All there is is the u21s Euro final and then the women's world cup. I love watching women's world cup! TBH I usually get really into it by the later stages, its definitely a good watch, but the feeling of tension and stakes just isn't quite there like it is with even just your average Premier League game.
I feel like most of the tension was if anyone in Europe will even get to watch. And the next problem is most games are like middle of the night or very early morning. I can see myself following the YT highlights though

how is this even a good idea. i would just go public and full scorch earth on the club and absolutely no one would take the club's side on that one. it would be way more damaging to the club if they did that and it went public.

You mean threatening to bench him if he won't sign a new contract? It happens all the time.

So PSG is basically hoping either A.) He accepts. or B.) If he doesn't they ask for such an asinine amount that he is benched a result because no Club will pay such a high price tag....? I mean 150 million isn't that much when one thinks about it.

PSG has 0 leverage no one will buy mbappe for 150m if he is unwilling to sign an extension not sure what benching mbappe is going to do, psg still has to pay him even if they dont play him. if he doesnt sign, just play him, at least you'll maybe win something. if he gets hurt, well who cares, he's not your player next year anyways (from PSG's point of view)

I'm pretty sure they can't just sell him. He has to agree as well. PSG and their owner just look pathetic. They signed a contract and now they realize how bad it is and are trying to intimidate (or whatever) Mbappe into signing stuff. Maybe this shit flies in Qatar when you are buddies with the emir. It doesn't in Europe.

So Mbappe will just collect his salary for watching the Ligue 1 season from the bench. He will not lose his spot in the national team. Also Real Madrid will just sign him the next season with a signing bonus. I don't see what PSG is winning here.

As talented as Mbappe is, PSG have absurdly overindulged him
I don’t think he comes out with a great amount of credit for his behaviour last couple of years either tbh

They aren't winning anything. They're setting an example for their other stars who might have more to lose. Sure, I don't think anybody as high profile as Mbappe has been benched over contractual disagreements, but lesser players definitely have, and that is exactly what happens: they show up to practice, and don't ever get to play a match. They lose game rhythm and the chance to shine in the public eye. Sometimes they lose their spot in the national team (obviously unlikely for Mbappe). Mostly the salary isn't as absurd as what Mbappe earns nor is the transfer fee. But it's a difference of scale, not something that hasn't been done before.

Plus they can even restrict his access to the training facilities so even bigger dip in form. You can do gym all you want, it is not even close to actual competetion rythm.
He would be voiding one year of his career, still getting a lot of money for sure, but even next year it will take a while for him to recover form. Not sure how strong he is mentally to deal with a potential blank year plus slow start next year. If the first few chances go missing, mentally can also take a strain on a forward.
That also gives leverage to the only club that actually wants him to negotiate what they offer him.

de gea leaves man utd. the way the club has treated him this window is nothing but a disgrace

Now he has pissed off the Club, as well as some players in it as well.

He wants to go Real so bad, but why did he sign this contract 2 years ago, so weird lol.

More of the team owners Glazers treating him badly.
I hope he can get a testimonial match as his final farewell. Leaving him to hang right at the end is bad.

Wow it was last year? Good lord, why do that if you were always going to Madrid anyway, he had the chance to go before.
|
Money is a hell of a drug.
|
when did he have the chance? PSG had been very adamant that they would never sell him or let him leave on a free, even from 2 years ago. i do agree that if he wanted to go real, then dont sign the extension and just go, but we'd be in this exact situation anyways.
but who knows maybe he wanted to see what PSG was going to do. maybe he got threatened to sign it, cant put anything past PSG's president.
