I wonder if in the far future football will get closer to volleyball in the application of rules (unlike now that even VAR is only released when the cheaters figure a way to manipulate/fix even more with it), and then those empires built on cheat will pretend they and their history were always clean and deserved. Oh yes, that will happen. Either way if you need to be rich and powerful in football in order to control the referees, instead of just having a good team and playing well or even getting lucky, then this is a game not worth respecting. It survives because the game is still good, but they aren't any different than vagabonds in the streets stealing people. They both deceive and cheat for their own self-affirmation. | ||
