realize that this is the allure of the game, that E-sports has great potential for becoming popular. I know for a fact that if people like yourself are going to continue to step up and "spread the word" that one day my kids may be more excited to watch the Day[9] Daily than some Pokemon-knockoff cartoon. Lookout soccer, the US may soon have another sport more popular than you.
Hi, I'm new to TeamLiquid. I started lurking around here not long after the SC2 beta started out since I never got a key and needed a fix, but I've been following the Day[9] dailies for about a month now and I want to add my voice to the choir. That was an beautiful story.
Day[9], when I first heard of SCII's release, I was so pumped. At that moment, my cousin showed me that the SC community was still strong and I got back in the game. Then he showed me your commentary, so we could "speed-train" to be ready when SCII would be out. I loved the first cast I ever saw and I'm a dedicated viewer.
Before, it was about SCII, now it's about life. I have grown a newfound respect for you and am grateful for your cast. I came in thinking this cast would be fun, entertaining, I mean: "fun stories with day[9]" sounded great but this is so much more amazing. Thank you sharing with us.
Thanks for sharing your sc life story with us, it was truly inspiring and had lots of good advices which everyone could use in their daily lives. You are the man!
I posted in the main thread, but I just want to say again, that was a heart-warming cast! Exactly what I needed to hear right now in my life. That was the best thing I've seen on the Internet in a long time. Keep up the good work, and I hope you continue to stay active in the esports community and share your enthusiasm with the world!
i hope someone can eventually get the VOD on youtube so that we can get even more people to understand the awesomeness of starcraft and esports in general
Still at a loss for words, but thank you, thank you Day[9].
Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for making me cry. Thank you for reminding me how much it sucks to crack up in a tourney setting, and the strength it takes to overcome the self-hatred that can bring.
Looking forward to the 100th episode being uploaded for on-demand viewing. I'll definitely be posting it to facebook (and sending it individually to a ton of my friends). The people I MOST want to see this are my friends who are parents so they might lose their fear of their children playing games.

