At a general Glance in this thread I can honestly say I am slightly horrified at all the people complaining about a post count requirement. Who cares if you have had an account for 5 years but only have 40 posts?

It meant you never honestly contributed to TL. Surfing a site and using its content while never contributing back is not something that deserves a "reward". The site has grown from what it started off at to what it is now because people found the site and made honest contributions to the site. Be it LR threads when streams were insanely hard to find, hosting streams for all to see, making news articles or Battle Reports, Liquipedia, etc....

Users came and started off in almost every case as a user who posted, shared ideas and gave back to the community in some way and helped it grow into what it is now. 500 posts for someone who does these things is not a number that is exceptionally hard to hit, and for those who do opt to only post once in a blue moon with insanely high content posts you should not worry. Those users are almost always spotted and recognized for their efforts by someone be it TL staff, users who have been around awhile or by others who have been lucky and can give back to them.

Near everyone should realize that when a very small number of something is available and everyone wants it that you must find a way to give back to people who meet some form of standard. In this case its a reward to users who have come and helped further the community in some way from small to large on the spectrum of contributions. It also removes the ability for people to do as you all mention which is "spam" by making a join date restriction as well.

People should be happy that a site as great as this is finding a way to give back to the community at large by being as fair as possible.
