Maybe the PL should stop throwing money at single "maybe good" players and start building squads that can actually deal with so many games.
And also why would you need 2 local cups as in League Cup and FA Cup?
As is now, the PL is pretty embarrassing international and this time it really cost them with the new format CL.

On other news, Messi casually scored 6 points in a 6:2 win. 5 assists and 1 goal

Simply, just watch how much Leverkusen will get ripped apart this summer as there players are offered 3x there salaries by West Ham and such.

14 injuries is barely a scratch on Chelsea's squad, you might be forgetting just how many players you've bought and how many you've sent out on loan

Also im going off of Klopp's comments here not my own! He said its the toughest and hardest league in the world and the reason its struggling sometimes in Europe (This season is a blip, as last season european conference league and champs league was won by English sides) is because of the workload as the premier league doesn't give special treatment unlike other leagues.

At least the german league doesnt give speciel treatments too, dont know what you think the other leagues are doing.
Also, inflate 4 teams with tons of cash to buy players from other teams and you have the same dirty money there, dont know what there is not to get about that?

And I would even argue that "stronger" only means financially. When it comes to actual acomplishments, you see the results in this seasons european competitions clearly.

Wow one season, big whoop. We’ve had Chelsea win it, City make a final and win it, Liverpool make multiple finals and win it too in relatively recent times.

How many seasons have Bayern won the league consecutively prior to this season?

I really wouldn’t be too sniffy about English football, in relative terms their TV money distribution is far more egalitarian than others, especially the Spanish league. Germany may wax lyrical about their 50+1 rule but Bayern still have a massive economic advantage against even a Dortmund

We played Spurs with Gilchrist at right back, then the whole bench was players from our u23/u21 team!!

We bought players but they are all injured! We had2 fit CBs vs Spurs. We now have only 2 fit centre midfielders as well in Connor and Caicedo everyone else is injured in that position. Nkunku and Reece James our best players have played like 2 games total this season

That is true, I give you that. But on the other hand, with so much more money, why are there not so many english teams that won the CL in the last 10 years? They clearly have more money to spend on talent than other teams, even whole leagues.

You have 3 english teams, 2 times Bayern and the rest is spanish.

Real is the biggest club in the world. It's an outlier and I don't think it's fair to look at a superteam like RMA and then say that La Liga must be the strongest league because of their success. Outside of RMA, the last 10 years has seen spanish teams reach the finals 3 times, (Barca 1, Atletico 2).

RMA has almost the same amount of CL wins als every english team together, true.

@TV money distribution: I would be for an equal distribution too if money is a non-issue for the club I am running. Only helps building up nice competition to make the league worthwhile to watch. This is one of the biggest issues the german league has, in my opinion, that Bayern get way more money no matter what.

The German league definitely does give special treatment. The schedule is adjusted to the teams playing in Europe.

If you play in europe on thursday you are likely to have your next league game sunday night or monday.

Or if you play europe on tuesd your previous league game is Friday. EPL does not do this.

And yeah people are having short memory here.

Real will face and win against psg in the final and nobody will remember that 2 german teams were in the semis.

Haha. PSG is gonna bottle it against Dortmund before they even get a chance to bottle it against Madrid in the finals.

Of course, that just means the finals is going to be even more one-sided.

I am afraid that we cannot rule out Bayern yet. Speaking of, I have read rumors that they want to have ten Hag as new coach! Dont know how I should feel about this.

@fixures: I checked this and yeah, seems there is some special treatment, I stand corrected

German teams might get special treatment through league fixtures but English CL clubs are allowed to break every financial rule in every book and get away with it... how about that as special treatment

And they have enough money to have more players to field, basically can run 2 times the squad of Dortmund and still have money left.

Yes my problem with premier league clubs is that they arent building squads. They have their first team and maybe 2-3 other good players and thats it.

Klopp and Liverpool are one of the few who keep rotating players but still get hit by injuries. Mancity and arsenal keep fielding same players and are super lucky with injuries. but when they are hit with injuries they cry

we don't play on mondays, and its not necessarily sunday night, but yes youre not just likely to but can rely on it.

this one isnt true.
general rule of thumb is to give two full days to recover.

e: was also confused to see this being referred to as special treatment, feels like common sense tbh

ee: just checked and liverpool always played on sundays after el? i looked up city, arsenal and liverpool and they never had to play with just 1 day in between. so this special treatment doesnt seem so special after all unless we are talking about something else

Liverpool get smacked with 12:30 kick offs with only 2 day breaks. PL will definitely give us 2 day breaks, but it doesn't make sense when the Europa game was late Thursday night in an eastern european country, only for the players to have to fly back, get home in the morning on friday, then train saturday and immediately kick off sunday noon. Should mandate that the players at least get a nighttime game on Sunday, or better yet, push the game to Monday.

sure, i'm all for giving players more time to rest as you described - i'm questioning the validity of the claim that bundesliga teams get special treatment
