This is a man who puts love of the game and passion before all other considerations people!
There wouldn't have been a discussion about a financial settlement if he hadn't already been talking about retirement with the front office. It wasn't even supposed to come out yet, it got leaked. They let him keep the money because it's a nice thing to do for a guy who got busted up playing through multiple injuries and being tough as nails. It also tells the rest of the league that if you play hard for the Colts, they'll take good care of you. Not sure if they were motivated more by the first or second part, but it seems good and smart either way.
I suspect his shoulder injury was somewhat mismanaged by the Team Docs. It was never going to be an easy fix, but I think playing with it was a mistake guided by Team DRs who were too optimistic. So it is a good calculated move by the team to cover up their error with money.
I've had 2 bad tendon injuries and rehabbing from them sucks balls. Even after you are "recovered" you can never just "get up and play".. you MUST go through a carefully prescribed warm up routine OR risk re-injurying the tendon. So Luck's comment about the game not being "joyful" or "fun" ... i get that. Also, every time there is any pain in the previously injured area you are thinking ... "was my throwing form off?" .. "did i throw off balance and put too much pressure on my shoulder or elbow?". Tendon injuries suck balls.

Damn millennials and their aversion to life altering injuries and head trauma. Back in my day we made sure all our football players were crippled or killed
This guy got so much backlash on twitter over his godawful take, he will probably not shake this one off anytime soon
Torrey Smith roasted him pretty good about the stealing his roommate's credit cards in college
Pats so Cheap BB fired their 3 time SB kicker for a rookie so he could pay Josh Gordon's contract and create 2 million more cap space. Wouldn't be surprised if BB is eying Trent Williams Lynch out with a blot clot is devastating for the o-line though
How much salt would their be if Luck unretired after Tom Brady leaves the Pats and Luck becomes the Pats QB?

Yep, Aikman got him pretty good too
As mentioned though, this is probably exactly what he wanted. Now everyone knows this guys name, albeit for all the wrong reasons
Well yeah, being a dumbass shock jock has its benefits, otherwise how would folks like Cowherd still be around. Basically the entire sports pundit industry turns on the popularity that results from bad takes.
The way it works is there are two types of them. There are guys who say what sports fans are thinking, and there are guys who say what sports media are thinking. Skip is a sports fan thought channeler. See, e.g. his anti-Lebron stances. Most ex-athletes are media channelers. For example, anyone who thinks Zeke gots to get paid.
What would u guys put Ertz’ value at in a full PPR league?
Currently trying to trade him +1 for Kamara. Likely gonna be Ertz + M. Thomas. I’m also trying to pair him with Duke Johnson, Cohen or James White (though, these are least appealing to the Kamara owner)

Ertz plus Michael Thomas for Kamara?
Giving up way too much. Your first three picks are crucial to your season - you can't win your league with them but you can lose it. Giving up 2 of them for only 1 in return is too much in my book
