There are a lot more than 10.000 people getting into this beta. Just a quick explanation on why this process works the way it does, a beta is not only there to test the balance and see how players like the game, it is also to test the infrastructure of the game. Inviting players in waves makes sure that the infrastructure is able to handle the first load before inviting more players, gradually increasing the numbers. This helps our IT teams make sure everything runs smoothly and or catch any problems and fix them before having a large load on the infastructure. This is definitely not to make you guys suffer or anything - it is just a necessity of beta testing for us. RTS Community Team Blizzard Europe - Xordiah

This is the official "I am sad I'm not in beta yet" thread. Please post all your thoughts on this matter here. I will be closing and deleting all other threads with this topic. And topics about invites that have been sent out, about waves and anything else that has to do with getting into the beta.
Just quick update:
1. If you did not get into beta yet. Make sure you opted in. We see a lot of complaints about people not getting a beta key - and they have not opted in. This makes baby pandas cry!
2. We like fans from all over the world - if you have opted in, you have the chance of getting into the beta, no matter where you are from.
If you have any questions about opting in, getting into the beta or you just want to cry a bit, please do so here!
[ Post edited by Xordiah ] RTS Community Team Blizzard Europe ----- You can get into beta with just one game attached to your account. The system specs do matter (otherwise we would not be asking for them ) since a large part of beta is testing the stability of the game on different systems.
About the BlizzCon keys, I will let you know when I have confirmation that all have been sent out.
I know it might be hard for a lot of you to still wait for your access to the game, but in the end beta is not just a demo for us. We actually need the beta test phase to work on the game and iron out any problems. Please be patient in this phase and be nice. RTS Community Team Blizzard Europe - Xordiah ----- Sorry, we have not answered any questions about what system specs you should aim for to get better chances in the beta and we will not in future answer these questions. This just leads to people being frustrated or us seeing everyone change their specs to match some specs they think are most valuable for us. Just use the PC you like to play on most and opt in with that one. RTS Community Team Blizzard Europe - Xordiah

No everyone stays. In general there's a lot of player churn with betas. Some percentage of invites won't ever be used, and for those that do sign on there's a decrease in testers as time goes on. It's actually fairly steep. So more and more invites go out to keep numbers of active players where we want them to be for testing.

Finally some official words on that godforsaken forum. And Xordiah stepped up and started deleting all those trash threads. "IS THERE A 2ND WAVE?!" Filled up half of the first page ;/.
Now we know there's always hope . So buy a bag of F5 keys kids. This will be a long week!

You don't need a beta key just any blizzard product key

I am worried. Is the opt in just to make a mark on sc2 beta interest ? and send your configuration ? that's all ? ( of course putting the games into the bnet account).

Congratulations, I am still on step 3. I just don't see why they will not accept my hamburger for a key. A hamburger contains ingredients to sustain life. A key is a virtual string ;; WHY BLIZZARD

I really get the feeling that people expected to get into beta just because they opted in. Nobody ever said you would be guaranteed to get a key as soon as you opt in. Expecting to get a key and then complaining if you didn't is just retarded.

The problem is more when you win a freaking contest and that you get no comment from Blizzard at all.

so as far as im concern, everything comes down to the time you get to use starcraft2, beta or origin.
p/s: if you already have the key: gtfo this thread, you people hurt my feelings

we have a saying in my country... literally translated it goes "hope dies last"
and thats all we can do hope and cry on forums :D

The thing is they gave us hope, the hope of maybe, just maybe being part of the beta experience. We're addicted to it. We're like moths attracted to the warm light. Besides, it's in human nature that when you're given a finger, you'll want the whole hand or even the whole arm. Don't act so stuck up. You're a human too, you're not better than us.