Heh, when the youtube version comes out, I will be posting it to Reddit immediately.
Very good cast! My roommates and I all watched it and enjoyed it very much. I just want to thank you for all the time you put into entertaining and informing. Keep up the good work!
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT. I really didn't want to miss this cast, but I had class until 7 (couldn't skip because I had to write an in-class paper that was worth 10% -_______-
I really look forward to this being uploaded.
Day9 - the best thing that happened to TeamLiquid.
This was honestly fantastic. As ironical as it is, I'm always at a loss of words for how well you're able to articulate your knowledge for Starcraft and why it is such an amazing game. Seriously though, this was by far the greatest day9 daily to date. To hear about your story of starcraft not just in relation to you, but your whole family, was incredibly interesting. Anyways though, thank you so much, Sean, for your incredible contribution to the community, and your equally as incredible wisdom in regards to anything Starcraft related.
Sean "Day[9]" Plott. You are officially my favorite person in the world. Thanks a thousand times for that awe inspiring cast you brought us. I look forward to seeing you in a nice suit for when the TSL gets broad casted on TV!
First time i ever watched you, i mean i peaked in their once but it was just some guy talking(you) and i just left.
Then everyone was saying how amazing your stream is so i was in their last night, amazing stream! I guess it isnt what you normally do, but i checked out some VoDs of yours, i absolutely love it, im gonna be watching these dailys from now on.
Getting very few hours of sleep last night, waking up in 4 AM just so that I can prepare myself to watch this "Special #100" (like coffee and breakfast) was totally worth it ! In the next year or so, a new generation of SC2 progamers will be born and when they're asked "What was your biggest inspiration to become a SC2 progamer?", I'm pretty sure that their answer will be "Watching Day[9] Daily #100 !". I was there ! I saw it live ! WOW ! Thank you ! You are already The Ambassador of e-sport for the western world !
Totally worth staying up until 6AM to watch this! Incredible story Sean! Really amazing. I just want to show that episode to everyone I know so they understand how fantastic really Starcraft is. That it's so much more than just another game!
Sean, this was an amazing cast that kinda makes me wish I had a similar circumstance growing up - I didn't have any SC buddies at the time and I totally fell out of it - even though I'm 26 now and have played SC since it first started, b/c I never kept with it I've kinda always been a total n00b. I'm thinking with SC2 I can really change that and get better, and your stories inspired me to that, really seeing how you had improved in your 2 month training before the Pan American WCG, etc.
Just want you to know that you've been one of my favorite SC players in the scene since I started watching your day[9] dailies, but now I just have to say if anyone can become "The Ambassador to eSports in the States" it'd be you. I may never end up being the next gosu gamer (after all, at this point I have to start dealing with real life, right?) but I never wanna stop watching Starcraft eSports, and I want to see the day when we have pro Starcraft leagues on MASN or ESPN2 or something; I think you'll be instrumental in making that happen.
Amazing, sir. Truly amazing. I've been following the day9 daily for about two months now, and that episode was inspiring, it made me proud to be a gamer. Nothing but respect for you!
(ps: will you sign my sc2 collector's edition? <3)
Ohh man, I can't say how amazing this cast was, so emotional, so inspiring I had watery eyes for almost an hour from hearing you, just that, how amazing is that? I stayed up to late to hear some guy talk and it was more fun than countless movies and tv shows out there, you man, you are THE man!
I've never seen anyone get so emotional about starcraft before, and i've never felt myself getting so emotional alongside someone getting so emotional about something that seems so silly. Day, you are a master storyteller, and a mega-baller.
I've been watching since the first Day[9] daily. I didn't even know who you were back then. But recently, my old crappy Dell computer died, and we ended up getting a new one for about $500. (It's bad if your computer dies and you're in college, heh) Whattaya know, the day my computer comes in, yesterday, it happens to be #100. I didn't even know it was going to be broadcast until about 20 minutes in, but I watched it all from that point.
Lots of things in the cast, little phrases that you said, it just felt like I've known you for a long time (because I've known myself). I gotta say, it's people like you who make me feel like there are some good people in this world who think much the same way I do. It's a rare day when I meet someone as genuine as you are. Which is basically complete bullshit, because everyone wants to be like us anyway, they're just fooling themselves!
Thanks for the family stories, too. The first real lasting male influence in my life is my sister's husband, and she got married about two years ago. So it's nice to have some shared experience from you and your brother.
I've been writing too much again, haven't I? Basically <3. And I'm glad you're still gonna do them dailies! :D
got a little (typical american) cheesy at times but that was worth it
I wanted to discuss this with all ignorant ppl who still think video gaming leads directly to running amok. At the same time it saddens me a bit that you didn't talk about the darker sides of gaming like health problems (Prolly because you didn't experience that much except what you talked about)
Thanks so much for this, I relate totally to so many of your experiences and it's just so fucking awesome to see someone be so honest about the passion they feel, people tend to be such cynics and just try to uphold their facades no matter the cost these days it's just so awesome to see that there are still people who can be genuine about themselves and not hide their true colours from people. More people should have your spirit, and seeing this video will surely have a huge effect on many.
I just watched the whole VOD, and I just have to say that Day9 Daily #100 was so entertaining, heartfelt, beautiful, and honest all at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing your story, and keep up the excellent work!!!!! My respect for you has just increased 100-fold.
Hey day, well done. It's very hard to put your self out there like that, that takes balls. The reason everyone here loves you is because you are 100% genuine, and this video was the perfect exhibit. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
I posted this in the general Day 9 thread and I would like to post the same in this thread too.... does that count as double posting?
I pretty much created an account on this site so I could post in this thread.
That was incredible. I told my bro-in law about this and he thought it was lame, then I told him that the video was really about dreams, and finding your passion and going the distance and NEVER giving up and living and struggling and winning and it ALL being worth it. Most Men lead lives of quiet desperation and Day 9 will lead a truely well lived life.
Truely inspirational. Thank you.
I think we, as a community, should get together and do something really nice for Day 9's mom. What do you think she would like?
I remember Day 9 talking about how busy she is, single mom, owning a business. Maybe we could pool some moneys and send her on vacation or something?
"Men are what their mothers made them." Ralph Waldo Emerson
This was truly the most moving and awe-inspiring thing I've seen in relation to Starcraft. I'm honestly speechless right now. I'd never felt so emotionally touched by a game and its community until I started playing Starcraft. Thank you so much DAy[9].

