Klopp ditching last season's 433 pressing style is biting him. And I still think salah is overrated. Good fast smart runner but technically average. You sure can score a lot of goals if your team knows how to create chances for you. Look at what has happened when the team stops creating at will. You have a luxury of a player.

But yay! I don't want pool to win the title because their fans are annoying as hell. Keep them stuck in the 80s glory days

What do Chelsea and Arsenal fans think of Liverpool fans? I know most United fans (including mysef) hate them with a passion but it's interesting to see Chelsea and Arsenal share the same thinking :D

Yeah everyone minus Liverpool fans in the UK hate Liverpool fans because of their like Elitism but its more like they think they deserve it. Can't think of the word but they feel like its "Justice" when Liverpool win because they do it "the right way". I mean their was no questions in the 80s and what not they were fantastic and number 1. But since the premier league their is also no question they have not been near at it enough.

It still feels weird for a more casual fan outside the UK. It's a club that usually produces enjoyable style of football, has some great tradition, employs likeable manager and a great set of players both skill & personality wise and so on. Its academy seems to produce decent talent, its financial schemes seem less questionable than many other top tier clubs. With Klopp they seem to be succesfully transitioning into a more modern and sustainable system that's run with professionalism in every aspect.

I've seen fans do stupid stuff, but I don't think it has stood out in particular from other clubs. There's very little talk about the glory days or anything like that here (assuming you can find a fellow fan in the first place).

I ended up supporting them partly because of the history with Sami Hyypiä. I've also got some Dortmund connections, so Klopp as a manager made them even more likeable. Playing UCL consistently doesn't hurt either, since it's the easiest competition to follow without expensive TV channel packages or constant visits to expensive pubs that show the matches.

Yes I think liverpool has a lot better reputation outside of UK. I think it one of the premier league clubs more loved in Spain.

yeah there is no elitism in Liverpool fans outside the UK (and perhaps Europe). only a depressing sort of hope and longing, because the vast majority of the fans outside Europe+ Show Spoiler +

(which despite perhaps lacking any direct connections doesnt seem to make them any less passionate, something thats always felt weird to me but hey who I am to judge.)

are from the late 90s, early 2000's TV boom and so havent really lived any Liverpool Glory outside a some European Success.

That and "something something Stevei G best player to never win PL".

Id like them to win tbh, but I dont particularly care if they dont either.

I am thinking i will probs watch Real Madrid tomorrow. Spurs game is done and well Ajax are in that tie with how they played in the first leg and how openly attacking they are. Maybe Real will pick them off easier at home but still, fascinating little tie.

Btw, after 3 and a half years with Rui Vitoria as a coach (imho the worst coach Benfica had in the last 25 years) we finally got a decent coach. Bruno Lage who was a coach for the youth teams for 10 years in benfica and that in the last couple of years was in Carlos carvalhal assistant manager.

Let's see what the future holds for us but I think you'll see a really good Benfica in Europe again.

And Benfica will only be good granted we don't get raided during the summer for our youngsters..

People are already commenting on a 120M offer from man United for Joao Felix. He only has 20 games as a starter for the first team... fucking "modern" football where the classic teams can't even maintain a player for more than one season.

Well trust me this is not applicable in Singapore and South East Asia. There's a massive EPL following here and Liverpool fans are equally annoying. I would say Liverpool and Man Utd are the 2 most hated fanbases here.

I was actually rooting for them last season in CL. I thought they deserved something for their brand of football. But this season klopp ditched the old style so I don't really enjoy watching them anymore.

Plus I follow thisisanfield (anyone has a Chelsea equivalent?) and the comments there are annoying. I recall when robertson was signed and everyone went like eww low quality signing from a relegated club. Same for shaqiri. Also with the 'we scored 7 past him' Alison. Now they're all worshipping these players. Need to keep these fans waiting imo

That's harsh! His stats are actually very good, he has better stats than Zidane and Figo and played lots of games less. He also minus goals is better than fat Ronaldo as well. He just gets injured a lot it seems. I would take him but the issue is now he is 30 in July, he is only going to get worst. I think Real will try to sell but mainly due to this is the last year they have being able to get some value for him. Where he goes im not sure though, because like i said he 30 now.

I like him as a player, but mostly he feels a bit of mismatch to what Real need when Ronaldo isn't around. Most of his games are 60 minutes max (90 last time in December as far as I can tell) and the Classicos were very quiet time for him.
