honestly.... you guys are so lucky you're trying to gain weight i hafto work somewhat hard to stay un-fat and toned... i wish i could smoke weed and eat all day -.- lifting and eating a shitload of protein is eassssssssyyy!! cardio and limiting what you eat takes more effort and persistence imo... thunder thighs on girls are no thxxxxxxx

But you're Asian, isn't your metabolism supposed to be like a diesel engine?
Jokes aside, I think that losing weight is a matter of willpower - watching what you eat, working out, running, etc. I've had to do it before. Gaining weight is different, and harder in many ways... Imagine that every time I try to eat when I'm not necessarily hungry, I get nauseous. Every time I eat too much (which for my friends is usually a normal meal), I throw up, ruining whatever attempt at gaining nutrition/weight I had. It sucks.

in my experience at least Yea, I find that to be true. Also cigarettes kill me. I only smoke at night (mostly), when I usually get my third/second meal in anyways.
yeah it's the same for me i smoke(weed) in the 2nd half of the day and that's also when I eat abouit 80% of my calories

3rd post in a row here but i don't care this is mainly to eshlow, but also to anyone else who has done front lever progression
I am currently on straddle lever. i can hold the advanced tuck for over 30 seconds at one time. but when i try to move to the straddle, I can never straighten it out, my lower back is always sagging down by the time i get my legs out. I know it would help if i had more flexibility so i could spread my legs wider, but I don't.
I am wondering if it might be helpful for me to try to train with 1 leg in a tuck, and 1 leg straight out (switching to train both sides of course).
Or, anything else helpful u could tell me would be nice too. Since switching from advanced tuck to straddle it feels like I have made very little progress.
(unlike with my push muscles, i have made tons of progress there which is awesome. am almost ready to move to advanced tuck planche and my total dips i can do has shot through the roof)
the end

Stretch before you do the exercise, do toe-touches and straddles on the floor or even better with resistance weight on your back.

nopes
it's healther in a way because it doesn't have all these chemicals in it that candy does, and no MSG etc etc but after all it's just sugar, like candy.

yes!
loosing weight is ez for me. Gaining weight on the other hand requires some real dedication. Overeating, eating when you're not hungry, feeling bloated etc
wtf @ throwing up. Grow some balls and ignore the nausea

Yeah I have to say, my cutting weight period has been significantly easier (and had quicker results) and my mass gaining peiod. At least in my experience, losing weight hasn't been that difficult at all, now that I have a stronger grasp on nutrition concepts AND having much better motivation and support (that's you guys) than ever before.
Off to the gym, k thx bye.

Yep... it's never just about doing.
You have to learn what works well for you.
We just provide the general framework with which to work for mass. Mostly compounds.. some isolation here and there. Lift heavy low reps and mix it up with moderate loads with more reps. Run, sprint, learn new sports.
Eat well.
It should be fun not a chore.

meh, gaining weight is expensive and eating is never enjoyable because your never hungry having to force feed yourself triple the amount of calories you ate normally.
it's very easy to give up on, very.
saying no to shitty food and playing a lot of DDR doesn't sound too bad in comparison.
and if you aren't playing DDR, you should start.

Back from the gym. Very slight improvement this week, so yay - as long as I am not getting weaker.
I will endeavour to do some cardio later tonight. All is going well, but I must say I am actually looking forward to eating more / bulking up again, it just seemed more exciting than thinning down Still, under 3 weeks to go!

Yeah, and it's really unhealthy. By the time I'm finished, I've probably eaten the equivalent of 5 mangos or so, and all the sugar that comes with it T_T.

So how is everyone going? Well I hope.
Looking forward to going to the gym tomorrow - and to finishing up this cutting period in just 17 days! My upper four abs are starting to become quite visible, so hopefully by photo time ill have some clear to show. Fingers crossed!
A couple of questions for the experts (so, everyone compared to me):
a) so long as I keep my carbs down, is a moderately high fat intake awful (I have been eating cheese now and then for example, some protein bars are fairly fatty as well, but low carb).
b) when I come off the cutting phase, how slowly should I reinvolve carbs into my diet, and to what upper limit? I have read 90-100 should be a good benchmark - but I try to avoid general approaches when possible and go with something more definite.
c) is there a definite limit on how much protein one can digest in a set period of time - say per hour? I have been trying to research the topic, but different sources give different answers - I have read amounts as low as 30g/hour and answers such as 'no limit whatsoever'.
d) if I am doing cardio and a gym session in the same day, I have of late been doing the gym session in the morning (with a prior caffeine hit, courtesy of energies advice...and it works great!) and the cardio sometime later that day, usually in the evening. I find those cardio sessions to be fine, but on the days when it is just cardio, I go for it in the morning, and its incredibly difficult - is this because I am running on ketones? Its just really really hard to move - and its not reallyfatigue, I feel different.
thanks guys!

since you ask i havent been doing wonderfully (utter shit), after my 2 SHIT AS FUCK gym sessions i havent been again and stopped eating. but i got emergency loan money today (so i have more than $10 haha) so ill try to eat some today and gym tomorrow. after this heartless slump i kinda set my goal at 80kg before holiday (27th) and probably revise it to 81kg.