i finally got a chance to sit down and watch this cast. i didn't know it was going to be as long as it was and i'm up about an hour later than i normally would be on a week night, but i wanted to see it through and i'm glad i did.
i'll be honest, i don't follow your casts much because i just don't have enough time in the day, but for some reason i really wanted to watch this cast. i wanted to watch it because i knew before i even clicked on the link that i would be able to relate with a lot of the things you were going to touch on. i've been playing since 10th grade (12 years ago) and i played with good friends throughout high school. i would even hook up 2 300mhz computers via cable to play "lan" tournaments with my friends. we would stay in on the weekends to drink beer and play starcraft instead of going out to party some weekends when i was a senior in high school. i've felt the great feelings of realizing you have improved and trying to explain how to look at the game as boundry-less to others and people who've never heard of the game. i've explained to my parents how its like chess and playing a musical instrument at the same time and why it wasn't just another game. i enjoyed the scene so much i needed to start commentating games myself and get other people excited for starcraft. and finally, after 11 or 12 years, being out of college with a wife and a full time job, i still need to stay "in the game" and participate with what is clearly the most influential and important community i've ever been a part of.
people are always comparing commentators but at the end of the day i think most of us have the same goal - to share our love for starcraft and to show others why we love it so much and why they should too. thanks for articulating it better than anyone else could and congrats on all of your accomplishments in starcraft and your life.
Such an amazing stream, I feel kind of priveleged to have been able to watch it live, the whole thing for throughly interesting and enjoyable from start to finish, it was very emotional and was just a pleasure to watch.
My brother and I are also "brothers of Starcraft", although clearly to a much less talented degree, so this episode was MUCH more emotional than I anticipated it to be but in such a wonderful way!
You're the man Day9. You have more passion than anyone i've ever met. Thoroughly enjoyed the cast, and will desperately try to spread the StarCraft word amongst my close friends.
Great cast! How brave of you for being so honest. I'm glad you told the WHOLE story though, because if you take any one part of out it can seem to the uninitiated that you are just some crazy nerd out there. I used to think that we were diametrically opposed outside of SC and gaming in general, but there's a lot in common i think that we share with millions of others of the video game generation. We grew up mostly without dads or had some aspect that made us not have "normal" families, and had to have a wealth of these kinds of experiences to fill the void. The core concepts of SC such as hard work, determination, belief in one's self, and community are really universal, and I hope everyone can take a lot from your example. Cheers Day! Very WP! Stuff like this can really change someone's life for the better, we all need this kind of encouragement.
I actually didn't really like episode 100 much, dunno if I was the only one, but normally I love Day[9]. Thanks for doing what you do for the community.
The Day 9 Daily #100 is available for download HERE, for those of you who haven't noticed. To Day[9]: your story really was amazing and quite touching. It gave me a lot to think on. Don't let anyone ever tell you you're not good enough to be the E-Sports ambassador, beacause you can be whatever you want. You're just that awesome. I sincerely hope your dream will be fulfilled, just like Marthin Luther King's was. Know, that you have the community's growing and continuing support (I realize I can't speak for the community, but from the comments I read... It's clear that people wish you the best here). I know I'm stating the obvious, but sometimes it's best if others tell you what you're already supposed to know. It can't do any harm, can it?
Not only was it an incredibly entertaining and touching story, it actually gave me some fresh high spirits, even far out of StarCraft. As one who had lost some passion for some things I loved, I really appreciate you to remind me what it feels like to be "in the zone".
wow... day, tasteless and their mother is so damn awesome. I really like that part when tasteless drives to texas to cualify and day gets all happy and stuff
I wish I had an awesome lifestory like that but yeah...I guess I'm the one to blame for my booring life. anyway.. thx day <3
On April 16 2010 01:29 r4j2ill wrote: @qyestion Why do u waste so much of ur time playing video games?...its only a game....
@answer: Why do you waste so much time on anything else? Everyone has their preferences. It doesn't matter what you do. The only thing that matters: does it make you happy. That's all there is to it. Different people enjoy different things. It's our human nature and nurture. We react differently to different stimuli.
And for the record it's not just a game. It's an e-sport. And the best part of it is, that (as Day[9[ said) there are no subjective opinion, rules and referees. You either win or loose and you can't do or complain anything about it. So in some way, this game is more of a sport than the real thing. It's like chess, but with cool graphics and insane speed
Just finished watching #100. And I don't care how many people have said this before me, it has to be posted that it was amazing.
Thank you for even more reassuring that Starcraft is the best game ever made, that watching the pro scene is time well spent and for hating myself for ever quitting back in god-knows-how-long-ago
Super long time lurker who registered last February after I ran into some randoms from TL.net playing BGH 3v3 (I was using the name BearSemenRARRR and they called me out as reading TL).
Anyway this is my first post and I just want to say that I wish I had been as unabashed and unashamed of my passion for videogames as you have been from Day1 ().
I'm turning 25 years old next week and it's only in the past year or so that I realized I don't have to hide the fact that on most Friday nights I'd rather play starcraft than do anything else. I used to care so much about what people would think of me if I admitted to being a nerd so I hid it. I realize now I should have just shown my friends and family my enthusiasm so they could share that enthusiasm with me.
In any case, I think you're an inspiration and I've sent out the link of your livestream to some of my closest non-SC playing friends, because I think there's a lot of value in it even if you're not familiar with the SC game and scene.
The analogy of needing a mind of a chessplayer and the hands of a musician is very apt as well.
Thank you for everything you've done I hope you continue to be a major contributer to the SC scene.
aaw maan this is epic! i am new to the community (i just played bw vs ai before xD) and i therefore did not know you until i watched your #100... i am amazed by your story. i wish i had such a good reinforcing family! all i ever heared (which kept me away from competetive gaming for too long) was "the sun is shining, get out and stop playing your mindless computer games"
i really wish i could rewind the last 8 years and live exactly as you did! but who knows, maybe ill get my chance with sc2, now that my mind has reached a state of certain independency from contra productive persons^^
i hope that im not too old for a start in this, i am going for the 24 this year o_O
The passion for Starcraft was articulated beautifully here Sean, that was a humbling video and I think theres so much to take from it that can be applied in all aspects of life. Fantastic Job

