Well for me personally it is because the hype sold it, the drama from the bus attack/cancellation/relocation and its on at a convenient time. I woudln't have stayed up for it, but why not watch the biggest match in south American footy of the year, even if it is the only one I'll watch until the next copa.

I'll watch the odd South American match when they're on at a convenient time. I lived on the contingent for long enough to have a bit of feel for the clubs. And yes, the hype for this one was real. A superclásico in the Libertadores final is good stuff.

No, they're different. I don't mind the GeeGee in starcraft. For the Gooaaal I'll turn my audio off, it annoys me to no end. Even when an utter shitty 4-0 has just been scored, they start yelling like someone just won a cup. It's stupid.

I will take the occasional bored non reaction with stuff like that NBC commentator that lost his shit during the scouse derby recently, much more genuine that just screaming gol for as long as you can.

French commentators seem like overall the most hype to me.
