I'd say Brady and Brees were the only players who took that cut. Brady because he didn't need the money and Brees because he got to be a contender every year. I think Mahomes would take the same route now, seeing that he's always going to have a deep receiving corps around him. Maybe LJ in a few years will do that. Wilson and Dak demanding money and not proving anything on the field is an example of not thinking long term.

But it'll be interesting to see if the league goes ahead with fanless games this season.

Most these QBs know they won't be some sort of all time great legacy guy anyways. What's the legacy of Joe Flacco if he takes a paycut compared to his other contract? He's not winning a second Ring still probably. Look at Rodgers situation. He took a huge contract that makes replacing him impossible for 3 years, yet his weirdo front office still took a rookie QB in the first round. Lets be honest, with a front office like that, how is he gonna win a second ring? Its gonna be a crapload of luck if he did.

With the way things are shaking and the current crop of 1-3 year QBs, I don't see a lot of the "old guard" winning much of anything. I'd say Brees and Brady are the best two to make a run for it. But it's going to be LJ, Mahomes, Wilson (maybe), Burrow, etc that will be winning. With them being quite mobile and having a good arm (LJ excepted), they're gonna make it difficult.

All that to say, is I think the SB will not be a dynastic stranglehold any longer. Runs like the Patriots had are pretty over. I expect to see more teams get further going forward. Except the Bengals and Bears.

Nah. Ain't happening. Stidham is the future. Belicheck wouldn't have cleaned house as much as he did if he had a sense that Rodgers would be available. I don't think they'd have the cap next year either.

Andy Dalton released today. Honestly, I'd love him on either the Pats or Jaguars. I always thought he had potential but was stuck under Marvin Lewis and a terrible FO.

Jags need to stick with Minshew. He has great chemistry with their WR core. I think Foles is still with Jags? Maybe have him go on market, I’m sure selling a SB winning QB can’t be very hard. Just my noobie take

Foles was traded to the Bears.

Dalton as a contingency plan wouldnt be terrible. If they struck a deal similar to Jameis taking 1.1M from the Saints, its definitely better than just having Minshew and Josh Dobbs. It's too bad the Jags are going to probably be one of the worst teams in the league if the season happens this year. Their elite defense from 2017 is now completely gone.

I'm not really a Browns fan, just someone who enjoys chaos. Regardless, I don't think Mayfield is long for the league, but this will be the year we find out I think.