Anyway, #100 was really, really good. It made me laugh and 10 minutes later it got all emotional. Probably the best vid I have seen on the internet in my life, and ive seen A LOT^^. Hope you keep doing these dailies for a loong loong time, I dont watch much tv at all, but I won't ever miss a day9daily. Best of luck with your dream, altho not sure if you need it because I can't think of any person that will fit that role better than you.
It was an awesome cast, very touching. It was neat hearing the story of how DAy[9] and Tasteless became what they are. Especially how Tasteless just walked up and was like, "Give me the mic."
On April 16 2010 01:29 r4j2ill wrote: @qyestion Why do u waste so much of ur time playing video games?...its only a game....
Why does anyone, do anything? The majority of people just auto-pilot through life, because it's the 'normal' thing to do. Some people like to be different. You only live once.
On April 16 2010 01:29 r4j2ill wrote: @qyestion Why do u waste so much of ur time playing video games?...its only a game....
Why "waste" time doing anything we love in life?
Why "waste" time reading books? Why "waste" time playing sports? Why "waste" time watching movies?
Nothing is a waste of time if it is something you love and are passionate about. Pursuing what makes us happy in life is the entire purpose to our existence. Doing what we are told purely for the reasoning of abiding to the social norm is more of a "waste" of time than anything.
Day[9] if you see this, plz do NOT read this post :D
I had an idea today and maybe someone has already think about something like this.
The koreans have a way to honor players and commentators by giving them their own title like 'The Emperor' or 'The Maestro'.
I believe the tl.net community should honor Day[9] by giving him a title name to celebrate his 12 years of Starcraft but more importantly, his HUGE contribution to the SC community. In my opinion, he deserves such a title.
This should represent his personnality, his knowledge and maybe, the race he use to play. I was thinking something like 'The Overmind', wich would represent his wisdom and his affinity with zerg. But it could be something else.
I'm only throwing the idea here, but I believe it would be awesome to come with such a title.

