United have faded a little after that bright start, and there’s clearly more work to be done but that’s a hell of a lot better already, even if they go on to lose. Even if they’re struggling to keep hold of the ball increasingly, they have pace up top as an outlet.

Promising signs but if ever there’s a game you’re going to see a reaction it’s one like this.

Yeah, at least results wise I don't think they're missing Insigne that badly with Osimhen developing into his full potential and Kvaratskhelia seemingly slotting in quite well. Their bigger worries are in replacing Koulibaly and Ospina in defense as far as I can tell.

Four years ago their yearly budget was €4.5 mill, this game is worth like.. 8? times that even if they go 0-0-6.. and it's all without any investor help, just a brilliant manager. Very reminiscent of 90s rosenborg.

Very reminiscent of 90s rosenborg. Qualifying to Europa League is some €4,5 mil. That's still likely a huge chunk of Bodo-Glimts annual budget. At some point I'm going to have to sit down and figure out the scale of all these financial boosters and size them against teams' budgets. There is so much going on in so different scales that it's very easy to lose the track of what actually matters and how much.
