on a separate note, the prices of players these days is ridiculous. thanks to psg with their 450m neymar/mbappe combo now were looking at 100m standard for any top player. unbelievable | ||

Inter have rejected an offer of €100 million plus Marcos Alonso from Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku. That should be interesting. I'd have rated Lukaku lower, but then again he's apparently been brilliant in Serie A for the most of it. Transfermarkt puts his value exactly at €100 million, not sure how much Alonso adds to it. | ||

The whole Fabinho storyline is really interesting to me. They paid some €45 million for him, didn't play him for a season and looked like he's going to be another of those Monaco players that left half of their abilities behind in the transfer. Then, after more than a season of quiet time, they started introducing him to the starting 11 and now he's a really vital piece in the midfield and one top valued DMs around as far as I can tell. I don't know what kind of stuff he was missing and what they hammered into him in the training pitch during that quiet time, but it seems it worked really well in the long run. | ||

I imagine we’ll find out years down the line. I mean I get how Klopp has a system and the parts have to all function in sync, but it did seem to be quite some time before Fabinho was deemed ready. On the other side of the ledger, and ok injuries absolutely have been a factor but I’m equally surprised he hasn’t got a tune out of Keita consistently. | ||
