I've got a few interviews for you and each of them concerns SC2:
-IdrA: The Villain Commodity. Idra talks about why he is the villain in the StarCraft community as well as briefly but decisively touching on his future in StarCraft 2. Hint: He's not going away any time soon.
-Artosis: The Ghost of eSports Yet to Come. Artosis talks about his upcoming transition to SC2 as well as the conflict between KeSPA and Blizzard over money in the lucrative sport. As you read this, Artosis is sitting at his computer, playing SC2 with a notebook in hand. Oh yes, he's serious.
-MorroW: The Professional Method. Morrow talks about his intense training, his quite serious goal of playing professional SC2 in Korea and his view on the recent IdrA/NonY upset. Hint: He knew it was going to happen before it happened.

And since it's "pro" gamer it means you do it as a profession, and unless you're like what, top 10 in the world? you prob barely make enough money to eat properly

Yes, you're right. Idra has never won any foreign tournament he's just some C- noob who somehow made it to Korea.
From what I understand, progamers have their food and board expenses completely covered. And Koreans have a much healthier diet than western countries if you want to get into "eating properly."
I really liked Idra's post TSL interview, you should check it out.

Think of it this way. If this were a poker forum, and you said you won whatever amount of money and Idra comes in and says "but I'm a progamer in korea you're trash," he looks like a douche, and everyone in this imaginary forum then takes your side.
Here, the roles are reversed. Starcraft skills are more respected than poker skills (although I have heard there is some correlation)

it's strange, my scripts caused the server cpu to need quite a bit of power. hm. thats why it went down for 5 minutes. i fixed it but i wonder what exactly it was. hopefully i can prevent that!

The report on IdrA is awesome. I think it captures the essence of the player. It's very valid that his personality brings life to the community and sets him apart even more than his superior skillz. I sincerely hope CJ gives him free reign to practice the shit out of SC2 and bring that same personality to the scene in Korea, because i think that would be the best thing possible for eSports in general, and i don't think he is capable of doing that in the current BW scene.

my plans are to recruit a fairly reliable team of writers and keep quality interviews and articles streaming in. the goal is to focus on the flesh and blood side of the game, not to be a news site - i could never compete with current news sites and i don't want to.
edit: oh, and to keep an easily browsable list of good VODs/replays to watch here.

Is it just me or am I the only one who took the exchange as two men measuring their dicks, and one just having an enormously 1.5 million long wang?
Guy 1 makes point about Guy 2's notoriety and disagreeing with what people find "interesting"
Guy 2 comes out and says he's trash and no-one cared about him (which brings up the question about who really cares about Guy 2 [true friends vs fans/fame chasers] but whatever)
Guy 1 says his skills make Guy 2 look like trash - how much money you've won in poker is something of a skill barometer: in progaming you'd talk about high placings and tournaments won, but in poker you make a point of money earned in tournaments as well
Since no-one really cares about losers in the tournaments, the only lasting judge is who's better prepared to deal with the aftermath of not being able to compete at the requisite level ... poker might have a bigger pay-off, but also more of a long-term misery whereas progaming has a very short lifespan.
And having the 1.5 million in the bank ... well, it's not exactly in the bank (because it's probably just the figure from tournament winnings or the size of a bankroll) so you can't exactly just walk away and be set for life ... not yet. But maybe one day.
Who's prepared for the fall better ... well, we can't answer that, but whoever is more prepared is the one who's 'less trash', if that makes any sense.

offtopic: I mean Idra is definetly not one of the best. Ok he made it, maybe he can live from sc (can he actually? I heard the living expenses in korea are quite high ) but he is part of the scene and i always love it when idra leaves a game without a proper gg (or any other catchphrase) like the games against cauthon or drunkenbobby because it makes me laugh. I really can imagine this guy getting angry
But this "you are trash" discussion is so pointless. In my opinion this pokerguy is definetly a douche. No matter with what he now come up. Blablabla get off with your 1,5 million peni$. You are in one point as lame as idra -> you have not learned to loose properly.
