No skin in this game but it was tightly poised, United pull one back and immediately a nonsense penalty is given, argh!
PSG got the same ridiculous penalty vs Dortmund yesterday and nobody bat an eye.
I’m sure some did, I just happened to be watching the United game
Punishment just doesn’t fit the crime, if there even is a crime in the first place.

For me it wasn't even the worst penalty I have seen this week. That belongs to the Gordon penalty for Newcastle against Brentford.
I hate penalties where a striker jumps in front of a defender/keeper, does not touch the ball but throws themself to the floor and is given a penalty. I thought Gordon fouled Flekken. However, there seems to be an idea that strikers always have the ball so it is always a challenge on the striker and never a challenge by the striker. I find it baffling and inconsistent - if a defender had done that to Gordon then Gordon would have wanted a penalty.
So bayern just beat bochum 7-0 in the 5th round of Bundesliga. Last season they met in round 3, also 7-0. In 21/22 they met in round 5, also 7-0. Funny.
Kane with a hat trick also. Not remotely surprised he has had a great start, he has been one of europe's top strikers for years and he is exactly what bayern missed last season.

Yeah, almost as if Choupo Mouting was not good enough to replace Lewandowski. Who would have thought.
Yeah my friend was telling me every goal "this has to be a record right" haha, after there less than "optimal" display in front of goal in the san siro, that was a very good way to bounce back.

Another defeat and no goals (again). I have not watched the games, is this some bad luck patch or?
I think their xG is actually pretty high, probably somewhere around 15 at this point. I don't know if it's just the stats being misleading or if their finishing is lacking really bad. Probably a bit of both.
Chelsea just don't have a clinical finisher. Their overall team is pretty solid for controlling the ball and finding chances, but no one can convert. Mudryk and Jackson are awful.
I think Spurs will be a pretty good team this season, candidates for top 4. I think Liverpool vs Tottenham next week is going to really show if one of these teams are frauds/getting lucky. I'm still a little concerned about Liverpool's slow starts and inability to get clean sheets.

Its not just their finishing, but they don't have someone who can consistently score from outside the area. This makes it easy for teams to park the bus and they just don't seem to be able to score in that situation.
