Totally reasonable to say Saka has had a better season! Very different from 'is better', though. Note that I'm not arguing that Foden is better, more that they are so close in skill that I think theyre basically on the same tier.

Anyway - City vs Bayern tonight. Greatly looking forward to that, has the potential to be a true classic and would've made a most worthy final. They are the two teams with the most goals scored this season (looking at the top 5 leagues), both teams have been a bit inconsistent, however their top level is essentially as good as football gets. Hope they bring it!

Gorgeous goal lol. Thought Bayern was looking a bit better tbh, but games like these are often decided by moments of individual brilliance.

Saka is much more consistent though. The ability to perform consistently and always have a positive effect on the game is just as important as skill. It seems to me that Foden can go missing in certain types of game, whereas Saka recently always seems to be huge for Arsenal.

But i mean to the point Saka has not "done it" for several seasons now, he is on 2 in a row at best. He is a year younger than Foden... has played more games than foden for club and country Has better stats than foden, attacking and defensive plays in a much worse team than foden Is more of a leader than foden Is a much nicer bloke than foden Oh but hes black! Sorry, the most inportant trait in England Yeah nothing to do with him being black mate lol, he has played better for England than Foden, that is a fact. But Foden plays less and has better stats in some seasons and not that bad in comparisson too, he has more offensive stats in league for playing less again.
But still, i get this is opinion vs opinion debate anyway, you asked a question and i would prefer Foden as i think he has a higher skill ceiling than Saka. Saka would not have become the player he is at Chelsea/Liverpool/City that is a fact though, as he got to play due to Arsenal having "no choice" per se.

Damn, thats a finish from Rodri!!!
That felt like another 40 pass move from city to generate that cross chance from DeBruyne just, wow.

Upmanecano not having a good second half. Real fun game.

For my fellow bundesliga followers: will bayern sack tuchel if he loses all three trophies? I could totally see it happening as tuchel will go head to head with bayern bosses if that happens

Tuchel will get all next season. Tbh, Bayern looked like crap often even under Nagelsmann and Tuchel is no magician lol

Can't understand why he wasn't subbed off. I wrote that after 8 minutes of the second half and he had half a dozen disastrous involvements after, directly causing 2-0 and not doing well on 3-0. Aside from players causing a combined penalty red card in the first half, I can't recall seeing a defender have this negative of an impact on a this high level game.

Maybe this kind of stuff is where having a new coach backfires a bit. You don't necessarily have as good of a grasp on who can bounce back and who should be subbed off. That being said, it doesn't really take a footballing genius to see that Upamecano is struggling there. I guesss the damage is already done when you're 3-0 down vs City though...

Tuchel also refused to play Müller (last 10min are for nothing) - this loss is totally on him and not the players, Nagelsmann 3-5-2 would have resulted in a better game for Bayern
|
Tbh, Müller is not that good, old, takes up place for new talents.
Tuchel also is also kinda new at this position so I wouldnt blame it on him. It is stupid to fire a coach so short before playing against a top PL team anyway, dunno what the Bayern staff expected? Winning everything instantly?

This isn't on Tuchel, this is on Kahn and Brazzo and the other genius Bayern managers...
You just don't sack a manager midseason via BILD Zeitung when you are in all 3 trophy races.

Also not that stats win games, but its hella impressive when you leave the Etihad with MORE possession than THAT man city team, like fair play that in itself means you played well. Still, stats don't win you games and 3-0 is pretty much impossible to turn around vs a Haaland man city.
|
Its not impressive if city lets you have possession. It was also not tuchels gameplan to have possession. He said so himself before the match so its not impressive at all
