No, I don't think it's that. He's just trying too hard. And his funny misfires most of the time. The exaggerated voices, the over-animated facial expressions, the funny voices, the bursting out laughing... damn that's shit's just embarrassing (like what he's doing RIGHT NOW).

I can't agree that it's "embarassing". It's actually remarkably hard to fill the space of an entire hour-long show day after day with absolutely no audience to gauge a reaction off of. He's not casting games, he's teaching and he's entertaining. This is his show. While he's also funny and animated during his casts, he treats them entirely different. HD and Husky are criticized (fairly or unfairly) for their casting abilities during events. You're more than free to criticize Day as well, (I've sent him PM's before with criticisms and he's received them warmly and with appreciation) but at least be fair and don't compare Day[9]'s personal show against other casters casting games.

Your second paragraph makes it sound like you are just complaining for the sake of complaining, or to "get even" because you seem to feel Husky & HD are being mistreated. That has nothing to do with Day9, and isnt valid criticism.
As for your actual complaint, whatever floats your boat man, just dont expect many people to agree with you. I think Sean is doing an excellent job by not just being informative, but pouring out his character and enthusiasm into these dailies every single day. Like others have said it makes the show flow better when you dont take yourself or the subject at hand too seriously. He rarely makes me laugh out loud, but its still a nice touch and I wouldnt have it any other way. If you find it so cringeworthy, maybe you should just stick with Husky & his comical masterpieces such as pylo the pylon and let us lame nerds enjoy Day9's quirky jokes.
In episode #173 Day[9] says something about a Zergplayer named Zen. That we should go check it out. But where the heck is it? I've searched google, only to get the "Solo Zen Master"-achivment. Even looked through Ustream and livestream. Checked here aswell, but to no luck.
I wonder why people often referring to something/someone, but don't give out the source or link to it. So annoying :/

Since I've only started watching the Daily recently, has there been a daily going over the differences between players transitioning from SC1 as opposed to players transitioning from WC3, and what they do right/wrong? It would be an interesting topic I think, and I thought maybe it had been discussed in one of them even if it's not marked as such.
I believe Dr.Day9 touched on it briefly in a recent daily. Something about some WC3 converts have this beautiful unit control and micro but while that was going on they forgot to macro and die to the next attack. I believe he emphasized that this is a strategy game, and that the BW players who were having trouble were trying to be a little too mechanical about things. Sorry, but thats the best i can remember =/

he just said a few times that the most ovious difference is WC3 players have their focus al lot more on Micro of units and therefor are often worse at macro
on the other hand the sc1 players are used to the Macro as sc1 is said to be a macro intense game
Day said in the last two episodes he was laddering quite alot the last few days..man i would love to know his name^^
anyways good to hear he finally found some time to play outside of the campagne

I don't like criticize either HD or Husky (Husky lives in Oregon! REPRESENT), but that said, I did find it kind of disappointing to hear HD actually say he only plays like 1 game a week, prob why I don't watch him anymore.
Wow can't believe someone is comparing a daily hour long tutorial to game casting. Unless Day9 has multiple emmy winnners on his writing staff or even a writing staff I can't really fault someone for less than perfect air filling. I wouldn't bag on my RL friends for sounding goofy unless I was joking because it's the same situation. Day9 is just a virtual friend helping you out. Don't bag on the guy.
Awesome awesome stuff. Recently started watching the dailies and learning a shit ton. But I am a zerg player and the recent zerg videos (want to stay away from the earlier beta videos) have pretty much been protoss or terran beating zerg. would greatly appreciate some more zerg tutorial videos (the ZvZ was pretty cool.) Thanks, keep up the great work.
I'm going to comment to support day 9, he reigns as the king of casters, for my viewing taste. I haven't like the games he's been commentating recently, so I haven't been watching. I can't wait until there are more exciting events for him to cast. Cheers day.