This should represent his personnality, his knowledge and maybe, the race he use to play. I was thinking something like 'The Overmind', wich would represent his wisdom and his affinity with zerg. But it could be something else.
I'm only throwing the idea here, but I believe it would be awesome to come with such a title.

I had an idea today and maybe someone has already think about something like this.

What do you guys think?
Professor Oak of Starcraft IMO
We can call him "The Pokemon Starcraft Professor"
Great Idea, i'd call him "The Thinker", but "Starcraft Professor" sounds good as well. ^^'
He teached me a lot in all those day9-daily's and with his knowledge and enthusiasm and love for SC, he'd be the man if we ever needed a prof. for SC. ^^'
Another Idea could be "Big Bro", for several reasons:
- He is just an overall good guy that want's to help others and has no intention of hurting anyone, just like a good brother should be. - He has a lot of knowledge of SC and gaming in general and shares it with others, but not for showing off or anything, just because he loves SC so much and want's all SC-Fans to become one big family. - He plays Zerg and koreans call the Ultras "Big Brothers" - He, his Brother (Tasteless) and his Mother (The awesome-sc-mom! ^^) seem to be very close, so it fit's him in a more private way as well I guess. - He is watching almost every match that is being played (at least the Pro-games ) in SC1 and SC2 - he is watching you! ^^' But not in a creepy kind of way... xD

That's not the point. In Korea, it's an honor that the community comes up with a Nickname that they think fit the Person they give it to. Day[9] is a name he gave to himself, we want to honor him by giving him another nickname, one that came from the community he has done so much for.

How about The Ambassador? That is what he wants to be after all

That IS a really good idea. It sounds very Protoss... which would be perfect if that was his race... but its a great fit either way. It's a very Starcraft sounding title.

Steven Seagal in his most demanding role yet:
He is a highschool handicraft-teacher in his midlife crisis when a chinese crime-syndicate kill's his family at a shopping mall during a gunfight with the police.
Driven by rage, he teams up with recently retired ex-policeman Peter Wainwright (Nicolas Cage), whose Partner got brutally murdered by the chinese crime-syndicate, and Computer-Mastermind Jack Roberts (Don Cheadle), who lost his leg's in the same gunfight.
Hooooooooly shit that was sooo inspirational and amazing. Besides starcraft skills you're such a great entertainer. Just enjoyed the entire 2 hour talk from 4 - 6. Worth every single second. SC is so blessed to have you as a player Day!

This part was awesome, like the part in a superhero origin story where Day and Tasteless start walking separate but parallel paths
Really touching episode. I made a account on this website just because day9 is a baller. I am new to starcraft2 but i was part of a competitive gaming in FPS (Q3 & Rtcw). You are very lucky to have chosen starcraft out of all the competitive games. You can come back and play competitive anytime. Most other games we have just memories left. Enjoyed my two hours very much. Cheers.
@Question How do you balance School work (or all that 'real life' responsibility, etc) with gaming? I want to do well and spend as much time as I can getting better at SC, but I have trouble managing my time. I always either fail at school, or fail at SC.
Looks like I posted in the wrong thread, dumb. Anyhow,
I just watched your 1:50 minute discussion on your history of Starcraft and I really enjoyed it. You have the passion man - you have the passion, I respect that. I'm only a newb but I enjoy commentary, replays and depth in general - keep up the good work, I hope you get the dream of more popular Esports in the west.
it's funny that you mention 1st~tsunami in this... he was good i used to watch/play him alot in x17 and i just played in the other night on SC2... his nick was tsunami.brattsunami
