I believe neck size is relative to intelligence level. I could be wrong, but it sounds accurate.

Protein is probably more important on your days off, since those are the days where your muscles are growing. I think you really need to start adding some lean meats, chicken/fish, and other protein sources such as eggs and whey to your everyday diet. A good protein source makes up 50-60% of each of my meals. You're not going to grow eating bananas and weetbix. You need man food.

Ill put some recent ones, but id rather no put up any from...before - what I thought looked good at the time is actually a little gross. Eshlow - you're 100% right. I feel I did better last week with my eating, but it is still not enough - I probably only cleared 2000 calories 4 days, and 3000 only once ![]() I had no idea about the body mass relationship to arm size - that makes me feel a lot better ![]() I think my muscles have become stronger, without getting bigger, which while that is still an improvement, I would like to put on more size. Im doing sets of 6 reps, should I increase the rep count? Thanks gents - this thread has really helped me work hard towards my goals ![]() Stick with 4-6 reps. Neck thickness... yes. If you train your neck. There's some calculators out there if you wanna search for them on lean body mass. I know Lyle McDonald has a pretty good one for maximum lean mass without steroids.

When you are anorexic, you dont get a nice, lean ripped body (though when you are in that mindset, you think you do) - your body is actually fairly flabby and yuck. I had ridiculously visibly ribs (think Skeletor from Killer Instinct) and very thin limbs (my biceps were 25cm - 10 inches only starting, my stomach was 64cm etc etc). It was quite disgusting, not that I realised it at the time. I didnt think you were saying 'eat maccas' energies ![]() ![]() oh. gross. well, it's handy in that you will get to start from a low bf% why were you anorexic? body image reasons?

I finally got help and took action when I started to get constant stomach cramps and pains - I went to my family doctor and he told me about the atrophy. I guess you've read everything that has happened since.

Some people may disagree with me on this, but I have found that being confident with yourself and comfortable about who you are and what you look like actually makes us look much more attractive and charismatic. In encounters with anyone who isn't shallow, this can end up having far more positive impact than physical features. So I tend to think that is more important.

When I started becoming fitter, when I could walk into a shop an buy any small to medium shirt and have it look awesome on me, my confidence skyrocketed, I'm not saying I turned into brad pit but the self confidence alone has done wonders with my interactions with people, with females. At work I am more confident to have speak up and give input, I now speak with much greater conviction and authority wherever I go. One weird thing I notice is that I now command attention more readily in social and work situations, without any forcefulness of my part. I was at a meeting with our state manager, one of the reps and a large client of ours, I was sitting back quietly taking notes occasionally reaffirming and backing up points by our manager, at one point I thought of something I put my pen down and interrupted the discussion. "there is one issue.." is all I said, the room went dead quiet every turned to me and started to listen without interruption for like 5 minutes. A few years back I could have yelled at the top of my voice and I probably still would have been ignored. Duly because I didn't have that presence and an aura of confidence.
