Never a pen, should have been pens. That's left a sour taste.
Still. England had much more bench depth and it showed here. Their subs were invigorating, Denmark's were the opposite.

Yeah we should have gone for the 3-3 draw like everyone else.

FOOTBALLS COMING HOME!!!!!!!!
Into the finals we go, very impressive fitness game from England, from the second half looked like only one winner to be fair, Denmark just had nothing in the tank left even after their 5 subs. Penalty was very soft, the body check up top on Sterling on the way down kept VAR from intervening as wasn't "clean and obvious mistake" because of that.
Kasper was man of the match which says a lot! Made like 5 world class saves to keep Denmark with any hope as they offered nothing going forward since the first half, so a bit of luck deservedly after these painful decades and into the final we go!
Time to finish the job against a hopefully tiring Italian side from their last two games compared to England who look very fresh.

Comes from England as we formalized it first! Oldest FA for a reason sir, and that argument is also wrong as it came from Brazil first they say, but again we formalized it with rules and FA first.

Someone from the crowd aiming a laser at Schmeichel's eyes during the penalty :/

Football was modernized in England but its origins come from China. Sad but true (well, sad if you're from the islands :D) It's one of my favorite sport paradox. The country where the football was born has in many betting agencies lower chance to win a world cup title than the chance of alien landing actually happening (the last time I checked China had 1:2 500 while alien landing was 1:2 000 )
I like the Three lions song, why not, but I like nitpicking on this as well when English fans are footballing coming homing

The penalty just left the victory with very sour taste and bad feeling. (also the fans don't help the aftertaste either)

I thought Kyle Walker was excellent tonight. He's such an asset. Those covering sprints saved at least 2 goals.

England doesn't look dominant in the way Italy looked, but they keep appearing extremely solid. Certainly the football is more cynical than what they've normally represented, but they're also the closest to a trophy they've been for 50 years. Stones+Maguire+Walker is such a good defensive trio - this being where the team excels doesn't provide for flashy football, but it's good for knockout football..
Penalty was soft but honestly the way the game was going, I think if England didn't score that goal and convert to playing defense, they'd be likely to get a goal anyway. They had so much more energy going into the extra time - guessing it's that ez travel to the semis playing in.

Just saw highlights of the OT. If this is considered penalty then we might as well call almost every contact in penalty area. Jesus fuck.

Of course they didn't deserve it. It doesn't matter how well you think they played, or how many chances they created, or whatever statistic you want to measure success by -- the only thing that actually matters is how many times the ball ends up in the net, and the reason the score was 2-1 at the whistle is because they were completely wrongly gifted a penalty. You can speculate however much you want on whether they would 'score anyway' or not without the penalty; the fact is, the penalty was bullshit and the score without it was 1-1. It's not as if the ref looks at expected goals and awards the penalty because, well, they deserve another goal anyway.
England played well, no denying that; their defense in particular looked incredibly solid, and the Stirling / Saka duo was a menace -- but the game wound up being decided by a shitty ref call rather than skill, and if you're genuinely okay with that you're a pretty poor fan, and an even poorer sport. As a fan, wouldn't you rather see your team actually earn their win rather than being given one by UEFA?
