Elo points cannot be compared from division to division, so far now we can only compare ranks. I dont understand this. Knowing that you can play against any people who are in any other division (and even any league apparently), i dont see why Elos shouldn't be compared. (And moreover, i dont see why there are divisions.) Well, i see a reason: making kind of brackets for end season tournaments. If anybody plays against anybody during the "regular season", the ratings are definitely comparable. Then, the divisions are just there to pick up top seed players for tournaments? Elos are only absolute within your own division. If you play someone in your division the amount of points you gain = the amount of points your opponent loses (as far as I can tell). When you play someone from another division the amount points you gain are only equal to the amount of points your opponent loses IF there are the same amount of players in both divisions. My guess is Blizzard don't want players in empty divisions to gain too big of an ELO lead before it's filled up with players. For this reason you can't compare a division with 8 ppl to a division with 50.
